    Mechanical Fitter

    As a member of the Maintenance Team, you will report to the Fixed Plant Supervisor and will be responsible for carrying out preventative plant maintenance in a safe and efficient manner. This position is for a contract period of 18months.

    The main duties will include but are not limited to:

    1. Carrying out trouble shooting, fault finding and corrective maintenance of plant equipment
    2. Carrying out condition monitoring as required
    3. Disassembling, reassembling and reinstalling equipment in the plant using OEM manuals
    4. Recording all completed work and the parts used in the work order system
    5. Setting up fitting tools on the job at hand and instructing fitter assistants on fitting tools as required
    6. Setting up and operating workshop machines and maintaining equipment including but not limited to conveyors, elevators and pumps as instructed and as per standard operating procedures.
    7. Accurately reading, interpreting and planning work according to drawings

    To succeed you will have:

    1. A minimum of a Government Trade Test - Certificate 1 in Mechanical Engineering
    2. A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Mechanical Fitter in a similar/heavy industry
    3. Maintenance and diagnostic skills on relevant equipment
    4. Accuracy in record keeping and time keeping
    5. Experience in use of electrical and manual tools including but not limited to grinders and drilling machines
    6. The ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
    7. Knowledge of safety standards and a willingness to use protective clothing
    8. Attention to detail
    9. Proficiency in written and spoken English

    2. Be currently enrolled (3rd or 4th year for Degree Students) in a Kenyan University or accredited College or Polytechnic.
    3. Have a valid Indemnity Insurance and proof of same
    4. Not have had a previous attachment with Base Titanium
    5. Complete registration on the ITAP portal http://www.nita.go.ke/itap/
    6. Complete the NITA - Industrial Attachment Contract in full
    7. Complete the online candidate profile in full
    8. Be a Kenyan citizen
    9. Have or be a holder of an endorsement letter from a University/College which indicates that the attachment aligns to their field of study

    Graduate Trainee

    What Are Our Requirements?

    1. Bachelor of Science – Mechanical/Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering
    2. Bachelor of Science - Information Technology
    3. Bachelor of Science – Geology
    4. Bachelor of Science - Mining & Mineral Processing Engineering
    5. Bachelor of Science – Occupational Health & Safety/Environmental Science
    6. Bachelor of Science - Water & Environmental Engineering/Agricultural & Biosystems Engineering

    To be considered applicants must:

    1. Have graduated with a relevant and recognized degree within the last one year and/or be due to graduate in 2022
    2. Have (or be on track to) an Upper 2nd class honors or higher
    3. Be a Kenyan citizen
    4. Be able to produce verified transcripts
