    Programme Funding Quality Enablement Lead

    Principal Accountabilities

    • Lead a portfolio of business critical projects and quality enablement initiatives to ensure programme funding systems and models are fit for purpose to enable the movement’s long term programme funding strategy.
    • Lead on operational improvements, updates to process and simplification to drive streamlined and efficient programme funding governance that balances opportunity with risk to create impact for children
    • Collaborate with senior stakeholders and subject matter experts to align programme funding initiatives with best practices and innovative solutions, driving strategic improvements and informed decision-making.
    • Develop and enhance systems, processes, and policies to adapt to new funding modalities and markets, ensuring the organisation remains agile and responsive to global funding opportunities.
    • Ensure the governance and compliance of programme funding activities by adhering to internal policies and external regulations, safeguarding the organisation’s integrity and accountability.
    • Foster an inclusive and equitable work environment by actively promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the programme funding team, ensuring every team member feels valued and supported

    Experience and Skills
    Essential

    • Considerable experience in managing change and transformation projects, particularly within the context of programme funding.
    • Extensive experience in providing expert advice on programme funding within the non-profit sector, with a focus upon governance and process improvement
    • Extensive experience in enhancing systems, processes, and policies related to programme funding to ensure agility and responsiveness to funding opportunities.
    • Experience in overseeing compliance with policies and regulations, ensuring the integrity of funding operations.
    • Experience of working in a programme funding or aligned team within the Save the Children movement is essential given the importance of this role to driving quality in our complex funding environment.

    Desirable

    • Expert hands-on experience in project management, particularly in change and transformation projects.
    • Considerable Experience in collaborating with senior stakeholders to develop strategies and solutions that drive organizational improvement.

    Essential Skills

    • Programme Funding Expertise: Demonstrable programme funding at scale, including understanding of the evolving ODA / donor landscape, key donor requirements, conditions and compliance, across traditional grant management, and emerging funding models and mechanisms.
    • Stakeholder Engagement and Management: Proven ability in successfully engaging senior stakeholders in complex topics, driving conscensus and buy in to implement changes.
    • Project Management: Proficient in managing multiple complex projects simultaneously, with the ability to lead change and transformation initiatives effectively.
    • Innovation: Creative problem-solving skills and a strong initiative to develop and implement innovative solutions.
    • Analytical Thinking: Capable of conducting in-depth analysis to inform decision-making and strategy development.

    Education and Qualifications
    Essential

    • Education: Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience - in International development, business administration, finance or a related field or a related field 
    • Change Management Expertise: Knowledgeable in change management principles and methodologies, with experience of applying these in practice
    • CPD: Commitment to continuous professional development to stay updated with the latest trends in change management, programme funding and business development is required.

    Desirable

    • Advanced Analytical Skills: Strong capability in interpreting financial and operational data to inform strategic decision-making.
    • Governance and compliance Expertise: Strong  knowledge of compliance requirements and governance frameworks in the charitable sector, particularly in relation to funding and donors
    • Multi-Language Proficiency: While English is essential, proficiency in other languages commonly used in SCI/A programme funding operations, such as French, Spanish or Arabic, is desirable.

    Head, FMS Transition Project

    Principal Accountabilities

    • Project Leadership: Including direct and indirect management of team members and accountability to the CTO and SLT from impacted Members on delivery of the project
    • Governance and Senior Stakeholder Engagement: Define, implement and manage governance and engagement with wider senior leaders as well as setting up and managing reference groups to ensure input from key individuals has a forum for the duration of the project
    • Planning and Reporting: Including ensuring alignment with standard Project and Change Methodologies and associated Portfolio Management requirements
    • Budget Management: Define and monitor ongoing management of the budget for the project, ensuring compliance with required processes and any issues are escalated and managed effectively in a timely way
    • Future State Definition: Detailed definition of the future operating model and actions required to achieve the required change including all impacts on people, processes, data and technology
    • Dependency Management: Working effectively with wider initiatives and functions to ensure dependencies are understood and actively managed with clear owners and accountability ensured
    • Problem Solving: All projects face challenges along the way and the Project Lead will need to take a hands on role to identify issues and ensure they are effectively managed through to resolution and any subsequent impacts are reported to governance in a timely way

