    Assistant Engineering Technician

    Job Summary

    Qualifications

    • KCSEC-(minus)
    • Certificate in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    • Computer literacy;
    • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results and;(v)Fulfill the requirements of chapter six of the constitution

    Responsibilities

    • Commissioning, testing and maintaining electronic controls;
    • Installing, and maintaining electronic and electrical equipment;
    • Interpreting technical installation drawings;
    • Operating electronic equipment;
    • Preparing installation design drawings andequipment technical specifications;(v)Making estimates for electronicinstallationsand;

    Qualifications

    Planning Officer

    Job Summary

    KICD Grade 7

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields: Economics, Statistics, Economics and Mathematics, Economics and Finance or Economics and Statistics from a recognized institution; and
    • Member of a relevant professional body;
    • Computer literacy;
    • Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution

    Responsibilities

    • Collecting, collating, processing and interpreting statistical data;
    • Implementing and monitoring of the Institute’s strategic plan and service charter;
    • Implementing and evaluating the Institute’s performance contract, master plan;
    • Developing departmental work plans and aligning them to the budget;
    • Monitoring, evaluating and reporting on progress in the implementation of projects and programmes;
    • Conducting economic analysis and strategies;
    • Preparing Ministerial Public Expenditure Review (MPER) and Mid-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) budget; and
    • Providing input in the preparation of development plans.

    Deputy Director-Educational Broadcasting Services

    Job Summary

    • Served in the grade of Assistant Director, Educational Media KICD Job grade 4 for a minimum period of three (3) years or equivalent.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies, Media science, Mass communication, Education or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;6
    • Master’s degree in Media Studies, Media science, Mass communication or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    • Leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
    • Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
    • At least five (5) years’ experience in education media/mass media
    • Membership of a relevant professional body;
    • Demonstrated managerial, administrative, and professional competence in work performance and results’
    • Exhibited a thorough understanding of National goals, policies, objectives and ability to relate them to proper management of the Electronic Media Services; and
    • Computer literacy;
    • Fulfilthe requirements of chapter six of the Constitution.

    Responsibilities

    • Overseeing the development of education broadcasting policy as it relates to electronic media;
    • Initiating the  development  and  review of  long and  short term goals for development of electronic media programs;
    • Ensuring the  designing  of  system  procedures  for  electronic media curriculum support materials;
    • Ensuring  the  development  of  programming  and  transmission schedules;(v)Spearheading research, monitoring and evaluation activities of electronic support materials;
    • Building capacity for education media producers and artistes;
    • Establishing networks, partnerships and  collaborations in the development     of     electronic     media     curriculum     support materials;
    • Ensuring the development and maintenance of databank on all statistics  pertaining  to  electronic  media  curriculum  support materials and
    • Initiating   and   facilitating   teacher   orientation,   exhibitions, conferences and workshops.

    Assistant Director, Information Communication and Technology

    Job Summary

    An officer at this level will be responsible to the Deputy Director, Information Communication and technology

    • Served in the grade of Principal Information Communication Technology Officer KICD Job grade 5 for a minimum of three (3) years or an equivalent position in the Public Service;
    • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: -Computer Science; Information Science; Information Technology; Business Information Technology or any equivalent qualification from recognized institution;(iii)Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines: -Computer Science; Information Science; Information Technology; Business Information Technology or any equivalent qualification from recognized institution;(iv)Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE); Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) or any other equivalent qualification from recognized institution;(v)At least three (3) years in supervisory role;(vi)Leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
    • Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
    • A registered member of a recognized relevant professional body; and (ix)Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results
    • Fulfil the requirements of chapter six of the Constitution.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintaining primary and disaster recovery data centres;
    • Ensuring   appropriate   data   security   and   access   controls considering both local and wide area issues;
    • Developing  systems  to  ensure  the  Institute  makes  best  use  of new technologies,
    • Developing training materials, operating and user Manuals;
    • Ensuring implementation of ICT policies and procedures;
    • Carrying out feasibility studies for areas to be computerized;
    • Evaluating systems and adherence to established performance standards;(viii)Maintaining  custody  of  computer  catalogues,  manuals  and licensed softwares;
    • Coordinating administration and maintenance of LAN&WAN;7(x)Compiling progress reports on the operations of ICT systems;
    • Ensuring compliance with database vendor license agreements;(xii)Ensuring     backup     and     disaster     recovery     systems     are maintained;
    • Coordinating    systems    development,    implementation    and maintenance; and
    • Ensuring    adherence    to    Information    and    Communication Technology Standards
