    Senior Durable Solutions Assistant

    Duties

    • Provide counselling to refugees and other persons of concern (POC) about their durable solutions needs. 
    • Interview candidates for voluntary repatriation and prepare documentation for their return, in line with Voluntary Repatriation SOPs. 
    • Interview candidates for local integration and prepare the appropriate documentation for onward submission to local authorities or partners, in line with Local Integration SOPs. 
    • Participate in identifying resettlement needs of refugees, in line with Resettlement SOPs. 
    • Assist in updating the electronic database for resettlement, voluntary repatriation and local integration, in line with Standard Operating Procedures. 
    • Process documentation to ensure that POC receive the documents required for their durable solutions in a timely manner.
    • Prepare statistical and ad-hoc reports to ensure accurate information is available and shared with relevant offices and partners.
    • Interview and advise on the appropriate durable solution to be provided to POC. 
    • Prepare documents relating to durable solutions.
    • Enter information into available database, in line with SOPs.
    • Perform other related duties as required.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • For G5 2 years relevant experience with High School Diploma; or 1 year relevant work experience with Bachelor or equivalent or higher

    Associate Admin Officer

    Terms of Reference

    • The Associate Administrative Officer is responsible for supporting the Office/Bureau in the implementation of general administrative and resource management tasks. S/he will work quite independently on regular assignments with an oversight from the supervisor, who will provide general guidance and work plans for identifying work priorities and appropriate approaches; work is controlled for meeting expected results.
    • S/he will establish and maintain efficient administrative control mechanisms to ensure compliance with UN administrative, financial and human resources rules and procedures. Contacts on administrative/budgetary related issues are mainly with Sections/Units/Offices within the organization both at HQ and in the Field and with local suppliers/services to ensure provision of services and resolution of difficult problems.
    • Frequent external contacts with counterparts in other organizations or at working level in national Governments on issues of importance to Organization’s programmes. He/she acts as adviser or focal person of the Organization with authority to discuss problems and seek common ground on which to recommend solutions based on predetermined guidelines provided by the Head of Office.

    Protection Assistant

    Duties

    • Consistently apply International and National Law and applicable UN/UNHCR and IASC policy, standards and codes of conduct.
    • Observe and respect protection related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
    • Provide functional and administrative support in all protection related AGD based programming with implementing and operational partners.
    • Provide functional and administrative support in implementing participatory approaches, needs assessments, monitoring, reporting and case management.  
    • Support assessments on durable solutions through voluntary repatriation, local integration and where appropriate, resettlement.
    • Facilitate liaison with competent authorities for the issuance of personal and other relevant documents. 
    • Assist in drafting reports, routine correspondence, updating relevant databases and compiling statistics within the Area of Responsibility (AoR).
    • Select PoC for preliminary interviews and decide which relevant information to share.
    • Enforce integrity in the delivery of protection services by local implementing partners.
    • Perform other related duties as required.

    Community-Based Protection Associate

    Duties

    • Assist functional units, the Multi-Functional Team (MFT) and senior management to integrate participatory and community-based approaches in the overall protection strategy and operational procedures.
    • Through relationships with PoC and network of partners, stay abreast of political, social, economic and cultural developments that have an impact on the protection environment and provide advice to the protection team. Understand the perspectives, capacities, needs and resources of the PoC and advise the protection team accordingly, highlighting the specific protection needs of women and men, children, youth and older persons, persons with disabilities, marginalized groups.
    • Work with host communities to identify opportunities for national civil society involvement in improving the protection of PoC.
    • Work with implementing and operational partners as well as with displaced and local communities to develop community-owned activities to address, where applicable, the social, educational, psycho-social, cultural, health, organisational and livelihood concerns as well as child protection and prevention and response to GBV.
    • Assist in the analysis that identifies the capacities of communities of concern and risks they face. 
    • Support participatory assessments by multifunctional teams and ongoing consultation with PoC. 
    • Assist in planning and monitoring of programmes and budgets, with an AGD perspective
    • Build office capacity for community-based protection through training and establishing systems for community mobilization and participation of PoC.
    • Support communities in establishing representation and coordination structures.
    • Ensure community understanding of UNHCR's commitment to deliver on accountability and quality assurance in its response.
    • Act as an interpreter in exchange of routine information, contribute to related liaison activities and respond directly to routine queries.
    • Contribute to the enforcement of participatory AGD sensitive analysis as an essential basis for all of UNHCR's work.
    • Initiate AGD sensitive interventions at the appropriate level on community-based protection issues and to respond to protection concerns and incidents within the office, with external interlocutors, groups and individuals based on agreed parameters.
    • Identify and select which individuals or groups to prioritize for counselling and field visits based on agreed criteria. 
    • Intervene with authorities on protection.
    • Enforce compliance of implementing partners with global protection policies and standards of professional integrity in the delivery of protection services.
    • Recommend and prepare payments to individual cases.
    • Perform other related duties as required.

    Reporting Assistant

    Duties

    • Stay abreast with the operational developments and assist in the preparation of briefing notes and reports.
    • Assist in consolidation of data and facilitate the preparation of periodic reports including Sitreps, Fact Sheets and other activity specific reports. 
    • Update regularly the relevant information tracking system(s). 
    • Provide administrative assistance and support in routine services and activities within the unit
    • Liaise with internal and external partners to gather information.
    • Work closely with Information Management Unit to ensure accurate and standard data presentation.
    • Prepare and distribute meeting minutes. 
    • Consolidate and provide inputs for donor reports.
    • Perform other duties as required.
