    Chief Financial Officer

    Our client is a Kigali-based company that is a market leader in distribution of pharmaceutical products in Rwanda. The company imports branded drugs, medical equipment, consumables and laboratory reagents and markets them across the country.

    They are seeking to recruit a highly talented professional to fill in the following position in their Kigali office:

    Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief Financial Officer will be expected to contribute to the development and execution of the Company’s growth strategy, advising on the most prudent mechanisms for fiduciary management and ensuring that there are proper financial and accounting controls.

    Job Principal Accountabilities:

    • Providing strategic input on the financial considerations that the Company must address for continued growth and profitability
    • Carrying out business planning, budgeting and forecasting processes
    • Ensuring that daily financial operational matters are executed according to approved plans in a timely manner
    • Maintaining the integrity of the company’s accounting systems, internal controls and managing the relationship with external auditors, banks and investors
    • Ensuring that there is continual and vigilant monitoring of expenses against budgets, and monitoring growth in revenue streams
    • Ensuring that supplier contracts are negotiated to the best interest of the Company
    • Ensuring the company is compliant with tax regulations and financial and business reporting regulations
    • Identifying, assessing and managing the company’s business risks
    • Preparing the company’s financial and business reports
    • Source for and implement better credit options for the company
    • Cash planning
    • Management and leadership of the finance team
    • Managing payroll and employee related tax & finance issues

    Key Skills and Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferably augmented with an MBA.
    • CPA (K) or ACCA Qualifications.
    • At least 4-year experience in a financial management capacity in a for-profit environment.
    • Working experience of SAP will be a big plus
    • Understanding of how a trading business, preferably in FMCG or pharma works is an added advantage
    • Ability to operate in an entrepreneurial environment.
    • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
    • Demonstrated ability to work successfully under pressure.
