    Head, Technology Solutions Delivery

    Brief Description        

    To lead the Technology Solutions Delivery team that comprises of Technology Project Management Office, Technology Business Analysis and Technology Enterprise Architecture functions in working with the business users in successfully implementing Technology business systems from project inception to delivery within stipulated deadlines. 

    To Monitor the effectiveness of business systems and adapt them to evolving and changing environments and to drive delivery of large and complex business critical technology solutions within stipulated timelines and budgets.

    Detailed Description        
    Projects Delivery

    •  Ensure that projects deliver the as-designed solution, remain within baselined budget, and are delivered on time, while achieving quality criteria and meet defined business requirements.
    • Manage business system implementation projects from inception through delivery and continue to perform post-implementation audits. This includes rigorous project scope control and management of change variations.
    • Ensure that business system implementation meets set business objectives, bring about desired improvements in the target business area, and are delivered within time and budget allocations and expected quality.
    • Manage external project resources and vendors to ensure that all project needs, milestones, and timeframes will be met.
    • Manage the inter-departmental client relationship, drawing on resources throughout the company to deliver on business needs through a coordinated development of related systems. 
    •  Provide users with guidelines in both emerging technologies as well as application of best practice implementation and usage to ensure that they use technology in the best way possible. 
    • Ensure project set-up, resources allocation, planning and operations are efficiently managed. 
    • Assist the business in the identification of business process improvement initiatives while maintaining focus on effective project delivery.

    Stakeholder & Vendor Management 

    • Communicate effectively with key stakeholders regarding the statuses of their projects highlighting any risks and setting realistic expectations. 
    • Be an integral part of the strategic development process and keep the Chief Information & Data Officer fully briefed on all upcoming operational process requirements/changes. 
    • Manage the inter-departmental client relationship, drawing on resources throughout the company to deliver on business needs through a coordinated development of related systems. 
    • Manage business users’ satisfaction, commitment, and expectations to high service levels as well as the effective management of both internal and external escalations. 
    • Act as the single point of contact between senior management and project teams during project implementation, whilst taking accountabilities for all escalations relating to technology projects.

    Processes, Procedures and Performance Management

    • Design and document various standards, policies, and procedures to govern the delivery of company-wide projects.
    • Assist Chief Information and Data Officer coordinate Technology Governance Steering Committee (TGSC), and any other assigned technology governance frameworks.
    • Oversee the functions of Enterprise Architecture board (EAB) to ensure it delivers on its mandate.
    • Ensure operational efficiency through the development and implementation of sound, high quality of standard and service optimization processes. This includes defining, implementing, and measuring effectiveness of sectional operational policies and processes aimed at successful delivery of projects.
    • Provide accurate and timely reporting in respect to key performance metrics and recommendations to improve speed in the delivery of solutions.

    People

    • Accountable for sectional planning, people development, capability and resourcing through effective leadership and management.
    • Work with section managers to identify and ensure adequate availability of fit for purpose, skilled resources, able to deliver against set departmental and company goals/objectives. 
    • Perform Training Needs Analysis, coaching and mentorship of teams. 
    • Develop and motivate an innovative and inspired team and re-evaluate their skills and progress to ensure delivery of KRA’s.

    Job Requirements        
    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, ICT or related field. 
    • Must possess either ITIL, CBAP, or COBIT5 Certification
    •  Project Management Certification e.g. PRINCE 2, PRINCE 2 Agile, or PMP

    Additional Qualifications 

    • IT Business Support product certification 
    • Membership to relevant IT professional body
    • IT Security Certification is an added advantage.

    Minimum Years of Experience 

    • 10 years’ experience as a leader in Technology; with at least 5 years in Project Management in a similarly sized organization
    •  Demonstrate capability in leading teams in business requirement analysis and solutions delivery – from conception to operationalization.
    • Demonstrate capability in leading multifunctional teams to drive requirement analysis, project management and solutions architectures.

    Technical Competencies &Experience

    • At least 10 years overall IT management experience
    •  At least 5 years as a leader in technology solutions delivery and project Management. 
    • Relevant Business Analysis skills, training, and experience
    •  Service delivery and support skills 
    • Expertise in other technology areas such as DevSecOps, Technology Security & Risk, infrastructure management - added advantage. 
    • Demonstrated success in budget and financial management.
    •  Demonstrated ability to build and manage high performance technology teams. • Ability to champion solutions with high payback potential • Experience in customer relationship management

    Flight Dispatch - Operations Control

    Brief Description        

    To provide, prepare and brief pilots with timely, adequate, updated flight documentations and relevant information incompliance with the conditions and limitations specified in the AOC so as to ensure safe conduct of flights. Keep sufficient flight watch and monitor flight progress in accordance with Operational Manual and KCARs requirements.

