    Urologist

    Job description

    • M.P Shah Hospital is looking to recruit a professional and evidence-driven person for a vacancy in the Surgery Division, as the Urologist.
    • Reporting to the Head of Department Surgery, the overall purpose of this job is to attend to patients who are presented to the surgery department, make important decisions regarding their immediate management/ considerations/referrals and take general responsibility for the day-to-day running of the department.

    Responsibility

    • Strategy, policy and processes implementation - Oversee the department by providing leadership and direction in the development and implementation of effective surgery strategies, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the regulatory bodies and ensure sustainable growth of the department.
    • Quality Assurance - Provide guidance and facilitate the development and implementation of quality assessment plans by monitoring the overall quality of the total testing process and ensuring continuous improvement of the surgery’s performance and services. Ensure appropriate documentation is completed and maintained.
    • Carry out patient assessment, treatment and stabilization and other specialized procedures in order to provide curative services in line with established protocols and promote patient centricity including providing clinical support during emergencies including resuscitation, admission, discharge or referral to the appropriate consultants and units.
    • Contribute to the departmental clinical quality assurance system, including regular clinical audit, review of patient care (length of patient stay, mortality and morbidity reviews, audit, regular clinical meetings) to ensure quality to services provided to patients.
    • Lead in clinical audit and proactive risk management and facilitate production of all data/information required for same in accordance with regulatory, statutory and corporate policies and procedures.
    • Research and Development - Actively involved in a wide range of research and development initiative areas and create awareness of the hospital as having research programs that are at the forefront of science in patient care.
    • Facilitate the provision of safety conditions by monitoring physical and environmental conditions in the hospital to ensure safety from physical, chemical and biological hazards
    • Work with the established consultants/specialist to ensure equitable provision of surgery services across the whole of the hospital. This will include collaborative working, mutual cover for annual and study leave, and ensuring adherence to principles of clinical governance
    • Administrative and Management Responsibilities- Provide effective and efficient management and administration services including budget planning and control, manpower and resource planning to ensure smooth running of the department
    • Learning and Development – Support learning and development initiatives by identity skills gaps and providing learning and development opportunities for the medical and surgery staff. Plan and direct learning and development appropriate to the department.

    Qualifications

    • Masters in medicine or equivalent qualification in the field of Surgery from a recognized institution.
    • Bachelors’ Degree in Medicine and Bachelors in Surgery from a recognized institution.
    • Must have valid membership and hold a valid practicing license in the relevant field from Board.
    • Minimum of 5 years working experience with 2 years at senior management level in the healthcare sector.

    Night Nurse Supervisor

    Job description

    MP shah Hospital is seeking an experienced and dynamic Night Nurse Supervisor to oversee the hospital’s operations during the night shift.

    Reporting to the DCNO, this role is primarily responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of all departments, upholding high standards of patient care, and addressing any emergencies or issues that occur during the night shift. The position involves supervising staff, coordinating interdepartmental activities, and ensuring adherence to hospital policies and procedures.

    Responsibility

    Leadership and Management:

    • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff performance during the night shift.
    • Conduct effective shift handovers and ensure clear communication between day and night teams.
    • Address and resolve any conflicts or operational issues that arise.
    • Ensure adequate staffing levels and make adjustments to assignments to meet patient care needs.

    Patient Care:

    • Oversee the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care throughout the night shift.
    • Monitor patient conditions and ensure appropriate nursing interventions.
    • Respond promptly and effectively to patient and family concerns or complaints.
    • Oversee patient admissions, transfers, and discharges during the night.

    Operational Management:

    • Manage daily clinical operations during the night shift.
    • Ensure the availability and proper functioning of necessary equipment and supplies.
    • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
    • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and shift activities.

     Quality Improvement:

    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
    • Collect and analyze data to evaluate night shift operations and patient outcomes.
    • Implement and monitor changes to improve the quality of care provided during the night.

    Emergency Response:

    • Coordinate and manage emergency situations, including code responses, during the night shift.
    • Ensure staff are trained and prepared to respond to emergencies.
    • Collaborate with on-call physicians and healthcare professionals during emergencies.

    Interdepartmental Coordination:

    • Ensure smooth coordination and communication between departments and units.
    • Serve as the point of contact for administrative decisions and problem-solving during the night.
    • Foster collaboration between nursing, medical, and support staff for comprehensive patient care.

    Staff Development:

    • Facilitate the professional development of nursing staff.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
    • Identify and address staff training and education needs.

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
    • Experience working night shifts is preferred.
