    Talent Acquisition Specialist

    Job Purpose:

    The Talent Acquisition Specialist will support the Group Talent Acquisition function by identifying, attracting, assessing, and engaging high-quality talent across the Group. The role will have a strong focus on talent sourcing, market mapping, candidate research, recruitment analytics, and building talent pipelines for current and future hiring requirements.

    The role requires a commercially minded recruitment professional with experience gained in a recruitment consultancy, executive search firm, or a similarly fast-paced in-house talent acquisition environment. The successful candidate should be highly skilled in direct sourcing, candidate research, LinkedIn and other digital sourcing tools, market intelligence, and the use of data to improve recruitment outcomes.

    Key Responsibilities

    Talent Sourcing & Pipeline Building

    • Proactively source and engage suitable candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter, job portals, professional networks, referrals, and other relevant channels.
    • Build and maintain strong talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs across the Group.
    • Identify and approach passive candidates, particularly for specialist, technical, and management roles.
    • Conduct market mapping and research to identify talent from relevant industries and competitor organisations.

    Candidate Research & Engagement

    • Review and screen candidate profiles against agreed role requirements.
    • Conduct initial conversations with candidates to understand their experience, interest, availability, and suitability.
    • Prepare candidate longlists, shortlists, and profiles to support recruitment decisions.
    • Support the recruitment of senior and hard-to-fill positions through targeted research and direct sourcing.

    Talent Acquisition Analytics

    • Maintain accurate recruitment data and regularly track key recruitment metrics.
    • Prepare recruitment reports and dashboards covering areas such as vacancy status, time to fill, source effectiveness, pipeline conversion, and other key trends.
    • Analyse recruitment data and provide practical insights to help improve sourcing strategies and recruitment outcomes.

    Stakeholder & Process Support

    • Work closely with the Talent Acquisition Manager, Group, Business Unit HR teams, and hiring managers to understand hiring requirements and agree on sourcing approaches.
    • Support the smooth coordination of recruitment assignments and ensure timely follow-up with candidates and stakeholders.
    • Contribute ideas and improvements to strengthen recruitment processes, tools, technology, and candidate experience.
    • Support the effective use of LinkedIn Recruiter, AI tools, and other approved Talent Acquisition platforms.

    Requirements

    Candidate Specification:

    The ideal candidate is a research-driven and highly proactive Talent Acquisition professional who enjoys identifying difficult-to-find talent and turning market information into actionable recruitment insights.

    Education

    • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Management, or a related field.
    • Additional certification in Recruitment, Talent Acquisition, HR Analytics, or related areas will be an added advantage.

    Experience

    • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Talent Acquisition, Recruitment, Executive Search, or Recruitment Consulting.
    • Previous experience working with a recruitment consultancy, executive search firm, or search-based recruitment environment is strongly preferred.
    • Demonstrated experience in direct sourcing and identifying passive candidates.
    • Experience in market mapping, talent research, and candidate identification.
    • Experience supporting recruitment for specialist, technical, management, and/or senior-level positions will be an advantage.
    • Practical experience using LinkedIn Recruiter and other digital sourcing platforms.
    • Experience in recruitment reporting and analytics, including the ability to analyse recruitment data and generate actionable insights.
    • Exposure to working across multiple business units, industries, countries, or geographically dispersed teams will be an added advantage.

    Operator - Slitting LINE

    Key responsibilities:

    Operations & Process Control

    • Operate and monitor the Slitting Line to achieve production targets while ensuring product quality and equipment reliability.
    • Prepare and set up tooling and equipment in accordance with production requirements.
    • Monitor production parameters and make necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation.
    • Maintain accurate production, quality and traceability records.
    • Support planned and breakdown maintenance activities and perform Autonomous Maintenance tasks.
    • Monitor operational performance and proactively identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce downtime.

    Quality Management

    • Ensure products meet customer specifications and established quality standards.
    • Conduct routine quality checks and escalate non-conformities for corrective action.
    • Maintain product traceability and support quality improvement initiatives.
    • Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA), CAPA and continuous improvement activities.

