Job Purpose
The Director, Corporate Services is responsible to the Chief Executive Officer for the management and coordination of activities in the Directorate.
Job Specification
The duties and responsibilities of the Director, Corporate Services will entail: -
- Overseeing the development, implementation and review of policies on finance, human resource, administration, corporate communication, Information and Communication Technology functions in the Board.
- Ensuring financial prudence and discipline for financial accounting, planning, treasury management, budgeting and budgetary controls in compliance with the set legal guidelines.
- Overseeing staff development welfare and employee relations in the Board.
- Facilitating the provision of a conducive work environment in the Board.
- Overseeing fleet and asset management in the Board.
- Overseeing development of ICT programmes and system
- Promoting corporate social brand and image of the Board.
- Spearheading corporate social responsibility programmes.
- Coordinating the Board’s Management Information Systems and security.
- Coordinating the adoption of technology infrastructure in line with the Board’s goals and changing technologies
- Initiate development and implementation of communications strategy.
- Coordinating Corporate social programmes
- Development and dissemination of corporate communications materials.
- Enhance the image of the Board.
Personal Specification
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
- Fifteen (15) years’ cumulative experience, five (5) of which should have been in at least the grade of Assistant Director and above in Human Resource, Finance, Accounts, Administration, Corporate Communication, or in a comparable position.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Commerce or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Master’s degree Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Commerce or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Membership to a relevant professional body and in good standing
- Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
- A valid practicing license/certificate.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Demonstrated professional competence and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Job Specification

- Coordinating the development, implementation and review of internal audit policies, strategies, legislations, regulations, guidelines, frameworks, norms, standards, procedures, programmes and plans in accordance with auditing standards.
- Spearheading the review of budgetary performance, financial management, transparency and accountability mechanisms and processes in the Board.
- Providing assurance on the state of risk management, control and governance within the Board.
- Overseeing the review of governance mechanisms and processes in the Board;

- Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics, Business Administration, Business Management or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Accounting, Finance Commerce, Economics, Business Administration or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Certificate in any of the following: Part III of the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Part III of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination, Part III of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Membership to Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) or relevant professional body and in good standing.

- Drafting minutes, Board and Committee papers for approval and circulation by the Chief Executive Officer.
- Custodian of the seal of the Board and account to the Board for its use.
- Maintaining and updating the Conflict of Interest and Gift Registers of the Board.
- Ensuring that Board members are aware of all relevant laws affecting the Board.

Legal Services

- Admission as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
