    Operations Manager - Distribution Company

    Our Client is a medium sized company based in Nairobi that imports and distributes a wide range of pesticides to farmers and farms in Kenya. They seek to hire an efficient, competent and reliable Operations manager.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement operational systems, processes and policies in support of the business including reporting, information flow and management, business processes and planning.
    • Daily running of operations and people management
    • Fleet management and quality control including maintenance of vehicles
    • Fleet performance and oversight
    • Reviewing and Managing Budgets
    • Manage relationships with 3 rd party service providers
    • Co-ordination and management of field staff and activities
    • Oversee custom clearance for imported products
    • Ensure logistics team follows stock control policies and processes
    • Develop and implement a business strategy so that both execution and KPIs are effectively managed and well accomplished.
    • Continuously evaluating operational processes to enhance the efficiency and quality of deliverables
    • Ensure the effective monitoring, control and support of service delivery, ensuring best practice systems, methodologies and procedures are followed by the teams

    Qualifications

    • A Degree in any business related field preferably Logistics or Operations Management.
    • 5-7 years’ experience in operations or logistics management
    • Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and honesty.
    • Excellent people management and supervisory skills, open to directives and commitment to get the job done efficiently.
    • Past experience in operations management.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

    Program Manager

    Our client is a social enterprise set up to improve the lives of the bottom of the pyramid producers and consumers through training, improved access to markets and adoption of climate smart agriculture technologies. The organization supports several projects in Kajiado and neighboring counties. They seek to hire an experienced Program Manager.

    Location: Isinya, Kajiado

    Role Purpose

    The Program manager will serve a strategic role and while they will not manage individual projects they will coordinate teams working on several projects.

    Responsibilities

    • Work with the board to develop and or review the overall strategy and objectives of projects. The manager will be responsible for aligning the outcome of each project with the organization’s overall goals.
    • Lead development of budgets and guide the board in establishing priorities and allocating resources to specific projects.
    • Work with project teams to establish plans and goals for each project and ensure objectives are set, tasks assigned, budget allocated and timetables for achieving intermediate and overall project goals are agreed.
    • Set review dates to ensure that projects remain on target and establish a formal monitoring and evaluation structure for all projects.
    • Work closely with project teams to track progress and provide updates on any changes in strategy or priorities.
    • Report to the board, donors and partners on the progress of individual projects and the overall program.
    • Lead the search for new funding opportunities for the organization through market research, direct
    • Prospecting, networking and participation in key events.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or related field of study
    • 5+ years in Project Management preferably on Agribusiness/ Food Security
    • Strong leadership skills
    • Financial management skills and ability to administer budgets across multiple projects.
    • Experience in running donor funded projects / Investment impact funds
    • Experience in Monitoring & Evaluation

    Finance & Admin Manager

    Our Client is a medium sized company based in Nairobi that imports and distributes a wide range of pesticides to farmers and farms in Kenya. They seek to hire a competent candidate to fill the post of Finance Manager.

    He will be tasked with developing and maintain accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely generation of financial statements and reports.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement goals, policies and procedures relating to financial accounting, management and budgeting.
    • Ensure that policies and procedures (internal controls) are reasonably in place and strictly followed to safeguard Company assets.
    • Oversee the general accounting function that includes inter-company accounting, cash management/reconciliation, financial analysis and reporting and balance sheet management.
    • Responsible for overall financial planning and management including cash flow, creditors and debtors.
    • Ensure that employees’ monthly statutory and other deductions (NHIF, NSSF, PAYE, HELB loan, Sacco remittance) are remitted to authorized bodies in time frame required and records maintained.
    • In consultation with the Director, liaise with the bankers for settlement of discrepancies and clarification of entries made in the bank account statements.
    • Carry out foreign exchange adjustment at the end of the year.
    • Liaise with insurance broker to ensure prompt payment of insurance claims and any other matter related to the insurance policy.
    • In liaison with the external auditor ensure that the reporting of annual accounts is as per the legal requirement in regards to depreciation, dividends and taxation.
    • Take the lead in designing, implementation and review of the company credit control procedure, and develop and implement enhancements.
    • Assist in staff monitoring, appraisal, motivation and reward, disciplinary measures and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
    • Carry out cost and business performance analysis of Company staff against targets on quarterly basis and/or as directed by the Director with an aim of identifying cost burden(s) for improvement and exemplary performance for motivation.
    • Provide guidance and training on financial matters to staff to ensure adequate understanding of the Company business goals and objectives.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
    • CPA K holder
    • At least 5 – 7 years’ experience in similar position
    • Applicants must be between the ages of 33-39.
    • Deep professional knowledge of finance and accounting
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills
    • Possess high sense of integrity and confidentiality
    • Should be a team player and possess leadership skills

    Finance Manager

    Our client is a rapidly growing company committed to providing life-saving, affordable positive impact household energy products. Some of their products include; improved cook stoves, and solar home systems. They seek to hire a Finance Manager who will play a critical role in the execution of the organization’s overall strategy and business plan. S/He will also be tasked with overseeing all accounting and budgeting activities within Kenya.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop all financial reports of the Kenyan company, oversee the end-to-end budgeting process, ensure timely payments to suppliers and employees and manage cash and control stock.
    • Improve the function’s processes and policies and manage a small team of accountants.
    • Ensure expenditures are within budget
    • Perform monthly bank reconciliation , record journal entries and issue supplier invoices and process payment to suppliers
    • Disburse and manage cash to employees needed for operational expenditures
    • Manage capital expenditures and run monthly depreciation schedules and ensure right level of cash is maintained in all bank accounts
    • Ensure accurate reporting of inter-company transactions
    • Oversee monthly stock audit, calculate and record inventory shrinkage & receivable write off
    • Develop divisional P&L as well as monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet and cash flow)
    • Issue donor reports and perform tax filing and issue statutory reports

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/ Economics/ Accounting or similar field
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Financial Analyst (CFA)
    • 7-10 years of proven work experience in accounting
    • Track record in managing teams of accountants
    • Experience in financial services, banks or MFI is preferred
    • Outstanding organizational and co-ordination abilities
    • Have strong business acumen, managerial and communications skills.
    • Excellent time management skills & detail oriented