    Detailed Description        

    • Prepare, process and provide all updated dispatch documentation and information for readiness of flight crew briefings.
    • Provide timely briefing to flight crew, in conformity with Company policy and Civil Aviation Regulations for safe operation of the flights.
    • Provide Aeronautical Information Service (AIS) and meteorological pre-flight briefing for all crews departing from Nairobi and other stations where applicable.
    • Advise Load Control on any payload status on the sector(s) to be flown so as to maximize payload.
    • File all ATS flight plans with the relevant Air Navigation Service Providers and communicate any changes thereof in good time in accordance with legal requirements.
    • Monitor all assigned aircraft for restrictive Operational MEL/CDL and plan flights considering the restrictions in consultation with the MCC.
    • Ensure implementation of safety, security and emergency standards at all times.
    • Ensure and maintain a healthy, safe and secure working environment in compliance with the relevant industry, regulatory and legislative requirements, company procedures, regulatory authorities and requirements of customer airlines.
    • Keep sufficient flight watch and monitor flight progress in accordance with Operational Manual.
    • Action all Sitatex/Emails for efficient safe operations.
    • Operate radios UHF, VHF, HF to establish effective communications with ground staff and aircrafts.
    • Update operations documentation, manuals and charts to keep them on current status in accordance with Company Policy and Civil Aviation Authorities requirements.
    • Ensure orderliness and cleanliness of Operations Control Centre in order to maintain conducive working environment.
    • Compile and compute flight progress status in AIMS in order to maintain correct flight information.
    • Provide metrological information to aircraft in-flight when required for safe flight operations.
    • Furnish the Pilot-in-Command while in flight, by appropriate means, with information which may be necessary for the safe conduct of the flight.
    • Ensure implementation of safety, security and emergency standards at all times.
    • Ensure and maintain a healthy, safe and secure working environment in compliance with the relevant industry, regulatory and legislative requirements, company procedures, regulatory authorities and requirements of customer airlines.

    Job Requirements        

    • A Diploma in relevant field or University graduate.
    • Must hold a KCAA Flight Operations Officer’s License.
    • Must have worked in airline Operations Control/Flight Dispatch for at least 3 years OR undergone the KQ Pride Training Centre Flight Operations Officer’s Course and satisfactorily completed 6 months internship at Kenya Airways Operations Control Centre.
    • Must be a team player and able to respond quickly to changes.
    • Must be conversant with company route network.

    Senior Manager, Technology Platforms & Infrastructure

    Brief Description        

    This role’s responsibility is to provide leadership to ensure effective, secure network telecommunications and collaboration infrastructure as well as delivery of a standardized enterprise-wide Data Centre, Platforms (on-Premises and Cloud) and Database for use across all Kenya Airways operations and sites.

     The role holder is responsible for the proper function of technology infrastructure: Hardware, Software, Databases, Voice and Video communication and collaboration channels across the airline.

    Detailed Description        

    • Provide highly available secure Technology Infrastructure to optimize technologies.
    • To provide leadership to Technology Platforms & Infrastructure team in terms of motivation, mentoring, talent growth to support business in customer service.
    • Responsible for Servers, Databases, Networks and Cloud Platforms and communication infrastructure across the Enterprise.
    • Planning, designing, implementation and management of information technology infrastructure to support service delivery throughout business outlets within approved budget.
    • Implement best practice Policy, Standards and Procedures as part of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Governance and Management Framework and ensure compliance.
    • Develop partnership with service providers to reduce Total Cost of Ownership.
    • Periodic review of available and new technologies in line with best industry practice to support business growth.
    • Planning, implementation, and management of value-added services, e.g., voice, data, channels software, cloud infrastructure and hardware.
    • Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans for Databases and Platforms to meet existing and future requirements.
    • Manage and ensure effectiveness of servers, including backup servers, Cloud platforms, Oracle Mini-cluster, and their associated operating systems. Responsible for on-site and off-site data centers and Cloud platform
    • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for Technology Infrastructure, databases and platforms administration and appropriate use of Data Centers.
    • Responsible for asset management, including maintenance of Data Center component inventory, life cycle management and related documentation. • Ensure scalability, performance and resilience of platform and databases, including adequate backups, disaster recovery etc., and ensuring the processes to respond to and resolve to incidents are defined and resourced 24x7. 
    • Establishing and line managing a best-in-class team of Database administrators, Cloud specialists, Data center Engineers, Network & Communication Engineers/Specialists. 
    • Represent Technology department in the Business continuity Planning and Crisis Management committee that is responsible for business continuity in case of a disaster, major incident and/ or crisis.

    Job Requirements        
    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science or related field from an institution recognized by Commission for University Education.
    • Professional Qualifications in I.T Infrastructure Governance is required.
    • Leadership and Coaching skills.
    • Demonstrate excellent Planning and organizing skills.
    • Excellent communication skills. 
    • Proven Track record in delivering results.

    Additional Qualifications 

    • IT Business Support product certification e.g., Cisco, Oracle, VMware, Microsoft Azure.
