    Chief Financial Officer (CFO / Finance / Accounting / IFRS / GAAP) - Kenya

    Job description

    A leading international advertising group is seeking an experienced assertive CFO to lead the Finance function within a market, providing financial advice and guidance to brand teams in support of the achievement of market revenue and profit targets.

    Responsibilities

    • Advises Senior Market Management on key business decisions through sound commercial judgement highlighting options, trade-offs, risks and opportunities.
    • Finance leader and sponsor of growth initiatives including launch of new business units and acquisitions
    • Drives closer integration of the group’s business units within market.
    • Embeds client profitability and excellent commercial judgement in business decision making within the market.
    • Tracks performance against internal targets and external best practice, making timely interventions at appropriate times.
    • Leads the short and long-term budgetary planning and cost management for a market in alignment with processes.
    • Visibly sponsors and drives continuous improvement/change programmes throughout their implementation to achieve project benefits.
    • Builds finance capabilities, tools and skills within a market on a continuing basis to increase efficiency and the value add of the
    • Finance team across the business.
    • Instils a sense of operational excellence and understanding of the competitive environment across the Finance teams within a market.
    • Supports the Regional Operational Finance Director, as necessary, in terms of escalation/resolution of issues and adherence to SLA’s.
    • Owns the country level Income Statement and Balance Sheet.
    • Ensures control and governance requirements are met within the market.

    Requirements

    • University Degree and an Accounting qualification, or MBA with Finance specialism.
    • 15-20 years of experience, with 10+ years of financial management experience.
    • Experience in both IFRS and local GAAP accounting standards.
    • Robust knowledge of internal control systems and implementation of such controls.
    • Experience with acquisitions and post-merger integration.
    • Experience with launching new businesses and changing overall business strategy.
    • Extensive experience of pricing and negotiation.

    Job Description

    We are looking for a Sales Manager to drive territory revenue in Kenya & East Africa. The Sales manager will have ownership of the sales territory and will be entirely dedicated to driving long term success. The ideal candidate is a highly experienced and proven sales leader with a robust network in the Electrical Market. We are looking for someone that can make a significant impact on day one by having the ability to build, negotiate and close large (complex) ad deals. You have the skills to lead, motivate and gain the respect of clients. This position is only open to Kenyan nationals.

    Responsibilities

    • Development of East Africa Strategy to meet and exceed ambitious sales revenue goals in Kenya & East Africa,
    • Set up 3 years business & marketing plans for each country in East Africa,
    • Establishing and Developing the Distribution Networks across all Key Channels,
    • Management of sales, events, and marketing strategies,
    • Specify and Implement strategies required to achieve our Sales & Profitability Targets,
    • Full coordination & Follow up with Country Support Team in China regarding the Sales orders, from the date of placing the order and up to its delivery to our distributors and customers,
    • Conduct Marketing Intelligence activities (for Kenya and each country in East Africa) required for our benchmark and pricing strategy,
    • Ensure POS growth in Kenya & East Africa,
    • Drive positive, responsible, team work and professional for high performance culture.

    Requirements

    • BA / BS Degree;
    • Fluent in Swahili & English;
    • Efficient in MS Office;
    • A wide network of contacts in the Electrical Market;
    • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Sales & Export roles;
    • Deep Understanding of payment Terms ( L/C, L/G ) & Incoterms;
    • Regional Experience in East Africa;
    • Solid Distributors’ Management Experience with the ability to build strong and committed relationships with Distributors, customers and external partners;
    • Sales Background in Electrical products & solutions : Low Voltage electrical products , power distribution, industrial control products, etc;
    • Demonstrate strong leadership in terms of execution, influencing skills, and strategic initiative development of countries sales.
