Responsibilities

• Carry out research and analysis on key development-related topics covering climate change, carbon markets, climate finance, circular economy, renewable energy and natural resources management.
• Actively contribute towards KPMG’s IDAS business initiatives including business development and delivery of client projects.
• Contribute to developing partnerships with clients and other organizations.
• Support practice development, capacity building, thematic/sectoral coordination and other initiatives.
• Any other tasks that shall be assigned to you.

Education

• Must have an environmental/social science related degree from a recognized university.
• Master’s degree in a relevant field including but not limited to Climate Change, Natural Resources Management, Energy, Environmental Economics, Climate Finance, Development Finance or other related topic will be an added advantage.
• Must have 4 - 6 years’ experience in analytical or programme management work with a regional or international management consultancy firm, non-profit, private sector developer or academic institute working on climate change, carbon markets, renewable energy or natural resources management issues.

Technical skills and competencies

• Technical skills in one or more of the following topics: carbon footprint/GHG assessment, climate risk assessment, climate policy analysis, carbon markets; climate finance; or energy transition.
• Strong analytical, writing and communication skills;
• Understanding of global development issues and key institutions;
• Experience working in a complex, fast-moving environment and dealing professionally with multiple stakeholders;
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with others inside and outside of the organization.

Key roles and responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver the annual department budget that maximizes revenue and minimizes cost.
• Support business growth and development through well-structured business operational plans.
• Accountable for appropriate expenditure and effective cost management for the Department.
• Oversee Technology, Operations, Customer Experience, Procurement and Vendor Management, Properties and Facilities Management, and Security and Investigations functions of the bank.
• Work closely with key business functions to agree Service Levels, report on service delivery and manage service requests effectively and in accordance with strategy, standards and standard processes.
• Manage and oversee key business relationships with key suppliers to ensure that services/products procured meet the quality and brand standard in a cost-effective manner.
• Sponsor and strongly promote continuous improvement in managed team performance disciplines and ensure achievement of learning/training for self through E-learning, Internal and External training activities.

• Represent Technology, Operations and Enterprise Projects in all relevant internal committees as per mandate or by invitation.
• Responsible for formulation, implementation of the overall Business continuity of the Bank. Accountable for setting up, testing and maintenance of the Bank's Disaster Recovery and Business continuity plans for continuous customer service.
• As part of Executive Committee, support in the overall management of the bank's business and be an integral part of Bank's operations community, working with operations and business personnel to support the implementation and management of the Bank's systems, initiatives and operations
• Ensure that all department staff are managed according to the Bank's HR processes and are trained to meet their specific job purpose
• Ensure that the managed team functions and units adopt all Bank policies, processes and standards; and respond to all internal and external reports.

Academic/Professional Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. A Masters in technology related field or an MBA will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of 15 years’ working experience with at least 5 years at executive management level.
• Professional training in Banking, Project Management, Cybersecurity, Information Security or related.
• Seasoned banker, proficient with depth of experience in areas of expertise and broad-based working knowledge of all products offered by the bank.
• Proficient management and leadership skills-Takes responsibility for actions, projects and people. Able to take initiative and work under own direction.
