    Electrical Designer

    Job Summary: 

    The Electrical Designer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing electrical systems for a range of projects, ensuring that they meet all technical requirements and regulatory standards. They collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to create efficient and reliable electrical solutions.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Electrical Design: Develop detailed electrical designs, including schematics, layouts, and wiring diagrams, using computer-aided design (CAD) software. Ensure that designs meet project specifications, budget constraints, and applicable codes and standards.
    • System Analysis: Perform electrical load calculations, voltage drop calculations, and other analyses to ensure the feasibility and efficiency of electrical systems. Identify potential risks and propose solutions to mitigate them.
    • Component Selection: Select appropriate electrical components, such as transformers, circuit breakers, switches, and cables, based on project requirements and performance criteria. Evaluate vendor proposals and make recommendations for procurement.
    • Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, architects, and other professionals to integrate electrical systems into overall project designs. Coordinate with other disciplines to resolve conflicts and ensure seamless integration of electrical components.
    • Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of relevant electrical codes, regulations, and industry standards, ensuring that designs comply with all applicable requirements. Obtain necessary permits and approvals for electrical installations.
    • Documentation: Prepare comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, technical drawings, and installation instructions. Maintain accurate records of design changes, project milestones, and communication with stakeholders.
    • Testing and Troubleshooting: Conduct testing and commissioning of electrical systems to verify functionality and performance. Troubleshoot any issues that arise during installation or operation, implementing corrective actions as needed.
    • Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance processes to ensure that electrical designs meet high standards of reliability, safety, and efficiency. Perform reviews and inspections to identify areas for improvement.
    • Continuous Improvement: Keep abreast of advancements in electrical engineering technology and practices. Identify opportunities to optimize designs, streamline processes, and improve project outcomes.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Design, or a related field.
    • Proven experience in electrical design, preferably in a relevant industry such as construction, manufacturing, or consulting.
    • Proficiency in CAD software and other design tools commonly used in electrical engineering.
    • Strong knowledge of electrical principles, codes, and standards, including NEC, IEC, and IEEE.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
    • Familiarity with project management concepts and practices is a plus.
