    Inflight Service - Instructor

    Job Purpose:

    The ideal candidate will be required to organize, conduct & evaluate training & development programmes to enhance organizational and individual performance of operational personnel and commercial customers.

    Principal Accountabilities (KEY Performance areas):

    Accountability (Responsibility)

    • Design and Inflight Service training programs in compliance with industry standards, organizational needs and staff development needs.
    • Organize training logistics including preparation of learning material and venue arrangements.
    • Conduct training needs assessment to identify training and development needs.
    • Deliver training programs in areas of Inflight Service and other relevant staff development courses in accordance with the approved syllabi/curriculum.
    • Prepare, administer, mark examinations, and communicate results.
    • Prepare reports on all trainings conducted to enable continuous evaluation of training.
    • Issue certificates to qualified participants.
    • Prepare and submit accurate and complete training records within the stipulated time.
    • Review training materials to reflect company standards, regulatory requirements and applicable industry standards.
    • Maintain competency, qualification and where required certified in the subject matter required to deliver.
    • Act as internal consultant in subject matter areas and support in driving organization change.
    • Participate in the development and sharing of annual training calendar in liaison with relevant managers.
    • Create a learning culture by always engaging learners and their managers.
    • Collect participants’ feedback on delivered learning solutions and ensure regular evolution training.
    • Monitor and evaluate implementation of the trainings to ensure effective transfer of skills and identify further training needs to continuously improve performance (Level 3).
    • Support in the development, monitoring and implementation of e-learning in subject matter areas.
    • Deliver commercial training programs to contribute to the achievement of revenue generation.
    • Conduct service checks for crew in accordance with OME.

    Knowledge, Skills and experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma from a recognized university.
    • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience as a Purser.
    • Strong analytical and judgment skills as well as instructional design and delivery skills.
    • Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
    • Resilience – ability to remain calm, stable, and maintain self-control in potentially emotional situations.
    • Ability to handle pressure and difficult situations with resilience, calmly and effectively.

    Coordinator - Standards & Contracts

    Job Purpose:

    The ideal candidate will coordinate the development and maintenance of company security standards and monitor the implementation to ensure compliance with company policy and regulatory requirements.

    Principal Accountabilities (KEY Performance areas):

    Accountability (Responsibility)

    • Coordinating the issuance of appropriate and up-to-date standards and procedures, job instructions for Security operations network-wide and providing necessary guidance and advisory support for their proper implementation.
    • Conducting regular risk-based or event-driven quality management activities that identify needs and weaknesses in the Security Management System (SeMS).
    • Conducting internal audits, spot checks, inspections and tests of Kenya Airways’ security operations and control measures to confirm conformance with regulatory requirements, security procedures, standards and recommended practices.
    • Conducting audits, spot checks, inspections and tests of external service providers of security services against measurable specifications, to ensure requirements that affect the security of Kenya Airways’ operations are being fulfilled by the service provider.
    • Timely preparation of audit, spot check, inspection and test reports for management planning and control purposes.
    • Maintaining the security incident reporting system and liaising with responsible managers for appropriate closure of security incidents.
    • Participating in the review of the Security Manuals as necessary, and monitoring training to ensure compliance within security operations.
    • Coordinating security awareness programmes companywide.
    • Conducting follow-up audits, spot checks, inspections and tests to verify that corrective actions have been implemented.

    Manager - Standards & Contracts

    Job Purpose:

    The ideal candidate will be responsible for development, management and maintenance of the security standards, procedures and practices, to ensure compliance with company policy and regulatory requirements.

    Principal Accountabilities (KEY Performance areas):

    Accountability (Responsibility)

    • Developing, implementing and maintaining security standards, procedures and practices, for the purpose of determining and monitoring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
    • Determining the adequacy and effectiveness of control security measures through audits, tests, surveys and inspections.
    • Conducting regular reviews of the Company Security Programme, Regulated Agent Security Programe, and the Ground Handler Security Programme vis-a-vis regulatory requirements, industry standards and best practice, to safeguard against acts of unlawful interference and to mitigate against emerging aviation security threats.
    • Ensuring that contractual agreements with external service providers identify measurable specifications that can be monitored, to ensure requirements that affect the security of Kenya Airways’ operations are being fulfilled by the service provider.
    • Validating that all persons who are assigned aviation security duties or responsibilities are duly trained and/or certified/qualified to carry out the assigned duties.
    • Evaluating training and conducting needs assessment for staff involved in the performance of security controls and measures, and monitoring competencies of staff against standards.
    • Ensuring all security incidents/acts of unlawful interference are resolved through corrective action plans, which are implemented and monitored.
    • Identifying the causes and patterns of non-compliance’s and verifying that corrective actions have been implemented and sustained through follow-up.
    • Implement Security Management Systems (SeMS) in order to meet respective regulatory and company requirements.
    • Liaising with appropriate stakeholders for the efficient and effective implementation of up-to-date procedures and job instructions for Security operations network-wide and providing necessary guidance and advisory support.
    • Providing technical guidance and support in the preparation for internal and external audits by the Regulator and other applicable authorities namely KCAA, DFT, TSA, EU and all States of service (CAAs).
    • Ensure timely closure of any audit findings.
    • Undertaking research on matters of security interest to provide cutting edge improvements, and in support of the departmental strategic goals.

    Knowledge, Skills and experience:
