Job Objective

The University invites applications from suitably qualified, experienced, and highly motivated individuals to fill the position of Lecturer in the above disciplines. Successful candidates will be expected to contribute to excellence in teaching, research, innovation, and community engagement while supporting the University\'s strategic goals.

Duties and responsibilities

The successful candidates will be expected to:

• Teach courses assigned by the Head of Department in their respective areas of specialization.
• Design, develop, plan, and deliver academic programmes and course units at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including new programmes where applicable.
• Deliver high-quality lectures, tutorials, laboratory sessions, practicals, and fieldwork as appropriate to the discipline.
• Review course content and teaching materials regularly to ensure relevance, quality, and alignment with current developments in the discipline.
• Collaborate with academic colleagues on curriculum development, programme review, and enhancement of teaching and learning.
• Conduct research and prepare competitive research grant proposals.
• Seek and participate in consultancies and other scholarly and professional engagements.
• Present research findings at national and international conferences, seminars, and workshops.
• Publish and disseminate research outputs in reputable scholarly outlets.
• Provide mentorship, academic advising, and career guidance to students and junior staff.
• Participate in departmental, faculty, and university committees and other academic activities.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisors or as provided for in the detailed job description.

qualification and experience

• A Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the relevant discipline from a recognized and accredited university.
• Registration with, or eligibility for registration with, the relevant professional body where applicable.
• Demonstrated university-level teaching and research experience.
• A commitment to high-quality teaching and fostering a positive, inclusive, and student-centred learning environment.

Job Objective

The purpose of this position is to carry out teaching roles, student mentoring, research and other duties in liaison with the universitys overall goal.

Duties and responsibilities

• To teach in areas allocated by the Head of Department. 
• Designing, developing, planning and delivering a range of programmes of study, sometimes for entirely new courses at various levels. 
• Delivering high-quality lectures and practicals. 
• Reviewing course content and materials on a regular basis, updating when required. 
• Collaborating with academic colleagues on course development, curriculum changes and the development of research activities. 
• Carrying out research and writing research grant proposals. 
• Seeking and participating in consultancies. 
• Presenting research papers at national or international conferences and other similar events. 
• Dissemination of research outputs. 
• Providing mentorship and career guidance to students and staff. 
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisors or as captured in your detailed job description.

qualification and experience

• Registration for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or equivalent doctorial degree in the relevant field and demonstrate satisfactory progress towards completion.
• A Masters degree in the relevant discipline from an accredited  and recognised University.
• A Bachelors degree in the relevant discipline from an accredited  and recognised University.
• At least three (3) years of relevant post-qualification work experience;
• Demonstrate University- level teaching and research experience.
• Registration with, or eligibility for recognition with the relevant professional body where applicable.
