    Deputy Chief of Party

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide technical leadership for the entire Activity, achieving target results for program indicators.
    • Work with the Chief of Party and various technical leads to identify potential risks to successful Activity implementation and recommend and implement appropriate adjustments.
    • Manage in-country technical leads and ensure the development of high-quality deliverables and the provision of strong technical support to project partners.
    • Support program work planning

    Qualifications:

    • Master’s Degree (or higher) in a relevant field preferred.
    • At least five (5) years of demonstrated experience directly supervising staff implementing water resources governance and service delivery activities. 
    • At least five (5) years of experience working on USAID or other donor-funded projects.
    • Strong professional experience across STAWI technical objectives, including water resources management and governance, water service delivery, water accessibility for productive use, and collaborative learning and adaptation.
    • Recent and relevant professional experience in Kenya, ideally working with STAWI Activity’s target counties in northern (Turkana, Marsabit, Samburu, Isiolo, Wajir, Garissa) and southeastern Kenya (Taita Taveta, Makueni, Kitui).
    • Professional fluency in English is required.
    • Kenyan nationals are strongly encouraged to apply.

    Director of Administration and Finance

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage office operations, human resources, and administration while ensuring strong financial oversight and compliance with USAID regulations.
    • Collaborate with the U.S.-based project management team to ensure smooth budget management, as well as forecasting both near-term and long-term project expenditures.
    • Ensure that project staffing needs are filled in a timely manner.
    • Oversee and ensure that staff adheres to Tetra Tech, STAWI, and USAID policies.
    • Supervise administrative and support staff performance and deliverable quality related to procurement, grants, and accounting.

    Qualifications:

    • A Master’s Degree (or higher) in a relevant field (i.e., a Master’s in Business Administration), is preferred but not required.
    • Five (5) years of experience managing administrative and support staff, and ensuring overall project compliance with USAID policies and financial and procurement regulations.
    •  Demonstrated financial management experience on USAID or other large donor-funded projects.
    • Professional fluency in English is required.
    • Kenyan nationals are strongly encouraged to apply.

    Chief of Party

     Responsibilities:

    • Provide leadership, management, and general technical direction for the entire Activity, ensuring an integrated vision among different technical components and actors.
    • Identify potential risks to successful Activity implementation and recommend and implement appropriate adjustments.
    • Oversee contract management and technical implementation.
    • Serve as the primary liaison with USAID, the Government of Kenya, and other national and sub-national partners, responding to technical and administrative matters and adjusting programs and operations in response to USAID’s technical direction.
    • Manage in-country team and ensure the development of high-quality deliverables and the provision of strong technical support to project partners.

    Qualifications:

    • Master’s Degree (or higher) in a relevant field preferred.
    • At least five (5) years of demonstrated experience in senior program management roles, including the direct supervision of professional and support staff and direct engagement of high-level government counterparts.  
    • At least five (5) years of experience working on USAID or other donor-funded projects.
    • Strong professional experience across STAWI technical objectives, including water resources management and governance, water service delivery, water accessibility for productive use, and collaborative learning and adaptation.
    • Relevant professional experience in Kenya, and strong experience working with county-level governance structures, as well as relevant national and sub-national entities.
    • Professional fluency in English is required.
