    Trainer – Counseling Psychology

    Job Objective

    • The Trainer will facilitate training in Counseling Psychology, supporting learner development, and contributing to the continuous improvement of the University’s professional and technical training programmes.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Train and facilitate learning through trainings, seminars, workshops, tutorials and other learning tasks as assigned by the supervisor from time to time;
    • Participate in the development, administration and marking of exams, practical tasks, assignments and continuous assessment tests;
    • Participate in the development and implementation of academic policies, guiding principles, objectives and functions in accordance with the vision of the Institute;
    • Assist in developing learning materials, preparing schemes of work and maintaining records to monitor student progress, achievement and attendance;
    • Undertaking research to inform the development/ review of curriculum and validation of learning resources;
    • Assist in requisition and management of inventories, realia, tools and equipmentused as learning resources;
    • Provide advice, guidance and feedback to trainees to support their professional progress and refer students to support services as appropriate;
    • Participate in supervision and assist students in their practical work;
    • Contribute and participate in the development of departmental seminars aimed at sharing research outcomes and building interdisciplinary collaboration within and outside the Department;
    • Nurture trainees’ creativity and innovation through active involvement in trainees’ contests, trade fairs and projects;
    • Create industry linkages to support experiential learning, training excursions and attachments;
    • Contribute to departmental, institute and/or University-wide meetings, working groups or committees as and when requested to do so;
    • Undertake continuous professional development and participate in staff development and other training activities as required by regulators to update and   enhance skills;
    • Maintain proper records of students’ examinations, assignments, practical tasks and continuous assessment tests and ensure they are keyed in the examination records management system in time;
    • Undertake any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.

    Qualifications And Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Counseling Psychology or related Discipline from an accredited/recognised institution;
    • Registered Trainer with Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA).
    • At least two (2) years’ teaching experience at tertiary level(or its equivalent) or 3 years of industry-based experience;
    • Certificate of an approved Trainer of Trainers course.
    • A professional qualification or affiliation with a professional association is an added advantage.

    Other Skills And Competencies

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent presentation skills.
    • Critical thinking skills.
    • Time management skills and attention to detail.

    Trainer – Supply Chain Management

    Job Objective

    • The Trainer will facilitate training in Supply Chain Management, supporting learner development, and contributing to the continuous improvement of the University’s professional and technical training programmes.
