    General Accountant

    Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

    The roles will manage accounting process of an entity in the portfolio of COE. The key responsibilities are to:

    • Book daily sales/purchases/general expenses (monthly invoice bookings)
    • Issue sales invoices and monitor the aging balance
    • Book and reconcile monthly payroll journal entries
    • Perform AP/AR reconciliation and maintain a list for follow-ups
    • Perform timely month-end closing, including bank reconciliation, accruals/prepaids, accrued revenue/deferred income, amortization schedule, revaluation, etc. Close the period after review.
    • Review the loan agreements and calculate the interest on loans each month
    • Generate financial reports (P&L, TBs, sales by customer detail, etc.) after month-end. Analyze the monthly P&L and effects on the Balance sheet.
    • Quarterly cost center reports: review actuals against budget and provide explanation for variances. Discuss with cost center owners.
    • Review the weekly cash flow against the cashflow forecast
    • Prepare annually full set of financial statements in accordance with accounting principles and company policy
    • Prepare the quarterly VAT reporting and the annual tax declaration.
    • Work closely with external auditor by providing necessary documentation and information at year-end
    • Prepare the budget and review projections (forecasting process)
    • Involve in ad-hoc accounting /admin assignments as and when required.

    Qualifications and Education

    • Bachelor of Commerce (BCOM) or equivalent with a major in accounting/finance.
    • CPA-K or its equivalent

    Experience

    • 5 to 7 years of related experience
    • Experience in a public accounting and a commodity trading company is preferable but not required

    Sustainability Data & Evaluation Co-ordinator

    Job Description

    • Responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing robust monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems to track program performance and impact.
    • Manage data collection systems and tools, ensuring data integrity, analysis, and visualization for strategic insights and reporting.
    • Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Framework
    • Oversee collecting, managing, and reporting data for projects, certification and other sustainability  
    • Together with subject matter experts and project coordinators, design and implement M&E frameworks and performance indicators aligned with project goals, donor requirements, and organizational strategy. 
    • Develop and implement data collection tools and protocols for field teams and partners.
    • Coordinate baseline, midline, and endline assessments such as carbon footprints as well as impact evaluations like SROI
    • Track and analyze projects outputs, outcomes, and impacts against set targets and KPIs.
    • Support program teams in integrating M&E practices into daily implementation processes.
    • Data Management & Quality Assurance
    • Oversee implementation of digital data collection tool, ensuring country users are properly trained and tool is used optimally.
    • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data collected from multiple sources.
    • Conduct regular data quality assessments and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
    • Ensure proper data storage, confidentiality, and security in line with data protection policies.
    • Reporting & Visualization
    • Develop and maintain dashboards and visualization tools to communicate key program metrics.
    • Prepare timely, accurate, and comprehensive project reports for management, clients, and donors.
    • Support proposal development and reporting with evidence-based insights and data narratives.
    • Translate complex data into clear and actionable information for decision-makers.
    • Team Management
    • Line-management of 2 team members, a junior data analyst and sustainability accounting admin. 
    • Train field teams and partners on M&E tools, data collection methods, and reporting standards.
    • Provide ongoing mentorship and technical support to enhance M&E and data literacy across teams.
    • Foster a culture of learning and adaptive management through M&E feedback loops.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in M&E, Statistics, Environmental studies , Agriculture, Development Studies or related fields
    • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in M&E and project management in sustainability, agriculture, or development programs.
    • Proficiency in digital data collection tools (e.g., KoboToolbox, CommCare, ODK, Cropin) and database management.
    • Strong analytic and reporting skills with experience in statistical tools and visualization tools (Power Bi, Tableau, Excel)

    • Leadership and problem-solving skills
