    Production Unit Supervisor

     

    Our client a bakery in Nairobi, seeks to recruit a Production Unit Supervisor with good experience in a busy bakery.

    Responsibilities

    • Plan a production schedule for the production team
    • Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in mixing, dividing, molding, and proofing of dough, and in baking, slicing, and wrapping of bread, pastries, and other bakery products: Examines dough and batter for specified consistency.
    • Supervise the work of others in the production unit ensuring that production and service standards are being met all time.
    • Ensure the company products are as per quality standards.
    • Must have knowledge in line with preparation of bakery products and pastries, packaging of products , weighing  and storing of products.
    • Must be able to follow the company set standards and procedures for preparing, storing and stocking of products.
    • Must be able to supervise the general cleanliness of the production area.
    • Must have knowledge in using Ovens, automated machines such as packing machines, slicing machines amongst others.
    • Must have OSHA knowledge i.e. Occupational Safety and Health policies and practices in a food production unit.
    • Supervise the work of others in the production unit ensuring that production and service standards are being met all time.
    • Ensure the company products are as per quality standards.
    • Must have knowledge in line with preparation of bakery products and pastries, packaging of products , weighing and storing of products.
    • Must be able to follow the company set standards and procedures for preparing, storing and stocking of products.

    • 3 plus years’ experience as a Production Supervisor in a very busy bakery
    • Knowledge and experience in production and manufacturing processes and techniques

    Executive Housekeeper

     

    A hotel in Nairobi seeks to recruit an Executive Housekeeper. She/he will ensure the housekeeping department operates smoothly by supervising the housekeeping staff.

    Responsibilities

    • Supervision of cleaning and maintenance of hotel rooms and public areas including; parking, gardens and laundry area.
    • Assign, allocate and supervise duties, give instructions regarding work methods and routines to staff working directly under you i.e. Room stewards and General cleaners, to ensure that duties are carried out and completed as instructed.
    • Do inventories of the rooms once a guest checks in and immediately before checking out.
    • Ensure all rooms are stocked, equipped with all requirements to the clients’ satisfaction and inventory there of recorded.
    • Security of goods in housekeeping stores and maintenance of stock cards, issuance of stocks and re-ordering of the same when necessary.
    • Manage the procurement, storage and issuance of stocks within area of operations.
    • Control and store cleaning and other equipment used in cleaning and maintenance works within the rooms.
    • Ensure control and track of all inventories and ensure all is in excellent state of maintenance.
    • Ensure all rooms and general compound are in an excellent state of cleanliness at all times.
    • Develop and agree individual and team performance objectives, standards and target through staff appraisals.
    • Review individual performance and provide in-house training on relevant topics to staff working directly under you.
    • Adhere to Health and Safety Regulations in line with the prevailing legislation and company Policy.
    • Undertake the laundry and health club department’s operations and staff supervision as well as reporting the same to the Manager.

    Qualifications

    • Diploma in House Keeping
    • Good communication and reporting skills
    • Working Experience of at least three to five years in a similar position

    Sous Chef

     

    Job Details

    • At the start of each shift check that daily list is complete and sufficient
    • Inform Kitchen Supervisor immediately of any shortages
    • Use our Standard Recipe Card for preparing all products
    • Portion food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications
    • Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food supplies
    • Prepare item for broiling, grilling, frying, sautéing or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning or marinating
    • Prepare a variety of cuisines in different method
    • Assumes 100% responsibility for quality and presentation of food served
    • Communicate with service staff
    • Understand and comply consistently with the standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures

    Qualifications

    • 3-5 years’ experience as a Sous chef or Head cook
    • College education in F& B
    • Creative with good initiatives
    • Flexible to work in alternate shifts
    • Good communication skills
    • Presentable with excellent customer service skills
    • Knowledge of preparing various cuisines
