    Senior UI/UX Developer

    We are pleased to announce the following vacancy in the Digifarm Kenya Limited. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below.

    Reporting to the DigiFarm Tech Lead, the UI/UX developer will be responsible for analyzing business requirements to create wireframes & mockups that align to user stories and interface design principles. The UI UX developer will work alongside the architect, developers, and business team to iterate and create mockups of optimal user journeys.

    The developer will be required to ensure that all elements of a user experience are optimized for usability, usefulness, and exceptional visual design.

    UI/UX Developer Responsibilities

    • Developing and conceptualizing a comprehensive UI/UX design that is in line with the brand and user stories.
    • Producing high quality UX design solutions through wireframes, visual and graphic designs, flow diagrams, storyboards, site maps, and prototypes.
    • Designing UI elements and tools such as navigation menus, search boxes, tabs, and widgets for both mobile and web applications
    • Testing UI elements such as CTAs, banners, page layouts, page designs, page flows, and target links for landing pages.
    • Collaborating with the business and marketing team, and developers to ensure the creation and delivery of tailored experiences for the digital users.
    • Providing advice and guidance on the implementation of UX research methodologies and testing activities to analyze and predict user behavior.
    • Adhering to style standards on typography and graphic design.
    • Execute all aesthetic design stages from concept to engineering hand off
    • Establishing design principles + UI direction for the engineers
    • Communicating with product managers, engineers, interaction designers, researchers, and the team at large to define and implement product direction, visuals and experience
    • Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders
    • Apply design thinking and fundamental design principles to interfaces
    • Staying abreast of UI trends and looking for creative ideas and inspiration
    • Testing and analyzing recently released products/features to identify potential areas of improvement

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
    • Proven experience of design software such as Adobe Illustrator
    • Ability to clearly communicate research and design ideas to rest of the team and upper management.
    • Experience using tools such as Photoshop, Sketch, Illustrator, InVision, UXPin, Quartz.
    • Understanding of basic front-end languages: HTML5, CSS3 Javascript.
    • Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction
    • Ability to present your designs and sell your solutions to various stakeholders.
    • Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
    • Up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies
    • Three or more years of experience and proven record of accomplishment.
    • The ability to thrive in fast-paced environment.
    • Experience of working in an agile environment will be beneficial

    Senior Java & Microservices Developer

    Description

    Reporting to DigiFarm Tech Lead, the position holder will be responsible for designing & developing technology solutions that meet our business requirements and deliver the associated benefits.

    Responsibilities

    • Accountable for end to end micro-services and API strategy and roadmap with delivery as the main outcome
    • Apply architecture and design principles consistently and holistically to enable target end to end usage scenarios
    • Strong focus on DevOps use cases and workflows
    • Developing and maintaining long term business domain knowledge
    • Partner with architecture group to deliver solution blueprint and other UML base design documentation

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering /Information Technology /Telecommunications, or related subject
    • Java experience with hands on application delivery and usage J2EE design partners
    • Experience in microservices development using Java, JEE, spring, spring MVC, spring boot, MAVEN, spring cloud
    • Experience developing solutions using agile, DevOps, testing and CI/CD automation tools such as jenkins, JMeter, Git, Stash, Sonar, Qube etc
