    Sales Executive

    Background Information

    J&I is a start-up company in the manufacturing sector, operating a cottage industry processing roasted peanuts and peanut butter as the initial products. The cottage plant is based in Kitengela, Kajiado County.

    THE JOB

    We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Sales Executive to join J&I, a start-up in the manufacturing sector, specializing in processing roasted peanuts and peanut butter. The Sales Executive will play a crucial role in driving door-to-door sales efforts, focusing on retail shops. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the informal retail market, excellent communication skills, and a passion for engaging with clients both in-person and online.

    MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

    1. Sign up the business with big retail chains (supermarkets) and distributors in assigned region
    2. Develop and maintain relationship with retail outlets to maintain a good flow of orders
    3. Ensure timely stock replenishment to existing customers.
    4. Gather information on client needs and preferences and make suggestions for product improvements.
    5. Work with the production team to plan production schedules based on demand forecasts.
    6. Manage the company’s social media pages and engage with clients.
    7. Work with the ICT department to develop suitable content for the website

    QUALIFICATIONS

    The job holder should have the following qualifications. 

    1. Diploma in business or sales and marketing.
    2. At least 1 year experience working in FMCG, specifically retail sales to supermarkets and minimarkets.
    3. Having existing customers will be an added advantage

    THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THE JOB

    The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and competencies.

    • Strong communication and customer engagement skills
    • Knowledge of the informal retail market
    • Proficiency in social media management and online client engagement
    • Ability to gather and analyze customer feedback for product improvement
    • Strong collaboration skills 
    • A proactive and results-driven attitude with the ability to meet sales targets

    WHAT WE ARE OFFERING THE RIGHT PERSON

    We are offering the following to the candidate:

    1. Starting salary of KES 20,000 for the first six months to be reviewed upon employment confirmation based on performance.
