Job Summary

Reporting to the Section Head Chemistry, the Laboratory Technologist will ensure provision of effective, efficient, quality laboratory analytical services in the Laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Receive specimens for general and specialized chemistry for assays
• Maintain appropriate internal QC on chemistry/special  chemistry analyzers
• Manage routine and planned preventive maintenance of equipment in the section
• Analyze tests with maximum efficiency to produce valid results ensuring maximum utilization of reagents and time
• Communicate urgent critical results to all concerned within recommended period of time and maintain appropriate documentation
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Participate in continuous medical education
• Observe and comply with Health and Safety regulations in the laboratory by maintaining high standards of hygiene and general cleanliness in work areas
• Prepare and package samples at appropriate temperature   to be outsourced and hand-over to collection agents
• Develop and implement SOPs in general and special chemistry

Requirements

• Higher Diploma in clinical chemistry or Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Sciences from a recognized institution;
• Registration with Kenya Medical Laboratory Technician and Technologists Board is mandatory;
• Minimum 3 (three) years’ working experience;
• Demonstrable computer literacy;
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills;
• Positive attitude towards work and other members of the team;
• Ability to work under pressure;
• Unquestionable integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Professional attitude and strong work ethic with attention to timeliness.

Responsibilities:

• Review and examine patients consistently by performing such duties as taking case histories, conducting physical examinations, and ordering diagnostic laboratory and radiology studies in compliance with evidence based practice and established protocols.
• Monitor acute and chronically ill patients’ progress on a regular basis.
• Initiate discussions with patients and care givers to enable better diagnostic and therapeutic medical care and services.
• When necessary, carry out privileged and potentially life-saving emergency surgical and medical procedures.
• Provide evidence based screening and wellness examinations, risk assessment, early detection and education on prevention of illness.
• Initiate timely discussions with relevant consultants/departments to arrive at the best treatment plan for specialized cases.
• Establish links with clinic management and the main hospital to ensure smooth and efficient referral of patients.
• Work closely with members of the clinical and non-clinical teams to provide patient centric, coordinated care, reduce errors and waste and create efficiency in resource utilization.
• Actively participate in clinic quality initiatives in collaboration with the clinic management and Quality and Patient Safety team.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) or equivalent
• Successful completion of at least 1-year post-graduate Internship.
• Registration by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board
• Valid Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certificate

Position Summary

The position holder will be responsible for developing and scaling services, growing patient volumes and revenue, building strategic partnerships, improving patient experience, and ensuring safe, efficient, high-quality and sustainable service delivery. A key focus of the role will be translating strategic digital and technology initiatives into practical, sustainable healthcare services—from pilot and implementation through to adoption, scale-up and ongoing operational management.

Responsibilities:

• Provide overall leadership for Home Health and Digital Health Services, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations, effective patient access and scheduling, care coordination, service delivery, follow-up, and scalable operating models.
• Develop and execute growth strategies to increase patient volumes, referrals, utilization and revenue, while identifying new markets, patient segments, revenue opportunities and channels for service expansion.
• Build and manage relationships with physicians, corporates, employers, insurers/payers, institutions, technology providers and other strategic partners to create new referral, service and commercial opportunities.
• Operationalize new technologies and technology-enabled models of care, coordinating pilots, implementation, adoption and scale-up while ensuring solutions are effectively integrated into routine healthcare operations.
• Identify unmet patient and market needs and lead the development, business-case evaluation, piloting, launch and scaling of new home-based and digital healthcare services.
• Establish and maintain robust quality and risk controls, ensuring compliance with organizational standards, regulatory requirements and applicable digital health, privacy and information-security requirements.
• Develop and manage budgets, revenue and volume targets, pricing and commercial models, while monitoring costs, productivity, contribution and return on investment to ensure long-term financial sustainability.
• Design and continuously improve seamless, accessible and patient-centered journeys across home, digital and related healthcare services, using patient feedback, complaints and service data to drive improvement.
• Develop and monitor service dashboards and KPIs covering growth, revenue, utilization, digital adoption, productivity, patient experience, quality, safety and financial performance, using insights to identify opportunities and address operational gaps.
• Build and develop high-performing teams while fostering strong collaboration across clinical, operational, commercial, digital, IT, quality, risk, finance, marketing and other support functions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare management, Business Administration, Health Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, Engineering, Operations, Technology Management or a related field.
• A postgraduate qualification such as MBA, MHA, MPH or equivalent is an advantage.
• 7–10 years of relevant professional experience, preferably within healthcare.
• At least 3–5 years’ experience in a managerial, service-line, operations, business development, digital health or transformation role.
• Demonstrated experience in business development, service growth, partnership development or commercial management.
