    Regional Director, Procurement and Supply Chain Management Division

    Job Summary

    Reporting to the Director General, Global Campus Development and Operations, the Regional Director EA will lead the supply chain function and create a difference in the field that will contribute to the growth and success of the institutions.

    Responsibilities

    • Participate in strategic planning of the division as well as facilitate services across the division that have a significant impact on the performance and/or business outcomes of the institutions.
    • Actively participate in long-term planning within clearly defined policies, principles and objectives to facilitate PSCMD work across the institutions.
    • Establish contracts and alternate supply sources where possible to enable institutions to acquire quality products at affordable prices, terms, and lower life- cycle costs.
    • Lead key aspects of the supply chain function required for JCIA (Joint Commission International Accreditation), lean supply management and warehouse concept of “5S” (Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize and Sustain)
    • Lead, train, and develop a team of supply chain staff responsible for developing end-to-end supply chain strategies, coordinating resources, overseeing and reporting status, resolving issues and ensuring that appropriate supply Chain support is provided as needed to individual programs.
    • Work closely with the team to review and amend various business processes which include authority matrix, policies and procedures, key performance indicators (KPIs), various forms/documents etc.
    • Overseeing the management, selection and development of suppliers to continuously improve quality, delivery and pricing in a way that positively impacts the corporation and strategic management of the supplier base.
    • Establish and develop strategic relationships and partnerships with key local and international vendors that will benefit the AKDN Health institutions

    Requirements

    • Master of Business Administration (MBA) 
    • Certification(s) in supply chain management
    • At least 12 years’ senior-level work experience in a healthcare setting, 4 of which should be at a senior level. Experience in a JCIA accredited health-care institution desirable.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
    • Unquestionable integrity
    • Good interpersonal and negotiations skills: ability to build relationships among team members, senior management, end-users and external agencies and suppliers.
    • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

    Stock Controller/ Senior Assistant, Purchasing & Supply Chain Management

    Job Purpose:

    To stock, manage and supply Pathology & Radiology consignments, Medical/Surgical, Food & Beverage, Engineering, CAPEX and General stores items required by various hospital-wide, Outreach and University Centre users.  Accurate reporting of inventory held within respective areas of responsibility.

    Responsibilities:

    • In charge of the assigned warehouse and/or Sub Store
    • Service material requests from end-users.
    • Ensure accurate, timely and complete posting and updating of transactions in the system; accurate and timely issue of items.
    • Stack Items safely and neatly i.e. identifiable and traceable.
    • Ensure there are no stock-outs by pre-empting the purchaser on items running low on stocks.
    • Recommend optimum quantities of items to be replenished.
    • Receiving of inventory from vendors against Purchase Orders, verifying quantity and quality.
    • Accurate and on-time receiving and verification of invoices and forwarding to Finance for processing
    • Assist in maintaining minimum stock days.
    • Verify the quality of goods received from vendors/Warehouses/Sub stores.
    • Follow up on issues that end users have not accepted.
    • Adhere to the FEFO method of stock movement.
    • Manage a minimum value of expiries and items being obsolete.
    • Take part in quarterly stock takes
    • Reporting; Ensure daily submission of Check-list, Monthly on-time submission of ROR and QVR reports
    • Any other duties that may be assigned by PSCMD Supervisor, including support in the role of Purchase Assistant.

    Qualifications and skills Requirements:

    • Business related Diploma or Certification. 
    • Membership to Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) or Chartered Institute of Logistics (CILT) or Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) will be an added advantage.
    • Proficiency in working with MS Office – MS Excel and MS word
    • At least two years of work experience in a related field/work environment.
    • Ability to work in a team with

    • Excellent organization skills
    • Attention to detail and problem solving skills
    • Has initiative and is proactive
