Applicants to be holders of either a Master’s degree in Bio Chemistry, any other related Biosciences or equivalent qualifications from a recognized Learning Institution plus five (5) years’ experience at the level of Chief Technologist grade 12 OR either a Bachelor of Science degree or Higher Diploma in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Technology or any other equivalent qualifications from a recognized learning Institution plus ten (10) years’ experience at the level of Chief Technologist grade 12.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be among other assignments be expected to provide technical leadership in the Department, Manage Teaching and Research facilities, train and supervise technical staff as well as organize practical’s for both post and under graduate students and supervise the provision of technical support in the following laboratories: Molecular Biology Laboratory, Protein and Enzyme Laboratory and Undergraduate Teaching Laboratory

An applicant must be a holder of an earned PhD in any Medical Microbiology and Immunology field or any other equivalent qualification from a University recognized by the University of Nairobi Senate OR a Master’s Degree qualification (plus a PhD registration) in the relevant field from a University recognized by University of Nairobi Senate (in special cases) with at least three (3) years teaching experience at University level or in a research or in industry in the relevant area . He/she must also have a minimum of three (3) years university teaching experience at Lecturer at University level or in research or in of industry experience in a relevant field. He/she must have a minimum of eight (8) publication points from peer reviewed journals with; a minimum of of two (2) publications in refereed journals or two (2) scholarly book chapters or two (2) scholarly published teaching modules or two (2) peer reviewed working/occasional/discussion papers. The applicant must also show evidence of community service. He/she must be registered with a relevant professional body where applicable.
The successful candidates will be expected to teach both undergraduate and postgraduate students, supervise dissertations, research and participate in routine diagnostic work at the Kenyatta National Hospital.

An applicant must be a holder of an earned PhD in any of the disciplines of Dental Sciences or any other equivalent qualifications from a University recognized by the University of Nairobi Senate. He/she must also have a minimum of three (3) years University teaching experience at Lecturer or Research Fellow level or a minimum of six (6) years of industry experience in the relevant field. The applicant must have supervised to completion a minimum of one (1) PhD and one (1) Master’s student OR a minimum of three (3) Masters Students. He/she must have a minimum of twenty-four (24) publication points from peer reviewed journals with; a minimum of four (4) publications in refereed scholarly journals since last promotion OR a minimum of two (2) publications in refereed scholarly journals and two (2) scholarly book chapters; OR a minimum of two (2) publications in refereed scholarly journals and two (2) scholarly published teaching/lecturer modules OR two (2) working, discussion or occasional papers since last promotion. He/she must have attracted research or development funds or educational resources as a Lecturer or Research Fellow since his/her last promotion. The applicant must also show evidence of community service. He/she must be registered with a relevant professional body, where applicable.
The successful candidate will among other assignments be expected to provide academic leadership, teach and supervise both undergraduate and postgraduate students and undertake further research in his/her area of specialization. They will also be expected to participate in Departmental, Faculty and University activities.
