    Quality and Food Safety Manager

    The QA Consultant position is a key connection to strategically leverage the company sustainability initiatives in the context of customer opportunities. In this role you’ll be responsible for maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of the Quality and Food Safety Systems by assuring compliance, including implementation, monitoring, trend analysis, and reporting requirements through the application of appropriate regulatory, processing, and technical principles. This role will need to work with teams to develop and execute a comprehensive strategy that includes activations and communications that increase or retain sales and promote our sustainability goals. We’re looking for a seasoned individual with prior experience in a science related role to join our team.

    What You’ll Do for Us

    • Drives implementation of The Coca-Cola Quality System (KORE) and ensures products, packages, ingredients, services, fountain operations and production facilities comply with the requirements of KORE and local regulations, through directing the development and implementation of effective quality programs throughout the geography.
    • Monitors the effectiveness of Quality and Food Safety programs to ensure 100% compliance with quality principles, policies, and standards of the Company in all bottling plants through end-to-end Quality/Food Safety Assessments and ensure that corrective action/continuous improvement plans are developed.
    • Develops and implements business plans to execute company’s and Business Unit’s Quality & Food Safety strategy including compliance tracking, approval of the suppliers & consultants, review/approval of the designs with in the plant, follow-up new technologies/trends, and investigate/share the best practices and their applications onsite; offers solutions to technical problems and provides guidance on Quality & Food Safety matters.
    • Provides technical expertise to bottling partners, co-packers and other stakeholders for establishment of new plants, processes and line investments and conducts technical validation programs together with plants in order to qualify and authorize new or modified process systems and/or equipment.
    • Manages product and package quality performance in the market and improve quality and supports implementation of periodical market surveys done by bottler; conducts trade planning & management (TPM) studies annually with bottler and ensure corrective actions are completed.
    • Provides guidelines to beverage plants on various sampling requirements of The Coca-Cola Company and facilitates the plants by creating liaison between them and company/3rd party laboratories.
    • Develops new processes and quality system applications, identifies technical investment needs and monitors the effectiveness of developments in order to provide new category products manufacturing capability in bottling plants.
    • Provides technical guidance to Business Unit Marketing, Commercialization, R&D teams and Bottler Operations for new product/package launches and system/line start-ups and coordinates Bottler Team for trouble shooting of product formula related and process related problems.
    • Creates master mixing instructions and all required data for bottling plants to produce the new products in accordance with product formula and company requirements.
    • Conducts regular technical plant visits to support and monitor quality and manufacturing processes and provides an integrated technical support, expertise and guidance during the implementation.
    • Trains front line leaders for KORE requirements, laboratory analyses, manufacturing processes and quality system.
    • Builds a process for sustainability engagement with customer account teams in Retail and Food Service & On-Premise (FSOP) to identify and evaluate potential customer partnership opportunities specifically focused on increasing sales.
    • Assists in the development of a coherent customer sustainability strategy through collaboration and technical advocacy with key internal and external stakeholders.
    • Manages and/or conducts audits of fountain customers to evaluate conformance to the standards and specifications for beverage quality and food safety.

    Qualification & Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Biology or related field is required
    • 5+ years of work experience with progression of quality systems management in a manufacturing environment preferably in the consumer good industry.
    • Demonstrated successful experience and abilities in the areas of: Sustainability, scientific and regulatory affairs, Quality Management Systems and applications (ISO 9001, Lean, Six Sigma, GFSI, etc.), food regulatory and microbiology.
    • An understanding of the broader sustainability topics including areas of water, energy & climate, sustainable agriculture, packaging and recovery.
    • Must have capability to review, analyze, summarize, and interpret quality systems data, draw conclusions, interpret quality systems data, draw conclusions, make appropriate decisions and recommendations, write reports and give oral presentations.
    • Advanced analytical, problem solving, facilitation and communication skills
    • Demonstrated skill to persuade/influence both internally and externally to the function and organization.
    • System economics, value chain and supply chain finance 
    • Technical knowledge and experience in bottling operations, beverage production technology and supplier processes. Management system knowledge and auditing process knowledge 
    • Ability to understand risks and create mitigation plans. 
    • Knowledge of packaging, product, and ingredient 
    • Experience with Program Measurement and Measurement Verification are ideal
    • Experience with customer teams and audits is preferred

    Warehouse Team Leader

    Key Purpose Statement

    To manage the execution of the operational requirements of the warehouse in support of the logistics strategy in an efficient and cost effective manner so that service excellence to other departments and the customer can be ensured

    Key Duties & Responsibilities

    Manage the Operational team in the execution of all inbound and outbound movement

    • Ensure the accurate picking, staging and loading of product for the purposes of on-time outbound movement, and the accurate counting, receiving and unloading of product for the purposes of inbound movement, whilst ensuring optimal site turnaround time.
    • Ensure on time replenishment of picking and staging areas.
    • Actively work to identify and remove obstacles to improve operational efficiency.

