    Treasury & Compliance Accountant

    Responsibilities

    An Accountant, Senior performs the more complex accounting functions in a variety of different settings throughout the Church. In general, incumbents in this position perform the following types of functions:

    • Initiate general ledger file maintenance so that financial statement presentations will be accurate and meaningful.
    • Reconcile accounts, review reconciliations, and make sure that all outstanding items are properly cleared.
    • Prepare special studies and reports for departments and organizations as required.
    • Prepare journal entries and other adjustments to correct errors.
    • Analyze budget requests and explain any budgetary changes resulting from increased costs or changes in programs.
    • Consolidate accounting information for use in accounting statements and summaries.
    • Review expenditures against budget and make necessary reconciliations, investigations, and correcting entries.
    • Assist in preparing various financial estimates and expense reports.
    • Draft correspondence to appropriate parties regarding any differences that require investigation or further action.
    • Review and monitor invoices submitted for payment which exceed certain dollar amounts as defined by policy.
    • Audit project accounts for compliance to policy and correspond with appropriate parties regarding the status of these projects.
    • Assist in evaluating and motivating employees under the direction of a supervisor.
    • May coordinate accounting matters with other departments, locations, and divisions.
    • Act as a resource for Accountant 1 and Accountant 2 incumbents being trained in Church accounting systems.

    Qualifications

    • Must be worthy to hold a current temple recommend
    • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business management; majoring in financial accounting.
    • Professional qualification and membership in any relevant professional bodies such CPA(K), ACCA, CISA etc
    • Incumbents must understand the accountant code of conduct, demonstrate a well-grounded knowledge of financial and accounting theory and policies and procedures, including a knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
    • Must have a minimum of four to six years of professional accounting experience
    • Must have extensive experience in the use of computerized accounting systems
    • Must have a knowledge of, and extensive experience in computer skills, including MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint. Experience with Oracle or PeopleSoft will be an added advantage
    • Must have the ability to analyze and understand complex accounting problems, financial reports
    • Must have the ability to develop an accounting system to mitigate risks

    Mgr, Area Temple Facilities

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for hiring, development, and performance management of Temple Facilities Services team. Enhance job knowledge, skill levels and performance of Temple Facilities Services team by providing on-site and remote training, coaching, and mentoring.
    • Responsible for producing temple maintenance guides and materials; researching, testing and sponsoring implementation of improved maintenance methods, systems, and equipment.
    • Responsible for creation and execution of annual plan, managing operational costs, maintenance, preventative maintenance and repair of electrical, mechanical, audio-visual, and computer systems.
    • Responsible for department labor costs (contract and employee) and third party relationships.
    • Provide input on the design of new temples and in the renovation and improvements of existing temples.
    • May directly report to and sit on the DTA’s Area Council.
    • Performs any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

    Qualifications

    • Must be worthy to hold a current temple recommend
    • Four year degree in facilities management , building industry, or related  10 years of experience in the facilities management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Preferred: Master degree and experience working in a temple
    • Broad understanding of facilities systems and processes.
    • Requires the ability to communicate clearly and concisely both oral and written.
    • Requires a technical understanding of natural resource use and development and strong interpersonal skills.

    Real Estate Proj Mgr 2

    Responsibilities

    • Responsibilities include the personal execution as well as the management of Church and contract professionals to identify, evaluate, acquire, dispose, manage, negotiate, lease, close, and otherwise conduct activities related to Church real estate interests.
    • Manage projects and professional services providers (corporate services and other disciplines and support processes); prepare/review binding legal documents.
    • Provide technical real estate advice and be a resource for customers and priesthood leaders.
    • Analyze, prepare and deliver presentations for approvals.
    • Project management report meetings/administrative dutiesReal Estate Manager (REM) will establish the limits of REPM 2 responsibility based on:transaction type, scope, and complexity
    • Intermediate required negotiation expertise church department or entity/customer (e.g. Missionary, Welfare, FRI, etc.)medium potential impact/risk.
    • Reports to REM; Work reviewed by REPM 3 and/or REM; Interface with peers in other departments or disciplines.
    • To provide opportunities for individual development, the REM may approve the temporary assignment of selected REPM 3 level responsibilities or tasks, as appropriate. With REM approval, the REPM 1 may mentor or train an RES, REA, or REPM 1.
    • Any other assigned duties by the supervisor

    Qualifications

    • Must be worthy to hold a current temple recommend
    • Required Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience in Real Estate-related fields.
    • Real estate-related Licensing/Certifications (e.g. broker, agent, property title, escrow, attorney, etc.), or equivalent certification in non-U.S. country.
    • Five (5) – seven (7) years of demonstrated expertise in real estate transactions, including site identification and analysis, negotiations, contracts, leases, site evaluations, appraisals, title reports, property closings and applicable governmental requirements.
    • Excellent communication skills in English both written and spoken. Ability to speak French will be an added advantage.
    • Computer skills include advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite

    Planning Analyst

    Responsibilities

    • For assigned projects, completes detail analysis and research, identifies options, prepares reports, and recommends action or change.
    • Communicates with headquarters and field personnel concerning daily customer issues and reporting.
    • Assists in the administration of annual plans for other Church departments.
    • Conducts analysis and research in such areas as, financial, expenses, performance, depreciation, systems, and capacity. Prepares forecasts and analyzes trends, general business conditions , and other business related areas.
    • Performs tasks assigned by senior managers.
    • Facilitates improvements in business systems that will enable better customer service.
    • Creates reports & presentations, analyzes data, attends meetings, etc. Creates queries and provides data to customers in an understandable format.
    • Resolves system questions and issues for users in various divisions and departments (Planning, Project Management, Real Estate, Finance, Regional Facilities Managers, DTA's, etc.). Updates key information in database. Reconciles financial data between multiple sources.

    Qualifications

    • Must be worthy to hold a current temple recommend
    • Bachelors degree in related field Four years appliable experience, or any combination of related education and experience 
    • Proficiency with Power BI, Access, Power Point, Excel, and Word is required. 
    • Capable of performing detailed, technical data analysis along with the use of business processes is essential. 
    • Must be able to communicate effectively, both written and orally in French and English
    • Must be able to keep confidences and deal with sensitive data and documents appropriately.