    Experience and Skills
    Essential

    • An extensive track record of successfully managing large and complex projects and programmes that include significant system transformation managed alongside process change
    • Demonstrable experience and in-depth knowledge of programme and project practices and standards 
    • A proven ability to deliver projects on time / on budget, using project management processes and tools including risk management, benefits management, financial management and quality assurance 
    • A proven ability to apply excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and to work collaboratively to deliver of effective solutions to project related issues. This will include taking on hands on analysis activities to support the wider team as required
    • Highly developed organisational awareness and ability to understand any sensitivities within a complex multi-stakeholder structure; and think creatively and strategically to overcome obstacles to cooperation and progress
    • Strong team leadership abilities with the ability to motivate and mobilise individuals outside their reporting line
    • Excellent communication skills (written & oral English), including the ability to communicate and influence at all levels of the organisation
    • Able to demonstrate instances of initiative that have delivered organisational benefits
    • Strong practical and hands on experience of IT Systems

    Head, Transformation Portfolio Management

    Principal Accountabilities

    • TDIT Formal Governance: Planning and preparation for all TDIT level governance including the Transformation Steering Group (delegated authority for Transformation oversight from the Management Committee) which includes senior leader representation from across the movement. 
    • Portfolio Planning and Reporting: Lead the Transformation Portfolio Management team to effectively engage with transformation projects and ensure plans and associated reporting are delivered on time and to a high standard in line with agreed standard templates and processes. Where issues are identified ensure, these are made visible to the TDIT Management Team and there is a clear plan of action to move forwards
    • Benefits and Associated Reporting including Board Level Reporting: This role will drive transformation benefits reporting to Board, CEOs and TSG. As part of this they will take the lead in defining the benefits and associated metrics essential to manage the portfolio of transformation initiatives managed by TDIT. This includes ongoing refresh to ensure they continue to be fit for purpose and ensuring the timely and quality delivery of required benefits reporting
    • Portfolio Level Interdependencies Management: This role will oversee the cross-department interdependencies, ensuring initiatives are aligned with the overall portfolio strategy in terms of planning and ensure active management of responses required including being accountable for supporting responses to transformation related audits
    • Management of Change Requests: Establishing / refining / maintaining the process for receiving and managing change requests that come from across the organisation, ensuring these are effectively triaged to enable prioritisation and impacting as required
    • Partner with wider TDIT Leaders: To ensure effectively delivery of the TDIT agenda, with a specific focus on Transformation initiatives and change requests. Examples could include supporting the Transformation Development team to manage key interventions in projects required because of issues identified through Portfolio reporting or working with IT to impact change requests received relating to existing IT systems 

    Experience and Skills
    Essential

    • Responsibility for managing a complex portfolio of transformation initiatives or at a minimum experience of leading a global transformation initiative as a Project Lead or equivalent
    • Demonstrated experience working with and leading engagements with global stakeholders across different levels of the organisation from a broad range of contexts. Demonstrable experience of acting as a ‘business partner’ to functional areas e.g. Supply Chain, Finance etc. Experience engaging with complex stakeholder groups and leading engagements with key governance bodies
    • Experience effectively overseeing the management of budgets and being able to adapt to changes where required 
    • Demonstrated experience leading large and complex transformation projects across a range of different project types including experience of industry project management standards and holding project management teams accountable to those standards
    • Ability to oversee and provide hands on support where needed to resolve complex project issues, with a balance of pragmatism and rigour
    • Experience setting up new initiatives including initial scoping and business cases and setting up and working with project governance structures
    • Experience delivering interventions to support the resolution of issues
    • Demonstrable coaching skills to help build the capabilities of others in the area of Project and Change Management
    • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment with high levels of change and quick turnaround times, whilst delivering to the highest standards. Commitment to Save the Children

    Desirable

    • Prior experience in challenging geographies that include less developed areas in the Middle East, Africa and Asia
