    Group Underwriting Analyst

    Key Responsibilities

    • Reconcile member details with existing data whenever there are changes to scheme membership to ensure member information is accurate at all times
    • Process supplementary costings in a timely manner and accurately for timely communication to customers
    • Provide information to members on information required for the administration of schemes to ensure timely and accurate renewals
    • Raise debit/credit notes as appropriate to ensure timely communication to customers and processing
    • Generate and dispatch periodic customer statements to ensure customers are informed of the performance of their schemes, and to ensure delivery against the agreed service level agreements
    • Generate reports for policies due for renewal to ensure timely renewals
    • Attend to queries and concerns from customers and intermediaries to ensure timely resolving
    • Prepare reports as and when required in a timely manner for timely submission

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors’ degree in business related field from a recognized institution.
    • Professional qualification in Insurance (ACII, AIIK)

    Experience

    • At least 2 years’ experience in administration of group life schemes.

    Competencies

    • Accurate member details
    • Timely processing of supplementary costings
    • Timely communication to members
    • Timeliness in the raising of debit/credit notes.
    • Timely dispatch of customer statements
    • Timely preparation of reports.

    Underwriting Analyst, Agriculture

    Key Responsibilities

    • Build and maintain relationships with current and potential customers by networking and providing personalized and quality customer service to share and clarify information and maximize company brand.
    • Maintain good relationship with Insurance intermediaries (brokers/Agents) and other sources of business whom we deal with on daily basis in the organisation.
    • Maintaining good relationship with service providers e.g. vets & agronomists contracted by the company for specialised services.
    • Recruit new intermediaries in line with company guidelines
    • Maintaining proper records of all the agriculture business written within the organisation including at branches.
    • Training of intermediaries and internal sales force on agriculture insurance business.
    • Prepare sales reports as may be required from time to time
    • Field visits for risk assessments/survey from time to time
    • Preparation of detailed report upon client visit with recommendations on risk improvement.
    • Offer technical assistance to other business functions i.e branches, claims department, to serve clients on need basis.
    • Ensure treaty re-insurance underwriting guidelines are adhered to in both underwriting work and in quotations
    • Measure and optimize portfolio progress by reviewing and analysing underwriting data and monitoring industry best practices to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
    • Maintain high standards of customer service by responding to clients’ enquiries (walk-in clients, telephone and emails) and efficiently address their issues
    • In liaison with expert business partners, assist clients in identifying our products (policies) that suit their needs in line with insurance principles.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture related field i.e. BSC – Agriculture, Agricultural extension, agriculture
    • Engineering or related degree courses.
    • Progress towards Diploma in Insurance (ACII or AIIK), (at least 3 papers or equivalent)

    Experience

    • 1 year experience in the insurance or financial services.
    • Experience in a livestock or crop farm would be an added advantage

    Underwriting Specialist, Health Business

    Key Responsibilities

    • Relationship management for allocated accounts
    • Day to day management of allocated accounts – member updates, cards issuance and
    • resolution of queries
    • Premium debiting
    • Policy documents / contracts issuance
    • Issuance of scheme management / utilization reports
    • Renewal invitation and renewal
    • Member education and service meetings
    • Supervision of underwriting analysts

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in insurance or business-related course.
    • Progression in CII / IIK qualifications.
    • Other related certifications will be an added advantage.

    Experience

    • At least 4 years’ experience in a similar role
