    Fire Fighter (35 Positions)

    REF: OPS /F&R/DEC 2019

    Job Purpose: The job holder provides and carries out fire and rescue services to passengers, other airport users and property.

    Employment Terms: Permanent and Pensionable

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Conducts fire and rescue services through fire-fighting in crashed aircrafts and reported fire outbreaks in buildings to save life and property.
    • Inspects vehicles, appliances and equipment to ensure serviceability.
    • Cleans and maintains appliances and equipment at the fire station to ensure they are in good working order.
    • Inspects runways, taxiways and apron for fuel spillage and FOOS (Foreign objects) and ensures that they are clean and safe.
    • Inspects the airport boundary i.e. topography to ensure their accessibility.
    • Operates pumps i.e. driving of fire engines.
    •  Participates in daily physical fitness and fire drills to ensure continuous physical fitness in the event of an emergency.
    • Washes oil and fuel spillage to ensure no fire fumes are generated by spillage.
    • Ensures maintenance and improvement of KAA QMS.
    • Any other duties as assigned from time to time.

    Minimum Qualification required for this position

    • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Grade C or equivalent
    • Medically and Physically fit
    • Certificate of Good Conduct

    Graduate Land Surveyor

    REF: PES/GLS/DEC 2019

    Head Office – I Position

    Job Purpose: The job holder is responsible for Land surveys, Engineering Survey and Land Management.

    Employment Terms: Permanent and Pensionable

    Main Responsibilities

    • Carries out field surveys and computations for topographical survey for planning, maintenance and construction.
    • Maintains land and engineering survey records.
    • Liaises with the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development and County Governments on land matters.
    • Establishes and distributes control points for surveys;
    • Prepares work plans and budgets for land surveys
    • Technical support in land disputes;

    Minimum Knowledge, Qualification, Skill and Experience required for these positions

    • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following Geospatial Engineering, Geomatics Engineering, and Land Surveying & Photogrammetry from recognized university.
    • Graduate Member Institution of Surveyors of Kenya.

    Graduate Quantity Surveyor

    Head Office – 2 Positions

    Job Purpose: The job holder is responsible for preparing preliminary estimates, tender documents, contract management, payment vouchers and claim analysis for construction goods and services.

    Employment Terms: Permanent and Pensionable

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Develops preliminary budgets, Bills of Quantities, contract documents and cost plans;
    • Prepares tender documentation;
    • Analyses contractual claims and provide advice on the same;
    • Establishes cost and financial control systems to ensure set budgets are not exceeded, analyze outcomes and write detailed progress reports on building projects;
    • Undertakes valuation of work done including materials on site, certify payments, prepare Variation Orders and Final Accounts for building projects; and
    • Any other Assistant QS related duties as may be assigned.

    Minimum Knowledge, Qualification, Skill and Experience required for these positions

    • Bachelor’s degree in building economics/quantity surveying.
    • Graduate Membership to Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (IQSK)/Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK)
    • At least 1 year post-qualification experience
