    Mechanic III

    Brief Description        

    To ensure world class standards of the cabin and IFE systems for guest satisfaction and revenue growth. Value addition to KQ operations and save costs

    Detailed Description        

    Accountability (Responsibility) 

    • Cabin serviceability- Close planned maintenance tasks as per the schedule. 
    • Cabin ADDs – All carpet and decorative laminates ADDs to have correct part numbers, shortage number and linked in OASES. Less than 8% ground time ADDs. Cost –Ordering required materials as per daily task demand. Adherence to the leave roster. 
    • Attendance and safety – adhering to hub control roster, identify near misses and OTI’s 
    • Aircraft fumigation and disinsection-100% adherence to the aircraft fumigation schedule and personnel roster. Issuing fumigation certificates on completion of the task. Laundry –Perform laundry duties for all cabin linen including seat covers, passenger blankets, cutlery cloth, and tablecloth and staff uniforms. Equipment operation-Perform aircraft towing, mobile crane, forklift, tractor and company vehicles operation. Aircraft painting- Perform painting and placards tasks as per the approved procedures. Aircraft servicing- Perform servicing tasks including wheel replacement, passenger door assist, oxygen charging and logistics. Stretcher installation.

    Job Requirements        

    Knowledge and Experience: Qualification (Minimum) 

    • O- LEVELS 
    • All Mandatory trainings including AVSEC,FUEL TANK SAFETY,EWIS,AIR LEGISLATION,

    Additional Qualifications 

    • KQ approvals related to tasks undertaken 
    • Current in all mandatory courses required for the role 
    • Aircraft painting Years of Experience (Minimum) 
    • 5 years of technical assistant experience Other Skills 
    • Knowledge of KCAA and KQ procedures and documentation

    Intern – Employee Service Experience & Talent Management

    Brief Description        

    The role is a customer-facing position within the HR Hub Services – Employee Service Experience and is responsible for handling of all HR transactions which includes physical record and HRIS system transactions. This position holder works closely with all sections of the HR team, processing inbound inquiries and transaction requests in compliance with the company's policies, procedures and applicable regulations. These transactions include but are not limited to onboarding, job changes, promotions, benefits administration and offboarding. This role requires strong customer service skills, communication and a comfort level with technology  

    Responsibilities 

    • Verify and execute all assigned incoming confidential inquiries and requests from internal and external parties and ensuring all required information is accurate and complete for entry into HRIS system. 
    • Process HR system transactions (i.e. new hires, terminations, position changes, non­ employee entries, supervisor changes, iSafari visas etc.) and generate needed outputs e.g. standardized letters and templates 
    • Resolve confidential inquiries or transaction requests quickly and efficiently Assist in updating employee personnel files and documentation for the entire employee life-cycle data components Review documentation on buddies and process the passes as per the guidelines. 
    • Perform other employee cycle-related duties as assigned.

    GSE Technician Painter

    Brief Description        

    To service, maintain and repair Ground Handling Support Equipment for service delivery in a safe and cost- effective manner.

    Detailed Description        

    Policies and Procedures: 

    • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, policies, processes, procedures, organization standards and local procedures is achieved so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.  

    Safety, Quality & Environment:

    • Promote and maintain a positive safety culture, healthy, secure and cost-effective operations for Kenya Airways and ensure compliance with the relevant industry/legislative requirements, GSE manufacturers’ relevant requirements and company procedures. 
    • Identify and report hazards, near misses, incidents and accidents. 

    Day-to-Day Operations: 

    • Wholly in charge of the auto spray painting activities from surface preparation to actual spray painting. 
    • Service, maintain and repair GH equipment and motor-vehicles as per the maintenance schedule for effective service delivery in a cost-effective manner 
    • Asses defects on GSE and motor vehicles, perform root cause analysis and carry out corrective measures 
    • Effectively respond to GSE emergency break downs for timely service deliver and avoid A/C delays 
    • Carry out repairs, overhauls and modifications on major equipment components which include engines, Gear boxes, and transmission systems, hydraulic and electrical systems. 
    • Identify and requisition materials for the task at hand in order to ensure timely release and availability of GSE and motor-vehicles for ground operations. 
    • Document and maintain records of all maintenance activities & equipment history. 
    • Offer quality workmanship on all GH equipment and motor vehicles in order to enhance safety & project the organization’s image positively.
    • Adhere to KQ WAY principles and best practices

    Job Requirements        

    Knowledge, Skills and experience

    • Ordinary Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Production/Plant/Mechatronics Engineering, or relevant discipline with 3 years relevant experience. 
    • MUST be an expert in Automotive Body works /Panel beating and spray painting works. 
    • Experience in Automotive/ Heavy diesel/Mobile plant environment Experience in computerised, PLC Repairs Good knowledge of hydraulic systems and electrical circuits. 
    • Good knowledge of IC engines, hydraulic systems and electrical circuits. Have a valid driving license Good diagnostic skills and ability to interpret electrical, hydraulic and relevant engineering diagrams.
