Responsibilities:

• Review and examine patients consistently by performing such duties as taking case histories, conducting physical examinations, and ordering diagnostic laboratory and radiology studies in compliance with evidence based practice and established protocols.
• Monitor acute and chronically ill patients’ progress on a regular basis.
• Initiate discussions with patients and care givers to enable better diagnostic and therapeutic medical care and services.
• When necessary, carry out privileged and potentially life-saving emergency surgical and medical procedures.
• Provide evidence based screening and wellness examinations, risk assessment, early detection and education on prevention of illness.
• Initiate timely discussions with relevant consultants/departments to arrive at the best treatment plan for specialized cases.
• Establish links with clinic management and the main hospital to ensure smooth and efficient referral of patients.
• Work closely with members of the clinical and non-clinical teams to provide patient centric, coordinated care, reduce errors and waste and create efficiency in resource utilization.
• Actively participate in clinic quality initiatives in collaboration with the clinic management and Quality and Patient Safety team.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) or equivalent
• Successful completion of at least 2-years post-graduate Internship.
• Registration by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board
• Valid Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certificate

Responsibilities:

• Update daily census on the computer system and ensures accurate bed allocation and billing class for the patients in the unit.
• Manage Unit admissions, transfers and discharges, and communicates these movements to the Nurse Manager.
• Ensure accurate filing of patients' records such as insurance forms, diagnostic and clinical reports as per hospital policy.
• Ensure availability of required stationery in the unit and in the nursing stations.
• Responsible for unit stocks and prompt billing of used consumables, drugs and professional fees after unit procedures.
• Assist the nurse manager with distribution and collection of Satisfaction Survey Questionnaires and is familiar with the Complaint handling System.
• Maintains open communication of available beds for admission with patient services staff and duty managers.
• Maintains physician fee for service book and ensure physicians have signed after the ward rounds/procedures.
• Handles incoming calls and routes them to the appropriate persons
• Collaborates with patient services to schedule follow up appointments for patients
• Communicate with patients about any change in their appointment schedules and consult their physicians before rescheduling.
• Responds to enquiries by visitors' staff and provides appropriate directions.
• Ensure patient records are sent to Medical Records Department.
• Collaborate with Consulting Clinic staff to make follow-up appointments for discharged patients
• Handles incoming calls and directs them to the appropriate persons.
• Works closely with security officer of the unit to control visitors.
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement projects
• Any other duty as assigned by the Nurse Manager.

 Requirements:

• Minimum O ’level Certificate
• Certificate/Diploma in Computer Operations.
• Certificate/experience in Front Office Management. 
• Heart saver certification is an added advantage.
• Minimum 2 years of front office experience in a busy organization.
• Excellent written and Verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