    Manage the team in terms of stock management and inventory accuracy

    • Full product, containers, and support materials managed within storage locations as per warehouse layout, and adherence to stacking requirements per dedicated bin is enforced.
    • Execute daily decisions and prioritization to ensure customer service and operational efficiency processes.

    Manage an effective and accurate production interface

    • Ensure stock is removed from the production lines ,containers and quality pallets are fed to the production lines in such a way that there are no disruptions to the production process, and that all items issued and received are accurately signed off between Warehouse and Manufacturing.

    Manage all tasks within the standards of excellent housekeeping

    • Drive excellent housekeeping standards whilst adhering to warehouse layout guidelines by ensuring the correct product is stacked in the correct bins.

    Manage the effective care for Company assets within the team

    • Ensure the operation of company assets such as forklifts and pallet jacks within the team takes place in a safe manner, with the necessary pre-trip inspection process and reporting of damages, breakdown in place.
    • Drive the productive utilization of assets as indicated by optimal fuel usage and the elimination of abuse.
    • Manage maintenance service schedule adherence.

    Drive good product quality

    • Ensure high product quality by executing an effective rework function within the team, and adhering to the company guidelines in terms of stock rotation and First Expiry, First Out, principles.
    • Ensure team members handle product in a manner that does not impact the quality of the product.
    • Drive a strong focus within the team with regards to effective stock rotation and stock age management.
    • Record all breakages and decanting for the purpose of corrective action and improvement.
    • Record and address all substandard quality packaging and damages to maximize recovery and rework while minimizing unnecessary write off.

     Manage the effective execution of system transactions and perform end of shift reconciliations

    • Ensure system transactions are accurate and timeous, and perform an end of shift reconciliation to verify that all movements are accurate, valid and on-time.

    Implement activity based resourcing

    • Manage the team to ensure resources are aligned to activity requirements per time of day and day of the week.

    People management

    • Continuous training, coaching, counselling and support for team members.
    • Management of resources to ensure achievement of productivity requirements.
    • Planning and managing of change within the organization.
    • Effective team meetings and active resolution of issues encountered.
    • Provision of clear direction and communication of KPI's and achievement against KPI's.

    Drive effective Financial Management of areas impacting Warehouse and Distribution cost

    • Effective pay cost management by appropriate resource planning and reduction in seasonal workers and overtime.
    • Effective fuel usage through forklift optimization 
    • Elimination of asset abuse cost.
    • Optimal maintenance cost.
    • Ensure breakages are recorded and managed down, FBR's related to load accuracy managed down, achievement of operational efficiency standards as per company requirements.
    • Accountable to ensure unaccountable waste is managed down by process adherence and corrective action where adherence is not in place.
    •  Leverage information systems to drive achievement of Operational Key Performance Indicators.
    • 1Compliance to governance controls in all areas within the team.

    • Degree in any Business related field

    • 3-5 years Warehousing  or logistics experience in FMCG
    • Team player and strong decision making skills

    Payroll Specialist

    Key Purpose Statement

    The payroll specialist  position is accountable for collecting timekeeping information, incorporating a variety of deductions into a periodic payroll, and issuing pay and pay-related information to employees. The role will report to the HR Payroll and System Specialist. The role holder will mainly interact with the HR team in country and employees across the organization.

    Key Duties & Responsibilities

    • Execute on Payroll administrative activities
    • Collect and summarize time keeping information.
    • Obtain supervisory approval of time keeping discrepancies.
    • Obtain overtime approvals and load to the system for payment
    • Calculate commissions and Variable pay.
    • Process garnishment requests.
    • Process employee advances and paybacks.
    • Process and close periodic payrolls and ensuring payroll information is confidential.
    • Print and issue pay slips.
    • Process direct deposit payments.
    • Calculate and deposit payroll taxes.
    • Process employment verifications.
    • File statutory returns online i.e. PAYE, NSSF, NHIF
    • Accurately Process employee exits, calculate and pay final dues
    • Ensure 100% accuracy of payroll data
    • Manage staff account by deducting all the salary advances issued
    • Process and remit all deduction as well as the statutory payments
    • Ensure statutory compliance to law and company policy in all payments
    • Post to accounting after payroll processing
    • Ensure general ledger cleanup for all HR related accounts
    • Process payment relocation journals for intercompany salaries
    • Play governance role in all payroll inputs
    • Proper filling of payrolls and variations
    • Work closely with Human Specialist to solve employee pay issues
    • Ensure close participation to audits and effective closure

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s degree in any business related field.
    • CPA(K) or ACCA certification will be an added advantage.

    EXPERIENCE :

    • 4-5 years’ experience in Payroll administration with a large Multi-national company.
    • In-depth knowledge of Time and Attendance systems.
