    Regional Business Lead

    Reporting to the Chief Channels Officer, the role holder will develop and execute regional strategy and execute plans derived from Safaricom or the Business Unit strategies and plans. The position is responsible for execution of strategy and plans within the assigned region. The role holder ensures achievement of commercial sales and growth objectives within the region supporting Consumer, Fintech, Fixed and Digital in order to ensure attainment of Regional goals.

    Key Responsibilities

    Impact on the Business

    • Develops a local strategy and business plan in the assigned Region.
    • Creates key partnerships and ensures delivery of Joint Business Plans that drive achievement of the Region Mission .
    • Forge and leverage on partnerships at Regional level to expand the Distribution infrastructure.
    • Develop a strong competitor footprint in the area of operation.
    • Manages a diverse portfolio within region, directly or indirectly, across marketing, sales, emerging markets, technology, safety, human resources etc.
    • Responsible for achieving and growing  subscriber gross additions, churn and net adds as per targets.
    • Embed Regional Route to Customer management in respective Region.
    • Implement activities relating to front line marketing to ensure consistent growth of market share.

    Network & Customer Experience

    • Responsible for accelerated rollout plan for the Region.
    • Ensure network expansion and effective distribution in the Region.

    Customers Suppliers and Third Parties

    • Act as a key representative / liaison of Safaricom within the Region with key stakeholders such as private and public sector officials, staff, non-governmental organisations, customers, etc. 

    People management

    • Provide leadership to cross-functional team Territory Leads, Route to Customer Execution, Regional  Marketing, Financial Services, HR and Technology) to deliver Region business goals.
    • Embed coaching as a way of execution  to deliver set performance targets.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • At least 7 years senior management experience in sales in a fast-paced organization.
    • Strong general management & including capability development and managing change.
    • Should have experience in a range of group functions, marketing, franchising, financial management.
    • A proven track record in meeting revenue targets, preferably in a variety of situations so as to be able to draw upon a breadth of experience when making decisions and analyzing plans.
    • Leadership ability with strong general management skills, including strong intellectual, strategic, and analytical ability and the ability to work cross-functionally with a collaborative style. 
    • People management, with the demonstrated ability to motivate and grow high performing teams. Mentor, coach and train the management team and build the required competencies for success.
    • Strong experience in building business relationships and negotiation.

    Product Manager- Technology for Development

    Reporting to Senior Manager-Social Innovation, the role holder will perform needs analysis on social issues and market segments while developing winning products and propositions that deliver on the objectives of digital inclusion agenda.

    Responsibilities;

    Strategy and Innovation

    • Support the Implementation of innovative solutions in line with the roadmap for the Social Innovation products portfolio.

     Project Management

    • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and Quarterly reports for all products and services in the portfolio
    • Prepare documentation of all products [Gate presentations, Gate documentations, Briefing for NDAs and Contracts.
    • Manage internal Sign-offs
    • Collaborate with the Senior Manager and internal stakeholders on the project management process including conceptualization, scoping, development, business planning, testing, marketing, launch and post-launch of products and services in the portfolio ensuring that products are able to deliver social impact sustainably.
    • Develop briefs for the launch of new products and services for the marketing and events team and ensure successful go-to-market and deployment for each product
    • Ensure all launched products are properly documented and approved as defined by the products gate process.

    Business Relationship Management Lead

    We are pleased to announce the following vacancy for Agile BRM Lead in an Agile IT environment within Enterprise Architecture in DIT

    Reporting to the IT Governance Lead, the role will be responsible for managing the relationships between the IT organization and the various business units and affiliates it serves by setting and monitor strategies that will foster profitable long-term relationships. The role holder should have  a strong understanding of ISO 20000:2018, Business Relationship Management, ITIL Service Portfolio Management, with a flexible and an iterative approach to service and product development.

    Key responsibilities;

    • Responsible for the development of Tribes BRMs and to ensure successful implementation across the organization and with customers.
    • Develop solution concepts and perform business analysis, prepare recommendations on business cases and plans as needed.
    • Act as the key liaison across all functional areas, including business units, technology, internal and external partners and vendors.
    • Manage to service level agreements (SLA’S) with Business Units SPOCs for the delivery of services. Monitors and measures through metrics of operational excellence.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or other related field or equivalent 7 years work experience.
    • ITIL4 Service Management certification is desirable.
    • Breadth: Typically has 8 to 12 years of IT and business work experience with a broad range of exposure to various technical environments and business segments.
    • At least 5-7 years of experience with managing team(s) responsible in planning and delivery of strategic projects, business and product development or client management and working with a broad range of diverse and complicated business units.
    • Must be comfortable in collaborating with business leads, understanding business strategy/processes, looking for innovative solutions to drive business enhancements both for internal business users and external customers. 
    • The incumbent must possess strong business acumen. Possess strong analytical skills, including an understanding of business strategies and financial resources.

    Service Reliability Engineer

    Reporting to SRE Lead, the Service Reliability Engineer will be responsible for stabilizing production systems, improving system availability and reliability, ensuring automation of operational tasks, change management, system monitoring, incidents response and capacity planning. In addition, this role will be responsible for:

    • Ensuring operational excellence through proactively building and implementing services, including end to end monitoring, scripting and automation, modern tooling, and maintenance of software;
    • Providing software-related operations support, including managing level two and level three incident and problem management;

    • Documenting “tribal” knowledge and constant upkeep of the playbooks and runbooks to ensure teams get the information they need right when they need it and;
