    COVID-19 Vaccination Technical Specialist – Busia

    Job Summary:

    Reporting to the Technical Coordinator, the Technical Specilist will support one county and oversee one team comprising three COVID-19 Vaccination Technical Officers within three counties to ensure optimal COVID-19 vaccination uptake and increased coverage by at least 9% per month. This role will support the Technical Assistance to Ready and Accelerate Capacities of Public Health Programs in Kenya (TRACK) program in achieving its deliverables within the specified counties.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Participate in the target setting for COVID-19 vaccine rollout in the counties assigend.
    • Ensure optimal coordination of COVID-19 vaccination at the county, sub-county, and facility level for an increased vaccination coverage of 9% per month amongst the target population.
    • Provide facility level mentorship within the health facilities to effect a 70% increase in COVID-19 vaccination level by embracing a health systems approach to enhancing vaccine uptake.
    • Identify missed opportunities for COVID-19 vaccination and design strategies to address these.
    • In liaison with the county vaccines coordinator, ensure COVID-19 vaccines commodity management is optimal by ensuring COVID-19 vaccines are collected at the respective regional stores and distributed to the sub-counties and to health facilities on time.
    • Coordinate COVID-19 vaccination outreaches monthly working with CHMT, EPI and xxxx
    • Ensure that 100% and timely reporting of COVID-19 vaccinated individuals on MoH Chanjo.
    • Support advocacy, communication, and social mobilization activities within the county for optimal COVID-19 vaccination uptake, including coordination of stakeholders’ meetings and community dialogue forums.
    • Liase with the county health management teams in assigned counties to, plan for and conduct performance review meetings monthly to assess the county performance against set targets.
    • Administratively, this position will verify all activity reimbursements before payment
    • Represent Ciheb-Kenya in a professional manner, which creates a positive image and enhances the organization’s credibility.
    • Perform any other duties as requested.

    Skills and Experience:

    • Education: Degree in Nursing, Clinical Services, Public Health, or any health-related degree.
    • Experience: At least three years of experience working with the county governments in a coordination role.
    • Experience providing technical assistance on immunization at the national or county level will be an added advantage. Experience working in a donor-funded program.
    • Travel: Ability and willingness to travel within specified counties in Kenya.

    Competencies:

    • Ability to lead and provide mentorship to a team
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks concurrently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and quality, is required
    • Experience working with in-country EPI or county system and a strong understanding of immunization programmatic, operational, and field realities are preferred
    • Self-motivated, strategic, and creative problem-solver who can respond quickly to evolving priorities
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze, assess, and organize information and effectively communicate to a diverse audience
    • Excellent organization and communication skills
    • Ability to be highly productive with minimum oversight and while working independently

    COVID-19 Vaccination Technical Officer

    Job Summary:

    Reporting to the COVID-19 Vaccination Technical Specialist, the Technical Officer will oversee activities within a county to ensure optimal COVID-19 Vaccination uptake and increased coverage by at least 9% per month.     Data Officer – Nairobi (1 Position)

    Job Summary:

    Reporting to the M&E Specialist, the Data Officer will be responsible for documenting and compiling timely program data and reporting activities at Ciheb-Kenya supported counties under the Technical Assistance to Ready and Accelerate Capacities of Public Health Programs in Kenya (TRACK) program.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Support SI activities for COVID-19 vaccination within allocated counties to ensure completeness of data in the Chanjo system and TRACK dashboard
    • Contribute to developing and implementing M&E data tools for MoH and Ciheb-Kenya program areas. Help in developing data tools for routine data collection for the program data.
    • Monitor and validate data quality in all the TRACK Dashboard and Chanjo System in use within supported counties.
    • Review and verify MoH- Chanjo and program data for external and internal stakeholders.
    • Work closely with County Health Management Team (CHMT) to compile reports when required.
    • Build capacity through training and mentorship programs for all HRIOs in the counties supported.
    • Support in developing visualizations for data consumption and inform program progress using either Power BI/Tableau.
    • Attend designated SI meetings at the program or county level.
    • Work closely with the M&E Specialist to support data activities in the supported counties.

    Skills and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Biostatistics, computer science/IT, epidemiology, or mathematics
    • At least three years of relevant experience in a similar/related position in a USG funded program.
    • Experience in working with MoH systems
    • Proficiency in the use of Power BI/ Tableau
    • Strong Data management and analysis skills
    • Strong SQL Data management skills
    • Proficiency in computer packages for generating and analyzing reports. Experience in the use of visual analytics tools is an added advantage
    • Proficient in statistical analysis packages (SPSS/STATA/R etc.)
    • Travel: Ability and willingness to travel within specified counties in Kenya

    Program Assistants (4 Positions)

    Job Summary:

    Reporting to the Program Specialist, the Program Assistants will be responsible for providing administrative support to team members throughout the planning and implementation of COVID-19 vaccination activities within assigned counties under the CIHEB-Kenya’s Technical Assistance to Ready and Accelerate Capacities of Public Health Programs in Kenya (TRACK) program.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Processing payments for participants and vendors to ensure timely reach to the finance office for settlement.
    • Supporting in the procurement processes to ensure the timely engagement of vendors before activities
    • Administrative liaison between the team and the Nairobi office for timely and cost-efficient work plan delivery.
    • Support in coordinating advocacy, communication, and social mobilization activities at the county level.
    • Logistics management for the teams

    Qualifications:

    • Degree in development-related course Project Management/Social Sciences/Administration.
    • Experience managing health-related donor-funded programs will be an added advantage
    • Good computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft packages
    • Good organizational skills
    • Sound interpersonal and liaison skills as well as a team player
    • Excellent planning and organizational skills
    • Good communication and facilitation skills
    • Must be a self-motivated and reliable person who can work with minimal supervision

    Health Records Information Officers

    Job Description:

    Reporting to the Data Officer, the HRIOs will be responsible for supporting COVID-19 vaccination reporting within the specified counties under the CIHEB-Kenya’s Technical Assistance to Ready and Accelerate Capacities of Public Health Programs in Kenya (TRACK) program.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Ensuring 100% reporting of COVID-19 vaccination in the MOH-Chanjo system.
    • Supporting defaulter tracing activities within the county to trace at least 50% of defaulters identified and link them with the vaccination team.
    • Ensure all required data summaries and facility reports are complete, accurate, and timely.
    • Scheduling and participating in facility and sub-county data quality audits.
    • Support county in addressing backlog and data entry during outreaches.
    • Working with the Immunization Technical Officer, the HRIOs will support in addressing COVID-19 vaccination gaps within the county for optimal data management and reporting.
    • Assist in compilation of ad-hoc or systematic data analysis for county performance review presentations every week.
    • Support innovative ways of data presentation to ensure maximum and timely utilization.

    Skills and Experience:

    • Diploma in Medical Health records
    • Work experience as an HRIO in a health setting
    • Should be self-motivated
    • Should have good interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
    • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
    • Travel: Ability and willingness to travel within specified counties in Kenya

    Location: Kakamega (1 Position) and Machakos (2 Positions)

    Duration: 6-7 months
