    Programme Analyst

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Contribute technically to the development of programme strategies in the area of ending violence against women

    1. Provide substantive inputs to the design and formulation of programme/ project proposals and initiatives;
    2. Identify areas for support and intervention related to the programme.

    Provide substantive technical support to the implementation and management of the ending violence against women programme

    1. Provide technical inputs to the annual workplan and budget;
    2. Lead the implementation of programme activities;
    3. Lead the coordination of the call/request for proposals, including the organization of technical review committees, and capacity assessment of partners;
    4. Review, coordinate and monitor the submission of implementing partner financial and narrative reports;
    5. Train partners on Results Based Management and monitor implementation.

    Provide technical assistance and capacity development to project/programme partners

    1. Coordinate and provide technical support in the implementation of programme activities; Develop technical knowledge products
    2. Maintain relationships with national partners to support implementation and expansion of the ending violence against women
    3. Identify opportunities for capacity building of partners and facilitate technical/ programming support and trainings to partners, as needed.

    Provide technical inputs to the monitoring and reporting of the programme/ project

    1. Monitor progress of implementation of activities and finances using results based management tools;
    2. Draft reports on monitoring missions, programme results s, outputs and outcomes;
    3. Provide substantive inputs to the preparation of donor and UN Women reports.

    Provide substantive technical inputs to the management of people and finances of the ending violence against women

    1. Monitor budget implementation and make budget re-alignments/ revisions, as necessary;
    2. Provide substantive inputs to financial reports;
    3. Supervise Programme Associates and Assistant.

    Provide substantive inputs to building partnerships and resource mobilization strategies

    1. Provide substantive inputs to resource mobilization strategies; analyze and maintain information and databases;
    2. Prepare relevant documentation such as project summaries, conference papers, briefing notes, speeches, and donor profiles;
    3. Participate in donor meetings and public information events, as delegated.

    Provide technical support to inter-agency coordination on ending violence against women to achieve coherence and alignment of UN Women programmes with other partners in the country

    1. Provide substantive technical support to the Deputy Representative on inter-agency coordination related activities by drafting background reports and briefs.

    Provide substantive inputs to advocacy, knowledge building and communication efforts

    1. Develop background documents, briefs and presentations related to ending violence against women
    2. Coordinate and organize advocacy campaigns, events, trainings, workshops and knowledge products;
    3. Coordinate the development of knowledge management methodologies, and products on ending violence against women

    Experience:

    1. At least 6 years of progressively responsible work experience at the national or international level in design, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of development projects;
    2. Technical experience in Ending Violence Against Women and Girls, with special expertise in women access to justice
    3. Experience coordinating and liaising with government agencies and/or donors is an asset;
    4. Experience working in the UN System is an asset;
    5. Experience in leading/managing a team is an asset.

    Language Requirements:

    1.  Fluency in English and Kiswahili is required

    Gender And Governance Analyst

    Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Manage the implementation and management of the gender and governance project.
    2. Guide, facilitate and manage the inception phase of the project
    3. Coordinate and ensure high-quality implementation of the UN Women project Annual Workplans, ensuring a feminist approach in providing technical support and overseeing implementing Partners annual workplan implementation.
    4. Manage the technical implementation of the programme and ensure synergies with other teams.
    5. Review, coordinate and monitor submission of implementing partner financial and narrative reports.
    6. Support the coordination and organization of technical review committees, capacity assessment of partners, project review and/or evaluation meetings, as needed.
    7.  Support to manage technical assistance and capacity development to project/programme partners
    8. Provide technical and policy support to country office in developing and strengthening projects/ programmes on gender and governance.
    9. Contribute the development and implementation of technical tools, and initiatives that contribute to the realization of gender and governance Annual Work Plans.
    10. Build and manage relationships with national partners to support implementation and expansion of the gender and governance programme.
    11. Provide strategic direction and technical advice on any potential emerging needs.
    12. Identify capacity building needs of partners and lead the coordination of technical assistance, mentoring, training, and capacity development initiatives to partners.
    13. Provide guidance to stakeholders on project sustainability and phase out strategy
    14. Policy review, design and develop programme strategies around Gender and governance projects.
    15. Provide technical inputs and policy support to the design and formulation of Programme/ project proposals and initiatives on gender and governance.
    16. Draft inputs to country strategy documents, briefs, policy dialogue and other documents related to gender and governance.
    17. Contribute to review of bills, laws and policies on gender and governance to ensure conformity with global norms and standards.
    18. Manage the monitoring and reporting of the programme/ project.
    19. Manage the monitoring of programmer/ project implementation and finances using results-based management tools, and feminist approach, working closely with M&E colleagues.
    20. Conduct field missions, spot checks and review reports on monitoring missions to ensure recommendations and feedback are fully implemented.
    21. Substantively contribute to drafting of internal and external reports that are results based and of high quality.  
    22. Build partnerships and support in developing resource mobilization strategies.
    23. Support to develop and implement partnerships and resource mobilization strategies.
    24. Support to finalize relevant documentation on donors and potential opportunities for resource mobilization.

    Program Associate (DG)

    Duties And Responsibilities

    1. Provide administrative and logistical support to the formulation and management of DG programmes
    2. Provide administrative support in the preparation of AWPs, programme work plans, budgets, and proposals on programme implementation arrangements, including tracking the delivery of funds.
    3. Provide administrative support to the executing agencies / responsible parties on routine delivery and reporting of programme supported activities and finances.
    4. Provide administrative support for the audit of programmes/ projects and support implementation of audit recommendations.
    5. Identify sources and gather and compile data and information for the preparation of documents, guidelines, speeches, and position papers, in collaboration with the Programme team.
    6. Provide administrative support to Local Project Appraisal Committee (LPAC) meetings, preparation and review of required documents and follow-ups with programme teams for timely disbursements to partners
    7. Follow-up with programme teams on their timely participation and provision of inputs in different coordination meetings, and file reports accordingly
    8. Support track GEWE related international celebrations to alert communications and coordination colleagues ahead of time
    9. Provide administrative support to the financial management of the DG Programme Unit
    10. Create projects in Atlas, prepare budget revisions, revise project awards and status; and determine unutilized funds and the operational and financial close of a project.
    11. Provide administrative support in monitoring and preparation of budget and the finances of programmes/projects, and in the preparation of FACE forms.
    12. Prepare non-PO vouchers for development projects.
    13. Process payment for consultants, as delegated.
    14. Create requisitions in Atlas for development projects; register good receipts in Atlas.
    15. Review to ensure all documents submitted for approval (SSAs, procurement, Tas, agreements etc.) are in line with agreed checklists
    16. Provide administrative support to the DG Programme Unit
    17. Undertake all logistical, administrative, and financial arrangements for organization for meetings, workshops, events, and missions.
    18. Make travel arrangements for the unit Team, including travel requisitions and claims.
    19. Draft minutes in meetings, as delegated.
    20. Assemble briefing materials and prepare power-point and other presentations, in collaboration with the Programme team.
    21. Support track donor reporting deadlines, AWP, procurement plans, mid-term, and annual reviews
    22. Organize and coordinate filing of documents; maintain mailing lists.
    23. Provide administrative support to resource mobilization
    24. Organize, compile, and process documentation and information from donors, and programme team as inputs to various databases and documents.
    25. Support in tracking all follow-ups required on resource mobilizations and partnership opportunities
    26. Facilitation of knowledge building and knowledge sharing
    27. Provide administrative support to the organization of training for the office staff and partners on programme and operations related issues.
