    Registered Community Health Nurse

    Reporting to the Nursing Officer In-charge

    Job Purpose

    • Promotes and restores patients’ health by completing the nursing process
    • Collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members
    • Providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families
    • Supervising assigned team members.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    • Nursing care of patients.
    • Giving reports both written and oral.
    • Keeping of nursing records.
    • Assisting in clinical training of student nurses and other junior staff.
    • Giving preventive and curative care to clients/ patients.
    • Supervises allocated duties of ward attendants.
    • Participates in Health education to patients and their relatives.

    Qualifications

    Pharmaceutical Technologist

    Reporting to the Pharmaceutical Technologist In-charge

    Job Responsibilities Includes:

    • Compounds and dispenses prescribed medications drugs and other pharmaceuticals for patient care, according to professional standards.
    • Reviews prescriptions issued by physician, or other authorized prescriber to assure accuracy.
    • Answers questions and provides information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage and issues pharmaceuticals.
    • Procures, stores and issues pharmaceutical materials and supplies.
    • Maintain established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances and disposal of hazardous waste drugs, enters data such as patient name, prescribed medication and cost, to maintain pharmacy files, charge system and inventory among others.

    Requirements:

        •  Have a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C+ (Plus) with credits in relevant subjects or its equivalent qualification.
        •  Be in possession of a Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from Kenya Medical Training College or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
        •  Be registered by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
        •  Have a valid practicing licence.
        •  Have a minimum of 1 year post internship experience in a similar role.

    Medical Laboratory Technologist

    Reporting to the Medical Laboratory Technologist In Charge

    Job Purpose: Responsible for collecting and testing of patient specimens and generating accurate reports to support treatment.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    • Perform routine tests in medical laboratory to provide data for use in diagnosis and treatment of prevention of disease.
    • Conducts chemical analyses of body fluids, such as blood, urine and spinal fluids, to determine presence of normal and abnormal components.
    • Perform blood group, type and compatibility tests for transfusion purposes.
    • May train and supervise students.
    • Carry out other duties as assigned by the senior officer in charge.
    • Commodity management e.g laboratory reagents to maintain good stock levels.
    • Any other duties assigned to you by your supervisor.

    Requirements:

        •  Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences
        •  Valid License with KMLTTB
        •  KCSE mean grade C or its equivalent.
        •  Minimum Post qualification experience of 1 year in a busy hospital environment.

        •  Result oriented
        •  Reliability with demonstrated interpersonal skills and a high degree of professionalism and ethics.
