    Information System Auditor

    Job Purpose

    Proactively evaluate the IT systems with the view of identifying gaps and recommending improvements in information flow, security, record keeping and management.

    Roles

    • Annual audit planning for IT audits.
    • Planning for individual IT Audit assignments.
    • Execution of IT audits and IT Advisory engagements.
    • Evaluation of IT plans, strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure adequate management oversight.
    • Identification of Information Systems’ weaknesses, review of management’s plans for addressing those weaknesses and reporting on material weaknesses.
    • Reviewing the control aspects of new applications, products, conversions, or services throughout their development and implementation.
    • IT Risk assessment, monitoring and recommendation to client on risk management process.
    • Assessing information systems to ensure that management information is accurate, adequate and reliable in decision making.
    • Data analytics using known CAATTs e.g. IDEA etc.
    • Preparation of audit reports and presentation to the manager internal audit.
    • Preparation of working papers and review of work executed by other team members.
    • Follow up to ensure implementation of recommendations.
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

    Qualification and Skills

    • Bachelor degree in IT or Business related field.
    • CPA is an added advantage.
    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in IT audit.
    • Strong advisory and analytical skills.
    • Excellent in communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
    • Good report writing skills.
    • Ability to abide by the internal audit principles.

    Chief Manager Finance & Strategy

    Job Purpose

    To deliver key corporate strategies, provide strategic financial & business advice in addition to managing financial reporting, budgeting, prudent management and investment of resources of the business whilst keeping an oversight and reporting of the implementation of strategy across the business.

    Develop strategic plans to respond to business needs and aspirations with particular focus on growth and setting the parameters for service delivery, developing productive relationship with external market, promoting a culture of improvement, robust financial control, value for money and effective performance management.

    Roles

    • Influence and reshape the services, promoting a culture of improvement and robust financial control, value for money and effective performance management.
    • Contribute to development and delivery of strategic plans and policies that respond appropriately to business needs, aspirations and transformation agenda.
    • Lead the strategic contract management of corporate service delivery units and contracts - managing relationships with delivery units and contractors.
    • Support the delivery units in developing and delivering comprehensive, rigorous annual service and financial planning cycles to agreed standards.   
    • Leads in the development of a financial plan that corresponds with the strategic timeframe for purposes of guiding the business operations on an annual basis.
    • Involved in the formulation of strategy from a financial perspective and is also overall responsible for running with the strategy, performance reporting and liaison with the project team so as to provide insights to the Strategy & Planning Committee of the board into the performance of the business against strategy.
    • Manages the financial resources of the business so as to ensure the business has adequate funds for daily use and in accordance with the annual financial plan.
    • Ensures that the business meets its statutory (KRA) and regulatory (SASRA) compliance requirements in a timely manner so as to avoid penalties and sanctions.
    • Responsible for day to day financial reporting which guides management decision making processes and provides the necessary business performance matrices to the board.

    Qualification and Skills

    • Master’s degree in Business related field (e.g. Accounting, Finance, Strategy, Operations Management or Management Information Systems).
    • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or other related field.
    • 8 years of experience in a management position in a Finance function with the immediate last five years being a finance manager in a reputable organization.
    • Exposure in development, implementation and monitoring of Corporate Strategic Plans.
    • Experience in leading and managing teams and facilities operations within a diverse, division-based entity.
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a member of ICPAK in good standing will be an added advantage.
    • Membership to any other relevant professional body will be an added advantage.

    • Strong interpersonal, analytical, verbal and written skills with experience in development of Board papers.

    Risk Officer

    Job Purpose

    Responsible for identifying and managing them in order to ensure the business maintains a healthy risk appetite for it to achieve its objectives and remain compliant.

    Roles

    • Facilitate the identification and assessment of risks in line with the organizations enterprise risk management framework and updating risk registers
    • Support process owners and risk champions with identification of key risk indicators in their respective functions in order to mitigate the same.
    • Identification, monitoring and follow-up of action plans and incident report through ERM system to ensure their timely execution in compliance with the risk frameworks.
    • Monitoring and analyzing new risk events reported and ensuring attestation of key risk indicators and compliance management questions are responded to in time.
    • Creating awareness on risk management through training for a risk conscious culture
    • Preparation of risk compliance reports to support management decision making
    • Supporting project management teams and providing advice on risk issues through identification of new threats and opportunities

    Qualification and Skills

    • Bachelor's' degree in Business Management or Accounting/Mathematics or other comparable qualifications from a recognized Institution.
    • Possession of a relevant risk certification will be an added advantage.
    • At least five (3) years’ experience in a similar position with wide exposure to risk management and risk compliance issues gained within the financial sector or handling financial risks.

    Key Competencies

    • Must have undergone a training programme in Risk Evaluation and Management.
    • Member of a recognized professional body of risk management or related bodies e.g. Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) or Institute of Risk Management (IRM) or Association of Insurance and Risk Managers (AIRM), will be an added advantage.
    • Demonstrate high level of integrity, trust and ability to handle confidential information with discretion and tact.
    • Proven communication and inter-personal skills.
    • Demonstrate excellent conceptual, analytical and reporting skills.
    • Possession of relevant IT User skills and qualifications will be an added advantage.
