Major Duties and Responsibilities
The Technical Officer for Risk Communication and Communication Engagement shall:
- Support implementation of the communications and advocacy strategy for preparedness and response to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak and the vaccine roll-out programme
- Support the development/production of communication and advocacy materials and activities for COVID-19 vaccine, including health promotion events, awareness-raising campaigns, briefing materials, factsheets, and branding
- Support the design and timely dissemination of information materials on COVID-19 vaccine to internal and external audiences
- Contribute to the creation and use of content to provide information to the public through the digital platforms, including the website and social media platforms
- Support the development of culturally appropriate and acceptable messages for risk communication and advocacy on COVID-19 vaccine roll-out
- Write press releases, note to editors, as well as any briefings to be disseminated to the public through the media
- Support the preparation of different materials for the media, such as press releases, opeds, as well as regular media briefings, interviews and interactions on COVID-19 vaccine roll-out programme
- Support capacity building in risk communication for African Union Member States on COVID-19 and other disease emergencies
- Represent Africa CDC in a professional manner, which creates a positive image and enhances the credibility of the organisation

Qualifications and Skills required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications, Journalism, Public Relations and Advertising or related fields and a minimum of 5 years of relevant work Managerial experience is an added advantage.

- Master’s Degree in Mass Communications, Journalism, Public Relations and Advertising or related fields and a minimum of 2 years relevant work Managerial experience would be an added advantage
Functional skills
- Proven work experience in supporting or managing strategic and health communications at the national and international levels, preferably in the development sector

- Build and maintain effective relationships with member states, UN agencies, and other partners, in order to keep them informed on important, strategic operational Africa CDC issues
- Prepare and provide information for member states and other partners on the strategy, design, relevance and impact of programmes, to advocate the work of Africa CDC
- Provide technical expertise on partner and member state engagement issues and manage outreach to relevant stakeholders
- Work with other relevant stakeholder representatives to manage multi-country networking and opportunity
- Ensure on-going stakeholder engagement, especially the internal coordination of existing resource partners
- Support the resources mobilization (including but not limited to financial) from private sector and other partners
- Identify emerging opportunities for partnership, assess their current usage and potential for future collaboration and vet potential partnership
- Identifying best practices and lessons learned directly linked to resource mobilization and partnership-building activities
- Undertake and keep continuously analysis of donor funding streams and priorities in order to formulate a donor pipeline and strategically target donors and partners for engagement

Major Duties and Responsibilities
The Regional Programme Lead shall:
- Liaise with government focal points for defining country plans and supporting program
- Oversee all Saving Lives and Livelihoods programme implementation regionally and in member countries
- Engage with partner organisations at regional and country level to ensure collaboration and alignment between different efforts for the roll-out of COVID-19 vaccines
- Monitor and validate progress of regional implementing partners and report performance to the PMU

Major Duties and Responsibilities
The Technical Officer for Surveillance and Rapid Response shall:
- Provide programmatic and technical assistance to Member States on activities related to surveillance systems strengthening that will assist Member States in the prevention, detection and effective response to public health threats in the
- Assist Member States in implementing training on event-based surveillance and capacity building in areas of COVID-19 case detection, collection and analysis of COVID-19 data
- Collect and analyze surveillance data on COVID-19 (including, case, lab, and vaccination data) and generate timely reports that inform decision making for preventing and responding to public health emergencies
- Coordinate with the Africa CDC Division of Surveillance and Disease Intelligence to provide technical support on all surveillance related activities, including Event-based surveillance and analysis of COVID-19 surveillance data
- Collaborate with the Africa CDC Division of Emergency Preparedness and Response to support response to COVID-19 related events
- Train implementing partners in the utilization of the Africa CDC SLL DHIS2 platform for data capture, reporting and trouble shooting

- Perform any other COVID-19 surveillance related activities as requested by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Skills required
- Master’s Degree in Public Health or related fields, and a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience with special emphasis on public health surveillance and disease intelligence. Completion of a Field Epidemiology Training program would be an added advantage.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical sciences, Clinical Medicine, Public Health or related fields and a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience. Completion of a Field Epidemiology Training program would be an added advantage.
