Job Description

• Evaluates electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research programs.
• Confirm system’s and components’ capabilities by designing testing methods.
• Assure product quality by designing electrical testing methods.
• Draw and read electrical and mechanical schematics, blueprint and diagram.
• Install, maintain, test and repair lighting sockets & electrical equipment.
• Prepare product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests.
• Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
• Complete projects by training and guiding technicians.

Qualifications:

• Must have a minimum of Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Must be a registered Professional Engineer with Engineer Board of Kenya.
• Must have design and construction supervision experience in electrical in a building services, hotels/apartments.
• Capable of running projects and projects team unsupervised.
• Must be familiar with quality control system.
• Current and valid driving licence
• Good level of spoken and written English
• Should be able to prepare quantization’s and bills of quantity
• Experience in the solar industry is a plus

Duties & Responsibilities

• Continuously establish and develop business relationships with potential and new customers, expanding sales coverage of the company
• Providing strong service to the new and existing accounts.
• Contribute to the design, development and implementation of the company’s sales plan.
• Identify and develop key accounts.
• Negotiation and follow up of contracts.
• Manage entire selling process from forecasting to actual product delivery and payment collection for all the key accounts
• Staying in close contact both with customers and the company’s related internal departments.
• Communication directly with customers on issues relating to their orders and shipments.
• Coordinate with Sales Support Office to ensure availability and timely delivery of systems, and to advise customers of stock status.
• Maintain close relationship and communication with existing key accounts to understand their needs regarding technical, financial, logistic and marketing support, and organize internal resources to meet those needs and identify new business opportunities.
• Analyze and monitor account customer data, and develop reports on a regular basis based on customer information and development trend.
• Identify, establish and manage multi-tiered relationships across customers and company’s organization to ensure a long-term business partnership
• Represent the company in local and national exhibitions and conferences.

Job Description

• Install and maintain Solar Water Heaters (SWH) systems and components
• Review plumbing plans and specifications to determine the layout for SWHs
• Identify required tools and special equipment
• Select the type and size of pipe required
• Locate and mark positions for tank structures, pumps, connections and fixtures
• Install supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures and equipment
• Assemble and install valves and fittings
• Install, repair and maintain underground storm sanitary and water piping systems
• Test SWHs, pipe systems and fixtures for leaks

Main activities

• Perform scheduled Installations of SWH systems and fixtures
• Apply all codes of installations, repairs and maintenance
• Check that all requirements as specified by the manufacturer of systems and fixtures are met
• Ensure all installations are properly sized, aligned and supported
• Ensure all installations meet the requirements of the appropriate codes
• Administer scheduled work

Qualifications / Knowledge

One must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:

• Plumbing and SWH installation
• Water distribution both hot and cold in residential, commercial and industrial buildings
• Relevant plumbing procedures in installation and maintenance
• ERC Certificate will be an added advantage
• Current and valid driving licence
• Good level of spoken and written English

The Technical Engineer’s role is to supervise and ensure efficient operation of the technical team as well as other operational functions of the company.

This includes managing the available resources as well as offering expert advice on technical issues. You will work with other departments in order to identify, develop, implement and support cost effective procedures for the company.

Minimum Requirement for qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Excellent communication skills, honest, presentable and result oriented

• Should be able to prepare quantization’s and bills of quantity and is responsible for the profitability of the installations sold
• Ability to supervise and manage all technical teams and therefore experience in managing small teams of people is an added advantage

Job Responsibilities

• Surveying sites for the preparations of quotations and drawings
• Issuing of bills of materials
• Design and drawing of the renewable energy systems under the Technical Director supervision
• Issue the drawings upon the Technical Director approval
• Sign out the quotation issued
• Organize the materials and tools required on site and have them ready for delivery
• Planning and scheduling for jobs
• Supervise ongoing works and ensure that what has been designed at project stage is what has been performed at site
• Ensure that safety issues have been complied with during installations
• Ensure that all materials that have not been used are safely returned to the store
• Ensure that all faulty materials are returned to the stores, stored accordingly, tested and a report is issued on the same
• Ensure correct, timely and accurate reporting on jobs done through the job cards
• Responsible for the order budget that will be accounted for through the job card information
• Professionally hand over site by commission completed sites
• Supervise all maintenance interventions
• Handle all troubleshooting and manage/account for it as per company policy
• Drive cars and take optimal care of vehicles, including scheduling maintenance / repairs
• Liaise with sales team and exchange proper and exhaustive information about all ongoing works as well as potential sales
• Provide Pre & Post sales assistance
• Assist in filling of tender and contract terms and conditions to meet both client and company needs
• Update data on Annual Maintenance contracts and provide schedules for them to be done timely and accurately
• Prepare monthly reports for surveyed sites, new sites and pending works.
