Department: Credit Control
Job Type: Contract – Three (3) Years renewable on performance

JOB PURPOSE
The jobholder is responsible for coordinating the debts of existing creditors and ultimately managing all money borrowed or owed to the Society by handling the collection of finances and the resolution of account queries and issuing credit notes.
FUNCTIONS / KEY RESULTS EXPECTED
The job holder is responsible for;
- To collect and follow up debts
- To identify the non-performing loans, extrapolate them, communicate to the affected members and make follow up.
- To co-ordinate debt collection and guide the other staff on debt collection.
- To write letters to guarantors and make follow up.
- To advise on credit policy according to the market trends.
- To maintain the trend analysis on loans on a monthly basis.
- To monitor loan repayments monthly.
- To ensure a uniform debt collection strategy in line with the Society’s policies to avoid reputation risk or legal challenges by following strict policies and procedures in place.
- To manage and execute the Sacco recovery and debt collection efforts.
- To monitor and rehabilitate delinquent accounts.
- To coordinate daily executions of debt follow up.
- To draft and issue appropriate notices to members requiring clearing of loans arrears.
- To manage issuance of all required statutory notices prior to engaging recovery action.
- To work closely with debt collection agencies and stakeholders to maximize recoveries.
- To negotiate and restructure facilities where such action increases chances of recovery of the debt.
IMPACT OF RESULTS
Leads to effective recoveries of any unpaid money that is owed to the SACCO from either businesses (commercial collection) or individuals (consumer collection)
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma in Credit Management
- CPA – I or Diploma in Co-operative management will be an added advantage
- Minimum two (2) years relevant work experience in Credit Control
- Computer Literacy e) Experience in a Sacco/Financial institution will be an added advantage
- Organizational abilities and time management skills
- Good interpersonal skills and high level of integrity
- Demonstrates team work and problem solving ability
- Good communication skills; both written and verbal
- Dynamic, energetic individual with good interpersonal skills

JOB PURPOSE
The job holder is responsible for providing support to the loans function by appraising loans and monitoring timely payments
FUNCTIONS / KEY RESULTS EXPECTED
The job holder is responsible for;
- To meet with applicants to obtain and compile copies of loan applicants’ credit histories, financial statements, and other financial information for loan processing.
- To appraise and advise members on loan eligibility.
- To analyze applicants’ financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine member’s financial status.
- To review loan applications to ensure that they are complete and accurate according to the policy.
- To coordinate the loan processing and advising members on loan approval status.
- To ensure compliance of loan procedures as per SASRA and other legal requirements.
- To give financial advice and information to potential clients.
- To generate periodical loan reports.
- To advise members on the status of their loan applications
- To appraise loans and explain reasons for rejection if any and the same to be forwarded to the Credit Committee for direction.
- To ensure that members whose loan applications have been deferred or rejected from loan office for not conforming to the loans policy are promptly advised.
- To ensure efficient and prompt recovery of any interested accrued.
- To maintain confidentiality of members loans and information

Overall smooth flow of the entire credit process by ensuring compliance to the Sacco’s Credit Policy.
