    Regional Operations Manager

    Qualifications For Regional Operations Manager Job

    • Extensive program and operations management experience in international development and humanitarian programs, including
    • Demonstrated ability to set up operational management systems in a large complex programme
    • Previous experience of managing technical/programme/operations/support teams in large-scale first phase emergency response is essential
    • Knowledge of international humanitarian and development systems, institutions and donors (programmes (including ECHO, DFID and OFDA), and of procedures, accountability frameworks and best practices
    • In depth knowledge and experience of logistics systems and requirements in a multi field office, multi programme setting
    • Direct experience of delivery of humanitarian programs, in a technical or operational role, in at least 3 different contexts
    • Senior management role within a complex country programme and/or in a large scale emergency response
    • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a complex, matrix management environment. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching.
    • Security management experience across a large programme
    • Substantial training and capacity building experience
    • Cultural sensitive, with highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching.
    • Experience of supporting and developing programmatic staff with different backgrounds and expertise
    • Commitment to Save the Children values.
    • Ability and willingness to change work practices and hours in the event of major emergencies.
    • Willingness to travel in developing countries (varying, but expected to be at least 40% of time).

    Budget and Reporting Officer

    Job Purpose 

    • The Budget and Reporting Officer will be primarily responsible for preparation of donor and other internal monitoring reports, supporting non-thematic and cross thematic allocation process, supporting the forecast process and uploading phased budgets in AGRESSO.
    • The Budget and Reporting Officer will ensure donor and the organization requirements are adhered to and internal monitoring systems of grants are in place and there is timely production of information. The role is to support the South Sudan Country Office; the role is based on Nairobi but with approx. 20% travel to South Sudan. 

    Qualifications For Budget and Reporting Officer Job

    • Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in a business field.
    • Should hold professional qualifications i.e. CPA (K) or ACCA Finalist.
    • At least three year’s INGOs experience especially in budget setting and financial accounting
    • Great analytical skills and ability to articulate financial data to non-financial stakeholders
    • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office package, specifically Excel and Word and experience of working with accounting software
    • Ability to work under pressure and achieve results in a fast paced, deadline focused environment
    • Attention to detail
    • Proficiency in English, both oral and written
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, including cultural sensitivity, assertiveness and negotiating skills.
    • Ability to work as part of a mobile team.
    • Willingness to travel to South Sudan occasionally (approx. 20% of time)
