    Wheel Loader / Tractor Operator

    We are seeking an experienced Wheel Loader/ Tractor Operator to join our team in Kinanie, AthiRiver.

    Responsibilities:

    • Follow weekly shift plans and daily set production schedules to execute all assigned tasks as per the work instructions. 
    • Performing Autonomous Maintenance tasks on the wheel loader daily
    • Performing Autonomous Maintenance checks on all vehicles on site as well as attachments which include windrow turners, front-loaders, forklifts and other site vehicles
    • Attend scrum meetings and other sessions called by the line manager to discuss and resolve work challenges
    • Proactively propose to your supervisor possible solutions to challenges affecting productivity, quality, health & safety in your work area
    • Lead workmen (turnboys or juniors) at your section to resolve agreed issues
    • Actively support and be involved in maintenance activities related to all site vehicles i.e wheel loader, tractors, forklifts and associated attachments"
    • Meet biweekly with your supervisor to review and set expectations for your performance
    • Meet biweekly with your reports to review and the set expectations for their performance
    • Report your sections performance against set production schedules to your supervisor on a daily basis on the established platforms  
    • Training new or existing wheel loader /vehicle drivers on the operation of all vehicles (tractor/forklift/wheel loader) and attachments
    • Work with other section leads to ensure that processes run in sync as per the production schedule
    • Lead your teammates in your section to execute daily production schedules
    • Attend and actively participate all team meetings
    • Maintain effective working relationships through treating your colleagues with respect
    • Resolved misunderstandings and report unresolved issues with suggestions to your Supervisor or talent partner
    • Report any complaints or concerns raised by existing customers or any other member of the community
    • Adhere to set shift plans and work orders. 
    • Proactively ask or seek clarification from your Supervisor on any areas of work that are unclear
    • Openly share ideas during scrum and team meetings on how current processes can be improved
    • Participate in new improvements initiatives as assigned by your supervisor
    • Use resources assigned to you sparingly as per the resource plan shared by your Supervisor
    •  Use and handle assigned company assets as per set policy
    •  Conduct scheduled Gemba walks in your area/section to identify opportunities for process improvement 
    • Coach fellow workmen and support them to understand the process and equip them to detect and/or challenges/variances in the line of their day to day duties
    • Conduct scrum meetings at your section

    Skills and qualifications you’ll need :

    • Valid driver's license with appropriate vehicle class qualifications to operate forklifts and wheel loader including attachments
    • At least 2 years experience in the operation of wheel loader and attachments (e.g. windrow turners, crawlers, trailers, wagons)
    • Diploma will be an added advantage
    • Experience in basic wheel loader  maintenance will be an added advantage

    Associate Director - Sales

    About the role

    We are hiring an Associate Sales Director under our Farm Star brand, where we sell and market our Evergrow Organic Fertilizers, Kuzapro Insect Based Animal Protein, and Evermoto biomass briquettes. The Associate Director will have full responsibility for product sales by providing strategic leadership and operational oversight to the Farm Star Country Sales teams, the Sales & Marketing Excellence team and the Sales Enablement team.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Full P&L responsibility on the Farm Star business, and all products marketed under the Farm Star brand. 
    • Offer strategic oversight and execution to grow the reseller/agro vet sales channel for Evergrow Organic fertilizer. Scale up the sales of the leading organic fertilizer brand in Kenya by 5x in the next 18 months. 
    • Lead strategy generation and execution to scale up direct sales of Evergrow Organic fertilizer and Evergrow Gold Ecocert certified organic fertilizer to middle, large, corporate farms and distribution partners in East Africa. 
    • Lead the commercial growth of the Insect protein brand, Kuzapro. Achieve >5x growth in sales to feed millers, agro vets and farmers in the next 18 months. 
    • Secure commercial partnerships and distribution partners to enable the exponential growth of our products. 
    • Operationalize and commercialize new product variants to increase margin and expand the market.
    • Liaise with the R&D and Innovation teams to operationalize and commercialize product variants. 
    • Provide oversight to the team to build data systems that lead to data/evidence-based performance management and decision making. 
    • Support the marketing teams to implement cost-effective interventions to significantly improve brand recognition across Kenya. 
    • Lead the sales enablement team to build and implement standardization across the sales and marketing teams so as to achieve repeatable and scalable performance and results. 

    Qualifications

    • Degree or higher level education in an Agricultural related course
    • Previous experience in significantly scaling up agri input sales 
    • >10 years’ experience in consultative B2B selling
    • >10 years’ experience in building and managing sales teams, preferably in direct sales with a clear track record of high performance.
    • Experience in managing managers. 
    • Aptitude for numbers and data-driven decision-making
    • Knowledge of agricultural inputs market for small and medium-scale farmers preferred or ability to learn technical knowledge quickly
    • Coachable – a desire to learn, constantly improve, and act on feedback
    • A valid driving Licence

    Job Location

    Willingness to work outside of Nairobi and travel to support the sales team approx. 60% of the time.

    Senior Associate - Senior Associate - Audit, MEC & Reporting

    About the role

    The Senior Associate - Audit, MEC, Reporting & Tax will offer analytical support to the MEC team, by leading all Balance sheet account reconciliations necessary for management accounts processing as well as for audit purposes (Both internal & external).

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Prepare Inter-company billing and reconciliation schedules
    • Maintaining audit schedules and ensuring they are submitted to auditors on request
    • Monthly VAT and other tax filings
    • Inventory management - managing stock counts and inventory valuation in the system.
    • Maintain the fixed assets register and physical verification of fixed Assets
    • Prepare ledger reconciliations and other month-end close procedures
    • Analyze ledger accounts and prepare summary reports on cause of the variances month on month
    • Review Internal Controls and propose improvements
    • Assist Manager in conducting internal audits of accounting processes and adherence to procedures
    • Other ad hoc tasks as may be called upon

    Qualifications

    • BCOM degree (Accounting,Finance)
    • A minimum of CPA 2 or it's equivalent 
    • 1-2 years’ experience in a busy Accounting/Audit environment
    • Tax Experience: WTAX and VAT
    • Advanced excel knowledge a MUST
    • Be an excellent team player/collaborator with excellent communication skills
    • Have demonstrated the ability to act decisively and resolve problems
