Project deliverables:

1. Engage with CDTD’s staff and conduct an industry review to develop a Protection and Risk Assessment Tool for Shelter Management for CDTD, Staff Confidentiality Policy, and Partnership Agreement for Shelter Management.
2. Develop and deliver Protection and Risk Assessment Tool for Shelter Management for CDTD, Staff Confidentiality Policy, and Partnership Agreement for Shelter Management.
3. Conduct a Two-day staff training on the developed Protection and Risk Assessment Tool for Shelter Management for CDTD, Staff Policy and Partnership Agreement for Shelter Management
4. Document and package the developed documents as per the assignment in an easy-to-read and understood format.

Duration:

• This assignment is to be delivered within 10 working days after contracting.

Qualifications and competencies:

• Proven experience in the field of Risk Assessment is a MUST and any other tools/policy of engagement such as; Partnership Contracts, Memorandum of Understanding, Staff Policy, and Code of Conduct documentation within Kenya.
• Experience in developing strategies, tools, or policies for NGOs is an added advantage.
• Minimum of a degree in the relevant field of Social Studies, Law, International Relations, Public Policy, or its equivalent.
• Those with a post-graduate qualification in the relevant field shall have an added advantage.
• Ability to communicate fluently and write in English in a manner that can be understood by executives, management, and program officers.

Project background:

In 2022, CDTD was selected as a beneficiary of the URAIA Trust, Women Voice and Leadership (WVL) program, funded by the Global Affair Canada (GAC) through CARE International and CARE Kenya. The WVL project is anchored on Canada’s Feminist International Assistance Policy (FIAP) which puts gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls at the heart of international development, humanitarian peace and security. The overarching goal of the project is to contribute to gender equality and the increased enjoyment of human rights on women and girls in Kenya. WVL’s objective is to strengthen Women Rights Organizations (WROs) in Kenya to enhance their governance, management, programming, and sustainability by enhancing their ability to deliver quality services and increasing the effectiveness of their platforms to effect policy, legal and social change.

Assignment Objectives:

In this regard, CDTD is seeking the services of a qualified consultant or individual to enhance CDTD’s ability to resource mobilize by developing a Resource Mobilization Strategy. The strategy’s objective is to enable CDTD to pull collaborative partnerships to support organizational sustainability and allow for improvements and scale-up the organization’s service delivery to its beneficiaries.

Project deliverables:

1. Work with CDTD staff to develop a resource mobilization strategy/ plan.
2. Document and package the strategy in an English easy to read and understand format.

Duration:

• The strategy is to be delivered within 2 working days after contracting.

Qualifications and competencies:

• Proven experience in the field of resource mobilization with tangible successes in local or global contexts.
• Experience in developing strategies for NGOs.
• Minimum of a degree in the relevant field of development studies, community engagement, finance, grant management or its equivalent.
• Ability to communicate fluently and write in English in a manner that can be understood by the executive, management, and program officers.

Assignment Objectives:

In this regard, CDTD is implementing the Kenyan chapter and is seeking the services of a qualified consultant or individual to enhance CDTD’s and of its partner’s ability to know and understand the various government-led initiatives to support shelter services in Kenya.

Project deliverables:

1. Develop a scoping report that details the existing government training funds and opportunities that exist to support shelter services in Kenya.
2. Use the report in (i) to engage CDTD’s partners (virtually) under the National Shelters Network (NSN) program in sensitizing shelter providers of the existing government-led initiatives to support shelter services in Kenya. (e.g., KYEOP, KUCCPS, Youth Fund, Women Fund, NYS, Defense forces, police, and prisons recruitment, HELB, etc.).

Duration:

• This assignment is to be delivered within Two working Days post contracting and the virtual engagement to be conducted in less than 2hours.

Qualifications and competencies:

• Proven experience in the field of Public Administration, Public Policy, Human Rights, Labor and International Law.
• Experience in scoping, mapping, and research in a Kenyan NGO is an added advantage.
• Minimum of a degree in a relevant field of Social Studies, Human Rights Law, International Relations, Public Policy, Public Administration or its equivalent.
• Those with a post-graduate qualification in the relevant field shall have an added advantage.
• The consultant or individual should have exceptional communication and writing skills (English) in a manner that can be understood by an executive, management, and program officers.
