    Packing Clerk

     Key responsibilities:

    • To conduct inspection of product to ensure quality and identify any defects.
    • To ensure he/she applies labels to packages with accurate information such as product details.
    • To be able to operate the strapping machine.
    • To ensure that packaging meets quality standards and report any quality issues.
    • Ensure neat and tight straps on coils, pallets and slits.
    • To maintain accurate records of production and packaging data.
    • Inspect material before packaging for details accuracy.
    • To effectively communicate with supervisor and team members about production progress, issues and safety concern.
    • Communicate quality issues with QC/QA personnel for corrective action.
    • Perform daily inspections of strapping machine and report abnormalities.
    • With the aid of the crane operator move packed goods to designated inventory areas.
    • Maintain 6S/Housekeeping on work areas.
    • To Adhere to the SOP, company policies and safety regulations.
    • To perform any other duty as assigned by the Supervisor.

    Requirements

    Qualification and experience required:

    • KCSE,
    • Government Grade Test Three or equivalent
    • Knowledge in 6S & Autonomous Maintenance
    • Minimum of 1-year relevant work experience in packing operations.
    • 3 years in a manufacturing/industrial environment/setting.

    Shearing Operator

    Key responsibilities:

    • Review specifications to determine machine set up/adjustments as per the material requirements-Ensuring job orders are executed in order and all scrap is accounted for.
    • Set stops/guide to specified positions as per the SOP using the scale rule or measuring tape.
    • Ensure proper positioning of the work piece against stops and align with the shear blade (knife), giving good clearance before cutting commences.
    • Measure work pieces dimensions using the appropriate tools (i.e. tape measure and micrometres) to confirm proper sheet length and thickness(gauge) respectively so as to determine accuracy of machine set up and operation.
    • Monitor/observe machine operation to detect work piece defects caused by clearance, chipped or dulling shear blade (knife)-Communicate quality issues with QC/QA personnel for corrective action.
    • Record and maintain necessary information related to routine line operations- Fill out material (coil & sheet) details, process parameters and any deviations, measurements, downtimes, tool wear, production reports, coil traceability logs, and shift handover notes for reference.
    • Assist material handler (crane operator) in loading/unloading of material, transport and stack them in accordance with the established procedures ensuring that they are appropriately labelled.
    • Perform routine/daily inspections of equipment as per the standard checklists ensuring that key parts such as cutter/shear blade (knife) unit are cleaned and lubricated-Report abnormalities for attention/correction.
    • Assist maintenance team during planned or breakdown maintenance helping with troubleshooting & diagnostics- Ensure lockout/tagout (LOTOTO) and other safety procedures are adhered to.
    • Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

    Requirements

    Qualification and experience required:

    • KCSE,
    • Government Grade Test Three in General Fitting
    • Knowledge in 6S & Autonomous Maintenance
    • Minimum of 1-year relevant work experience in Shearing line operations.
    • 3 years in a manufacturing/industrial environment/setting.

    Crane Operator

    Key responsibilities:

    • Operate the overhead cranes to move coils, materials, and equipment as directed as per standard & safety operating procedures
    • Perform daily pre-operational checks and report any issues or malfunctions.
    • Coordinate with ground personnel for safe lifting, loading, and unloading operations.
    • Ensure correct slinging techniques and load balance before lifting.
    • Adhere to safety procedures, load limits, and plant operating guidelines.
    • Maintain clear communication via radio or signals with team members.
    • Document crane usage, movements, and any incidents in the logbook.
    • Participate in routine maintenance and inspections when required.
    • Assist with basic troubleshooting of crane systems under supervision.
    • Assist 6S (cleanliness and orderliness) for crane cab and operating area.
    • Attend to any other duty as assigned by the shift Engineer.

    Requirements

    Qualifications and experience required:

    • KCSE Certificate
    • Certificate in Plant Equipment Operation or Trade Test
    • Licence in overhead Creane Operations
    • At least 1 year experience operating overhead remote controlled cranes
    • Training in safe operation of overhead cranes is an added advantage