    Safety, Health, Environment & Housekeeping

    Requirements

    Minimum academic qualification:

    • KCSE Certificate
    • Government Grade Test III in General Fitting, Mechanical Engineering Craft Certificate, or equivalent technical qualification.

    Added advantage:

    • Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering or related field.
    • Knowledge of Steel Processing Operations.
    • Training in 6S, Autonomous Maintenance and TPM.
    • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems.

    Experience required:

    • Minimum three (3) years' machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • At least one (1) year operating a Slitting Line, Cut-to-Length Line, Roll Forming Line or equivalent steel processing equipment.
    • Experience in steel processing or heavy manufacturing environment will be an added advantage.

    Additional Work Requirements

    • Ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when required.
    • Physically fit to work in a manufacturing environment and wear required PPE.
    • Ability to safely handle production equipment and tooling.

    Operator - Wet Section

    Key Responsibilities:

    Operation and Process Control

    • Operate and monitor Wet Section equipment to achieve production targets and maintain process stability.
    • Monitor process conditions to ensure effective pickling performance and product quality.
    • Maintain stable operation of acid handling, circulation and rinsing systems.
    • Maintain accurate process, production and quality records.
    • Support planned and breakdown maintenance activities and perform Autonomous Maintenance tasks.
    • Monitor process performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity and resource efficiency

    Quality Management

    • Ensure all pickled products meet customer specifications and approved process requirements.

    Operator - Annealing

    Key responsibilities:

    Operations & Process Control

    • Operate and monitor annealing furnaces and associated equipment to achieve production targets while maintaining quality, safety and equipment reliability.
    • Prepare furnace charges and process materials in accordance with approved operating procedures and production schedules.
    • Monitor furnace parameters and process performance to ensure product quality and operational efficiency.
    • Maintain accurate production, inspection, downtime, quality and traceability records.
    • Support preventive,planned and breakdown maintenance activities.
    • Perform Autonomous Maintenance activities including inspection, cleaning, lubrication and early identification of abnormalities.

    • Support onboarding and coaching of new operators.

    Quality Management

    • Ensure all annealed coils comply with customer specifications, metallurgical requirements and established quality standards.
    • Conduct routine quality inspections and identify product defects, process deviations and non-conformities.
    • Escalate process abnormalities and quality issues for corrective action.
    • Maintain product traceability through accurate production and quality records.
    • Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and quality improvement initiatives.
    • Drive right-first-time production and reduction of defects, rework and quality losses.

    Safety, Health, Environment & Housekeeping

    • Comply with all Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) requirements, statutory regulations and company procedures.
    • Operate equipment in accordance with approved SOPs, Risk Assessments, Permit-to-Work systems and LOTOTO requirements.
    • Identify, report and address unsafe conditions, hazards, near misses and environmental concerns.
    • Participate in safety inspections, toolbox talks, emergency drills and safety improvement initiatives.
    • Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with 6S housekeeping standards.
    • Exercise stop-work authority where activities present a risk to people, equipment or product quality.

    • Experience in continuous manufacturing operations will be an added advantage.

    Operator - Rewinding LINE

    Key responsibilities:

    Operations & Process Control

    • Operate and monitor the Rewinding Line safely and efficiently to achieve production targets.
    • Verify incoming coil identification, dimensions and customer specifications before processing.
    • Adjust machine parameters including line speed, strip tension and side guiding to maintain product quality.
    • Inspect strip surface continuously for defects such as scratches, dents, rust, oil stains, edge damage and telescoping.
    • Ensure finished coils meet customer requirements for tightness, shape, dimensions and appearance.
    • Record production quantities, downtime, defects and material traceability information.
    • Carry out routine operator maintenance and daily inspections.
    • Support maintenance activities during scheduled shutdowns and breakdowns.
    • Minimize downtime through early identification and reporting of equipment abnormalities.

    Quality Management

    • Ensure finished coils comply with customer specifications and quality standards.
    • Perform visual inspections before, during and after rewinding.
    • Verify coil weight, width, thickness and identification labels.
    • Identify and segregate non-conforming material.
    • Maintain full product traceability throughout the process.
    • Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and quality improvement activities.
    • Reduce coil handling damage and processing defects.
