    Job Description

    Job Description

    • This position is responsible for deputizing the Director of Veterinary Services in coordinating and overseeing the provision of animal health, and animal control and welfare matters in the county.
    • Coordinating implementation of animal health, and animal control and welfare activities as deputy to County Director.
    • Participating in developing disease control strategies that ensure reduced incidences of animal and zoonotic disease outbreaks and eventually create disease-free zones.
    • Supervises and appraises staff that falls under the job-holder
    • Deputizing the County Director in;
    • Receiving and auctioning data/reports from sub-county veterinary officers
    • Coordinating all animal health, and animal control and welfare activities in the county
    • Procuring and distributing veterinary vaccines and drugs allocated for animal health, and animal control and welfare in the county
    • Ensuring timely response to disease and vector outbreaks by enforcing appropriate control measures.
    • Coordinating programs on the control of animal health, and animal control and welfare.
    • Compiling annual, quarterly and monthly reports on animal health, and animal control and welfare activities
    • Planning vaccination and other control activities and other measures for control of animal and zoonotic diseases.
    • Deputizing the County Director in managing and controlling all finances allocated for veterinary services in the county.

    Deputy Director Veterinary Services (Veterinary Public Health)

    Job Requirements

    • Masters of Science in any of the following disciplines: Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Surgery, Livestock Economics, Forensic Science, Animal Nutrition and Feed Sciences, Animal Genetics and Breeding, Clinical Studies, Veterinary Public Health, Livestock Production Systems, Poultry Science, Veterinary Anatomy, Reproductive Biology, Veterinary Pathology and Microbiology, Clinical Pathology and Laboratory Diagnosis, Fish Science, Apiary Science, Master of Public Health, Applied Veterinary Parasitology, Applied Microbiology, Comparative Mammalian Physiology, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Wildlife Health and Management, Veterinary Epidemiology and Economics, Animal Production or Aquatic Sciences from a recognized institution.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine or its equivalent from a recognized academic institution.
    • Registration and retention by Kenya Veterinary Board(KVB)
    • Have a Certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Programme lasting not less than six (6) weeks from a recognized institution;
    • Have shown outstanding administrative capability and professional competence required in managing Veterinary Services.
    • Should have served in the grade of Assistant Director of Veterinary Services or its equivalent for a minimum period of three (3) years.

    Assistant Director Resource Mobilization and Revenue

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor Degree in, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Statistics, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
    • Three (3) years of relevant experience
    • Certified public accountant of Kenya CPA(K)
    • Membership with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPAK) and in good standing
    • Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution.

    Job Description

    • Provide leadership, technical advice and assistance in budgeting formulation analysis, review and control process.
    • Coordinate with other departments on the formulation of best Resource mobilization policies.
    • Conducting resource mobilization in development of funding proposals.
    • Developing and implementing the county’s Resource Mobilization strategies.
    • Design and facilitate resource mobilization to support county business
    • Assist in Resource Mobilization budget to ensure the funds are properly expended to meet the departmental objectives in an accountable manner;
    • Accurate and timely generation of Financial Reports and preparation of special reports as required by management, stakeholders and regulatory authorities
    • Ensure timely budget preparation and compliance with approved budgets and timely reporting of the departments’ performance as well as cash flow management
    • Monitor and measure the performance results to track the milestones achieved against set targets and gauge the effectiveness of strategies deployed.
    • Assist in preparation of departmental budget and mobilization of resources and revenues.
