    ICT Merchandiser

    Our client is a leading ICT Solutions provider in East Africa region and has retained a top position in Top 100 mid-size companies listing in Kenya for the last six years consecutively.

    They are seeking to recruit a highly talented professional to fill in the following position in their Nairobi office:

    Merchandiser

    The Merchandiser will ensure flawless execution of store level sales and promotion plans with customer retailers in assigned store.

    The store consists of retail IT products.

    Job Principal Accountabilities:

    • Assist in making sales at the store by meeting and understanding customer needs, giving advice and guidance on product selection to customers
    • Ensure that all products displayed have correct price tags
    • Ensure that all products displayed are clean and neat
    • Ensure all products are clearly visible to customers
    • Handles warranty issues promptly
    • Handle customer complaints and deal with customer returns on time
    • Ensure that branch orders are met on time
    • Communicate daily sales reports on time
    • Ensure that products are well stocked at the branch
    • Report dead stock/expiries for removal and replacement at the branches
    • Undertake stock take every Sunday for key products and sending them to head office for analysis
    • Produce sales reports on daily, mid-month and monthly basis

    Key Skills and Qualifications

    • Diploma/Certificate in Business, Information Technology or related course
    • At least 1-year work experience in sales
    • Excellent communication skills – be able to communicate effectively within the team as well as with others in the company
    • Customer focus – recognize both internal and external customer’s needs and balances available resources and skills to strive to exceed them.

    Chief Accountant

    Our client is a leading outdoor advertising company in Kenya with over 200 billboard faces across the country. The business is known for having good quality locations and for its customer service.

    They are seeking to recruit a highly talented professional to fill in the following position in their Nairobi office: 

    The Chief Accountant will be responsible for implementing the company’s financial policies, financial processing and identifying investment opportunities that will ensure the value of the company’s assets are protected.

    Principal Accountabilities

    Leadership:

    • Advising the CEO and BoD on the financial implications of business/project activities.
    • Leading the design and implementation of the structure of financial resources and all financial operations of the company.
    • Providing internal leadership and direction to immediate reports of the Finance Department.
    • Assisting in recruiting new officers for the department and develop training models for the department’s staff

    Finances:

    • Generating relevant projections and weekly forecasting, and manage the capital needs and budgeting process of the company.
    • Determining billboard occupancy, revenue, profitability per billboard face, and develop pacing reports.
    • Maintaining internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, project budgets and actual expenditures.
    • Preparing of monthly management accounts and annual statutory financials statements; and communicating the analysis to CEO and Board on a regular basis (weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually).

    Operations:

    • Participating in the Operational Review meetings and represent the finance division in those meetings.
    • Serving as the primary interface on all banking, treasury and board-level presentations.
    • Preparing terms of reference and overseeing the consultancy in the field of the financial advisory firms to be engaged by the company.

    Policies:

    • Ensuring that existing finance guidelines and related administrative procedures are adhered to, and updated where necessary
    • Overseeing all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems hence ensuring compliance with appropriate IFRS standards and regulatory requirements

    Job Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferably augmented with an MBA.
    • CPA (K) or ACCA Qualifications
    • At least 5-7 years’ experience in a financial management capacity
    • Working knowledge of Sage Accounting Software
    • Excellent negotiation skills
    • Excellent knowledge of financial compliance and governance requirements
    • Proven analytical skills
    • Demonstrated ability to work successfully under pressure

    Chief Financial Officer

    Our client is a Kigali-based company that is a market leader in distribution of pharmaceutical products in Rwanda. The company imports branded drugs, medical equipment, consumables and laboratory reagents and markets them across the country.

    They are seeking to recruit a highly talented professional to fill in the following position in their Kigali office:

    Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief Financial Officer will be expected to contribute to the development and execution of the Company’s growth strategy, advising on the most prudent mechanisms for fiduciary management and ensuring that there are proper financial and accounting controls.

    Job Principal Accountabilities:

    • Providing strategic input on the financial considerations that the Company must address for continued growth and profitability
    • Carrying out business planning, budgeting and forecasting processes
    • Ensuring that daily financial operational matters are executed according to approved plans in a timely manner
    • Maintaining the integrity of the company’s accounting systems, internal controls and managing the relationship with external auditors, banks and investors
    • Ensuring that there is continual and vigilant monitoring of expenses against budgets, and monitoring growth in revenue streams
    • Ensuring that supplier contracts are negotiated to the best interest of the Company
    • Ensuring the company is compliant with tax regulations and financial and business reporting regulations
    • Identifying, assessing and managing the company’s business risks
    • Preparing the company’s financial and business reports
    • Source for and implement better credit options for the company
    • Cash planning
    • Management and leadership of the finance team
    • Managing payroll and employee related tax & finance issues

    Key Skills and Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferably augmented with an MBA.
    • CPA (K) or ACCA Qualifications.
    • At least 4-year experience in a financial management capacity in a for-profit environment.
    • Working experience of SAP will be a big plus
    • Understanding of how a trading business, preferably in FMCG or pharma works is an added advantage
    • Ability to operate in an entrepreneurial environment.
    • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
    • Demonstrated ability to work successfully under pressure.
