    Senior Operations Associate

    Senior Operations Associate Job at Nova Pioneer

    Nova Pioneer is looking for a superstar Senior Operations Associate for our Tatu City Campuses. The  Senior manager will be in charge of the day to day operations of our school campuses to  ensure that they run smoothly.     About the Role

    Key responsibilities for the role include:

    • Driving operational excellence in our day-to-day operations of our schools
    • Assist with implementation of any and all initiatives put forth by Operations team.
    • Leads and/or provides support in the execution of projects related to school goals – renovation, construction, new policies/systems, etc.
    • Ensures smooth campus operations (including evening and weekend activities) by liaising closely with resident teaching staff and operations team.
    • Supports in the successful running of various aspects of school operations – Library, Student Support Services, Kitchen operations, Sports Activities, etc.
    • Assists in forecasting and managing the school facilities budget.
    • Assists in doing various cost analysis to identify operational improvements
    • Responsible for planning, assigning and directing contract/casual staff, including cleaning and security staff
    • Responsible for appraising staff performance; rewarding and disciplining contract/casual staff; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    Skills and Qualifications required:

    • A minimum of 3 years of related work experience preferably in business operations, project management, marketing, event management and/or finance operations
    • Superior problem solving and planning skills
    • Highly developed organizational, communication and presentation skills
    • A high degree of computer literacy
    • Superior interpersonal skills as demonstrated by the ability to form professional relationships at all levels the organization and with appropriate external stakeholders
    • Overseas work experience within a multicultural environment would be advantageous

    Learning Designer

    Nova Pioneer is looking for a superstar Learning Designer. As a Learning Design Associate, you will revolutionize the way 21st century skills and knowledge are developed in African schools. You will be a central member of the team that will develop the learning model that we will use in our schools in Kenya and South Africa.  This is an opportunity to be a part of an innovative network of schools that is developing generations of innovators and leaders who shape the African Century.

    About the Role

    Key responsibilities for the role include:

    • Use themes, big ideas, Cambridge Curriculum, and Kenyan National Curriculum to create the day by day overview of lessons.
    • Create year-long Scope & Sequences for your subject areas and grade levels
    • Create detailed, inquiry-based lesson plans using Reggio Emilia approach, blended learning, and small-group instruction
    • Create materials that go along with each lesson
    • Create a full unit’s worth of material that culminates in Project Based Learning
    • Work with the Team Lead and classroom teachers to revise lessons after they have been taught.
    • Work with learning designers in Humanities and Math/Science to create integrated projects and investigations
    • Create strong assessments/rubrics/continuums/checklists that allow each teacher to evaluate students
    • Create assessments that infuse multiple assessment methods (Common Core, Creative Curriculum, Cambridge, etc.) into the questions (upper primary).
    • Receive professional development on the Nova Model of Learning Design, integrated curriculum design, STEAM, Project-Based Learning
    • Additional responsibilities as assigned by your manager
    • Respond adequately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise.

    Skills and Qualifications required:

    • You have 3-4 years of experience in a rigorous, high-expectations early primary setting
    • You have a track record of developing creative and rigorous curriculum that has led to distinctive learning outcomes and can demonstrate this through example products and references
    • You have a desire to further develop your curriculum development skills and apply them to transform the lives of African youth
    • You have strong writing skills and are able to use those to create lessons that will help people learn it while being engaged and interested
    • You are driven by data and can use data from student assessments to strengthen lessons and spiral in key skills

    Regional Operations Manager

The  Regional Operations Manager will be in charge of all our Kenya based campuses and will ensure that they run smoothly.     • Driving operational excellence in our day-to-day operations of our schools.
    • Building the playbooks for how we should be running operations now and as we think about scale across Kenya.
    • Building and leading training programmes for the staff to execute those playbooks.
    • Work with our property and facilities team to build a robust maintenance plan to manage our buildings and campuses.
    • Helping to monitor and manage the operations budget & identify areas of savings / optimizations.
    • Support our School Operations Leader in managing the various teams such as school admin, security and facilities.

    Skills and Qualifications required:

    • A minimum of 4 years of related work experience preferably in business operations, project management, marketing, event management and/or finance operations.
    • At least 2 years spent in a supervisory/leadership role demonstrating progressive responsibility.
    • You are a great communicator. You are able to provide a clear and effective written and verbal communication to the leadership team.

    Facilities Supervisor

    Nova Pioneer is looking for a superstar Facilities Supervisor for our Tatu City Campuses. The  Facilities Supervisor will identify and address safety risks on the different Campus grounds.     About the Role

    Key responsibilities for the role include:

    • Being the go-to-person on the team when it comes to campus cleanliness, maintenance & repairs, facilities management, security and utilities.
    • Responsible for the operation, supervision and maintenance of building systems to provide continuous supply of water, electrical power, and other utilities required for operations.
    • Inspect the building and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions in need of repair.
    • Prepare a schedule for maintenance matters with the operations team and agree when work will be carried out.
    • Perform routine building maintenance tasks in a timely manner.
    • Minimize maintenance disruptions to the running of the school.
    • Adequately respond to maintenance requests.
    • Ensure that all building management equipment has appropriate policy and standard level.
    • Respond adequately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise.

    Skills and Qualifications required:

    • 2+ years experience in facilities management.
    • Degree or Diploma in a related field.
