Duties and Responsibilities

• Create awareness and provide education about the existence of HIV testing services.
• Lead in the mobilization of clients for HTS.
• Provide pre/post-test HIV counseling ensuring that clients understand risk factors, prevention methods and other relevant issues.
• Provide confidential HIV testing to clients, as per National HTS guidelines.
• Provide on-going counseling and make relevant referrals for on-going support.
• Always ensure quality of HTS services.
• Document and maintain accurate HTS records including referrals and report on referral outcomes.
• Compile and submit HTS reports on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis to the Supervisor.
• Timely requests for all the necessary consumables for undertaking HTS activities.
• Ensure HTS optimization in the facility.
• Provide Partner notifications services.
• Perform any other duties as directed by the Supervisor
• Prevention and management of HIV and aids in collaboration with County, H.I. V AIDS control unit.
• Providing information for planning and budgeting for H.I.V/AIDS management.

Education, Skills and Experience

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Counselling/Medical/Applied Psychology from a recognized institution.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a counselor in an Institution of higher learning or at a similar position in a recognized academic institution.
• Certificate in HIV Testing Services, (HTS) accredited by NASCOP.

OR

• Must possess Higher National Diploma in Counselling/Medical/Applied Psychology from a recognized institution.
• Five (5) years’ experience as a counselor in an Institution of higher learning.
• Must possess at least a VCT Certificate

Education, Skill and Experience

• Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree majoring in Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Science/ Economics or any other relevant field.
• Must have at least three (3) years’ experience in a comparable position in any other organization.

AND

• Must be Computer Literate with high computer application skills.
• With strong mathematical and analytical skills, ability to collect, organize and analyze significant amounts of data, as well as a keen attention to detail, with regard for data quality and accuracy of information in analysis
• Must be passionate about the collection and maintenance of usable data for decision-making

• Analyzing local, national, and global trends that impact both the organization and the industry
• Ensuring integrity and confidentiality in the cause of their duties
• Any other duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor
