Responsibilities

• Support the preparation and facilitation of focus group discussions with caregivers and caregiver circle facilitators in accordance with the approved discussion guide.
• Create a respectful, inclusive, and neutral environment that encourages participants to share their views openly.
• Take comprehensive notes and accurately document key discussions, observations, participant responses, and emerging themes.
• Obtain informed consent and audio-record each session while maintaining confidentiality and following ethical data-collection procedures.
• Transcribe the recorded discussions accurately and, where required, translate the qualitative data without changing its meaning.
• Review, organize, label, and securely submit complete session notes, recordings, consent records, and transcripts within the agreed timelines.
• Support any other emerging roles from the field

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree/ Diploma in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
• At least two years of demonstrable professional experience in community-level health promotion, health facility–level service delivery, and/or collection and analysis of data from health service providers and caregivers.
• Prior experience in collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data is essential.
• Ability to work with various technologies (computers, mobile phones, etc.) and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a positive attitude.
• Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills in English. Fluency in Dholuo is essential.

Brief TORs:

• Provide technical and overall coordination of the FGD activity, ensuring adherence to discussion guide, and ethical requirements.
• Support training of the FGD facilitators and provide background on Thrive by Five project for their familiarization.
• Coordinate participant mobilization, session scheduling with the two local partners.
• Facilitate inclusive, neutral, and well-structured discussions, using appropriate probing techniques to generate comprehensive qualitative data.
• Supervise notetaking, audio recording, informed-consent procedures and secure handling of all session documentation and data.
• Conduct post-session debriefs and quality assurance reviews to verify data completeness, accuracy for timely submission of field outputs.
• Support and troubleshoot any emerging issues from field during the activity.

 Desired Qualifications
