    Market Systems Governance Advisor-Kenya LWA

    The Ideal Candidate’s Experience:

    • 7+ years of experience in the design, implementation, monitoring, and adaption of livestock and other market policies in Northern Kenya;
    • Experience strengthening public-private sector relationships in Kenya is required;
    • Experience in developing county-level systems for improved market governance is required;
    • Experience strengthening the institutional capacity of government entities to develop and implement pro-growth policy and regulatory frameworks;
    • Demonstrated success supporting local governments to attract investment in the agriculture sector;
    • 2+ years of experience working on USAID-funded or other international donor-funded projects is strongly preferred;
    • Experience in the inclusion of youth and women into value chains is strongly preferred;
    • Experience with the East African livestock import/export market is strongly preferred;
    • Knowledge of Kenyan institutions involved in livestock and livestock investment is preferred;
    • Familiarity with livestock insurance mechanisms is preferred;
    • Master’s degree is required;
    • Strong verbal and written skills in English and Kiswahili are required; knowledge of local languages is strongly preferred.

    Senior Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Advisor-Kenya LWA

    The Ideal Candidate’s Experience:

    • 7+ years of experience in the design, implementation, and adaption of monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) systems and collaborative learning and adaptation (CLA) for complex, multi-sectoral projects is required, preferably for USAID and other donor-funded projects;
    • 2+ years of relevant supervisory experience is required;
    • Experience managing MEL and CLA for livestock, nutrition, and/or livelihood activities or related activities is required;
    • Experience strengthening the capacity of government entities and other organizations to better manage knowledge sharing, monitoring, evaluation, and learning;
    • Demonstrated research and analytical skills within rural and pastoralist settings is required;
    • Familiarity with the Kenyan livestock industry is preferred;
    • Familiarity with the Women’s Empowerment in Agriculture Index (WEAI) is preferred;
    • Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree is preferred;
    • Strong verbal and written skills in English and Kiswahili are required; knowledge of local languages is strongly preferred.

    GIS Officer-Kenya LWA

    The Ideal Candidate’s Experience:

    • 3-5+ years of experience in the use and administration of GIS, ILWIS, Kalypso, TerraView, Oracle Spatial, and/or other remote sensing/mapping software is required;
    • 2+ years of experience in the management of a database is required;
    • 2 + years of experience working on USAID-funded or other international donor-funded projects is strongly preferred;
    • Experience with the design, coding, and implementation of software for both the public and private sector is strongly preferred;
    • Familiarity with both the Kenyan and East African technology industry is strongly preferred;

    Senior Livestock Production Lead-Kenya LWA

    The Ideal Candidate’s Experience:

    • 7+ years of experience in the East African livestock industry, including in livestock and other market systems development, is required, preferably in Northern Kenya;
    • Demonstrated success strengthening livestock sector value chains, including support to producer organizations, input and service providers, and ancillary value chain actors is required;
    • Experience designing and managing implementation of interventions that support improved herd management, livestock-related livelihood and small business development, rangeland rehabilitation, livestock market infrastructure, insurance, investment, processing, supply chain management, behavior change, quality standards, access to finance, and other related areas is strongly preferred;
    • 2+ years of experience working on USAID-funded projects is preferred;
    • Experience in the inclusion of youth and women into livestock value chains is strongly preferred;
    • Experience developing inclusive commercial relationships among livestock actors that facilitate the profitable participation of pastoralists and other vulnerable communities is preferred;
    • Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree is strongly preferred;
    • Strong verbal and written skills in English and Kiswahili are required; knowledge of local languages is strongly preferred.

    Senior Grants Manager-Kenya LWA

    The Ideal Candidate’s Experience:

    • 5+ years of experience in the design and administration of grants-under-grants/contracts is required, preferably related to value chain/market systems approaches;
    • 2+ years of supervisory experience in grants administration is required, preferably for grants facilities in excess of $5 million;
    • Demonstrated knowledge of USAID financial and management systems, regulations, and reporting requirements, while maintaining an attitude of creativity and flexibility, is required;
    • 2+ years of experience working on USAID-funded projects is strongly preferred;
    • Demonstrated ability to include women and youth in grant implementation is strongly preferred, especially within the Northern Kenyan livestock industry;
    • Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree is preferred;
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required;
    • Strong verbal and written skills in English and Kiswahili are required; knowledge of local languages is strongly preferred.
