    Technical Officer for Planning

    Major Duties and Responsibilities

    The Technical Officer Planning shall:

    • Design and refine how country consultations will transpire with individual member states, including developing template documents that will guide data collection and final outputs
    • Develop schedule of country consultation meetings and craft agenda for the meetings
    • Produce documents that outline the type and scale of support each country will receive; refine documents with additional consultations; and align with member states and Regional Programme Teams
    • Regularly monitor the progress of support provided to countries against agreed support items
    • Develop new support package to countries based on performance of implementing partners support to member states and need of individual member states
    • Represent Africa CDC in a professional manner, which creates a positive image and enhances the credibility of the organisation
    • Perform any other duties as requested by the superior

    Qualifications and Skills required

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Health Economics, and other related fields, and at least 5 years of relevant

    Or

    • Master’s Degree in Public Health, Health Economics, and other related fields, and at least 2 years of relevant

    Required skills and Competencies

    Functional skills

    • Excellent diplomatic, representational, interpersonal and communication skills, including experience with successfully interacting with stakeholders and decision- makers in technical and other professional settings
    • Demonstrated project planning and management skills for organising, planning and executing projects from conception through implementation
    • Excellent technical writing skills, in addition to narrative and financial reporting skills
    • Skills in translating highly technical information into presentations, briefings and report and funding proposals for both technical and lay audiences
    • Excellent computer skills, including word-processing capabilities, proficiency with email and internet applications, experience in using office software applications such as MS Excel, Power Point and Word
