The selected candidates will report to the Local Business Manager and International Business Manager located at the head office in Nairobi. Kenya.
The main duties will include but will not be limited to: Managing business relationships with assigned cedants and brokers in order to achieve profitability, liquidity, business growth and customer satisfaction on a sustainable basis and providing management support.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Contribute to the development and implementation of the Division's strategy and Annual Work Plan and Budget (AWB):
• Solicit and receive business offers from existing and potential clients. assess such offers and make appropriate recommendations to the Department Heads in line with the Corporation's underwriting policy:
• Carry out the Reinsurance Treaty and facultative underwriting of the business
• Prepare renewal and new business quotation proposals to cedants and brokers:
• Review facultative acceptances regularly ahead of renewal
• Review treaty acceptances annually and analyze/ prepare treaty slips:
• Ensure proper processing of all technical transactions and review /verify serial listings:
• Arrange for full and adequate cover for the Corporations assets in the regional office
• Carrying out market visits regularly in the Local market for new business, for renewal of existing business and customer relationship management.
• Ensuring appropriate maintenance of all relevant documentation,
• Ensure proper handling of COMESA claims
• Any other duties and responsibilities that will be assigned by management.
The selected selected candidate will report to the Claims Management Manager located at the head office in Nairobi. Kenya.
The main duties will include but will not be limited to: Carrying out prudent underwriting in life/claims reassurance and insurance operations in order to have the premium growth and profits to the Corporation and satisfied customers.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Proactively manage individual claims from notification to closure, investing the necessary level of involvement required for each claim depending on inter alia, the nature, category, maturity type and quantum of claim
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, half yearly statistics i.e. aggregate outstanding losses, treaty outstanding losses, outstanding losses recoverable from reinsurers, outstanding losses under the local quota share treaty
• Ensuring that all possible recoveries are made from our retrocession protections
• Analysis of claims experience of various risks usually for use by underwriters;
• Manage claims portfolio to optimize performance;
• Response to Cedants' and Reinsurers' queries
• Any other duties and responsibilities that will be assigned by management.
The selected candidate will report to the Manager- Life business located at the head office in Nairobi, Kenya.
The main duties will include but will not be limited to: Carrying out prudent underwriting in life reassurance and insurance operations in order to have the premium growth and profits to the company and satisfied customers.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Carry out life medical underwriting and manage communication with life companies and reinsurance brokers:
• Carry out administration of claims resulting from such transactions;
• Process mortgage insurance in line with the Corporation's policy;
• Prepare retrocession accounts:
• Prepare quarterly statements of accounts;
• Draft treaties in line with the Corporation's policy and call for returns from ceding companies;
• Ensure accurate input of data and records for allocated markets in respect of premiums claims etc;
• Ensure appropriate maintenance of all relevant documentation;
• Provide market information, statistics and reports as and when required.
• Any other duties and responsibilities that will be assigned by management.
• Applicants should be holders of a Bachelor's degree in insurance or a business related field from a recognized University. They should be holders of a Diploma in Insurance from Chartered Insurance Institute (London) or hold its equivalent. In addition they should have 3 years' experience in reinsurance practice.
• They should have good organizational and analytical skills, good interpersonal and communication skills and proficiency in office productivity tools.
